Honestly though. US always has this crisis when the temperature somewhere goes below zero degrees celsius, or when there's a thin film of ice on top of one pond. Suddenly, everyone forgets how to drive, all schools shut down, and all claims of global warming are debunked.
I get that the areas that rarely get that cold aren't prepared, there is no equipment to clear the snow if there's a lot of it and cars don't have proper wheels for winter, but still. It always makes me roll my eyes a bit. Go out and make a snowman or something.

Yeah, we've gotta get a solid foot of snow on the ground before they'll be talking about that. Mind you, that would have to be over a 24 hour period or something. We've got much more than a foot already.
That's okay though. I love the snow. We don't even get enough in this area to make good use of our snowshoes though, so I'd actually be good with even more. The wife and I took Oliver out almost-camping at a nearby provincial park a couple weeks ago. We didn't spend the night, but stayed long enough for a several hour hike on the lake (Oliver rode in a sled most of the way) and a campfire to cook our dinner and some mostly warm smores. The stars outside the city are so amazing.
Speaking of which, I actually just ordered a telescope online! Looking forward to checking out Jupiter or something. I'll have to look up when and where cool stuff is going on so I can make use of this thing.
Basically, the idea is that clan members make posts based on a given category. I haven't figured out how to score yet. I was thinking people gets points if the post was thanked by a member of another clan.

Hm... It's been a while since I've made any custom cards, actually. 15 new cards in 20 minutes? Wow.
So I heard today would be the coldest day of this week, but that doesn't say very much. I wish I could say "the cold never bothered me anyways", but that would be a lie.
@Moss: We're setting up official all-encompassing rules for clan contests this year that will involve three categories of the game host's decision and each of those categories will be given a 1-5 star rating by each reviewing clan, giving participating clans a 3-15 point spread + 1 point for participating, or +2 points if that clan wins. That way, the contests should be tighter throughout the year and more inclusive.
Cold enough that they cancelled class. Hopefully they won't cancel tomorrow though; I need to get in hours at work.

Nah. I just think it's funny that I go to work every day in -35 and you guys are complaining that they don't shut down the city when it gets to -20.
