I've been getting into dredge as an idea that I like and I'd like to make a deck that plays from my graveyard. I've looked around and found some cool ideas in the legacy forums and such, but it all requires multiples for consistency.
Are there any commanders that really work well in a graveyard/dredge style?
Anyway, would love to play a dredge style deck in EDH, is this possible? Or do you pretty much have to go with some form of sac//reanimator?
Not sure exactly what you mean with this. If you're talking about decks that can play out of their graveyard, Karador is probably a good choice. If you want to do a more traditional reanimator, I'm a fan of Chainer.
As a connoisseur of fun, interesting matches, I still to this day have not been able to craft that "perfect deck"; the deck that I can play and have fun over time, doesn't get boring, but simultaneously is fun to play against. I honestly don't think it exists. It's like a unicorn. A ninja unicorn.
I'd say this is the best. As long as you don't overextend you'll always have creatures to bring back and go to value town. Black in great for creature reanimation, green is great for non-creature recursion, and white is also good at creature recursion.
If you want to play reanimator, Mimeo is your man. As far as classic dredge goes, it depends on what you want your win-con to be. Karador and Jarad are both good, but the decks are a bit different, with Karador leaning more towards value and control and Jarad being more aggressive. Combo-dredge could choose Karador or Mimeo, depending on whether you wanted Palinchron or Lark/Guide.

Also, here.
...Anyway, there's also Teneb, the Harvester. To be honest, I don't think he's as good as many of the other generals suggested already. However, he's in the three best reanimation colors, and unlike Karador, he can reanimate from other people's graveyards.
Beyond these really any black / x commander can be turned to run this type of strategy as well. White also has some play from grave effects and green has some recovery from graveyard so they are decent pickup colors for this type of deck as well.

I have officially moved to MTGNexus. I just wanted to let people know as my response time to salvation decks being bumped is very hit or miss.
I run dredge in my Jarad deck. I find the deck to be relatively resilient and of all my decks it has the most finishing power. Just be careful with dredge, a well timed Relic of Progenitus can be devastating.
The Mimeoplasm is debatably the strongest for what you're looking for!
agree, with the adding of blue's wheels and card draws and concecrated sphinx, it's scary to draw 39 cards, keeping regrowth type cards, drop kessig cagebreakers, have an impressive win. the problem is that he can be slow.

Adun Oakenshield seems like an obvious choice, but are there any better ones? I thought jarad, golgari lich lord or thraximundar might be ok choices. Perhaps varolz, the scar striped?

Any thoughts?

As a commander he will only ever get bigger and bigger unless he's given -1/-1 counters.

The Mimeoplasm and Glissa, the Traitor do good as well. They aren't usually who I think of first though.
