Got my hands on an unopened Champions of Kamigawa booster pack recently and decided to crack it open to find a foil Dosan the Falling Leaf. Since it looks pretty cool in foil and I have finally found a use for a Bottled Cloister that I have, I want to try and build a deck around him and his "no instants allowed." Ideally, I want it to reflect his ability and be relatively budget ($200 or less). Are there more cards like Bottled Cloister that go hand in hand with his ability? What rout should I take to win the game? Ramp and man lands, big fatties, etc? Also, is denying opponents the ability to play things on other players' turns too oppressive or unfun?
Would your plan be to focus on activated abilities when you need an effect on others' turns? The main issue I foresee is not responding to combos since no one can react. However, I have never seen a Dosan deck.
I'd think Hall of Gemstone would be a good add, but it could wreck an unprepared table.
Well, since I'll most likely be using it in a casual setting, I'm not really considering the idea that my opponents will have decks with an infinite combo in them
