Ok so I was wondering if anyone had any experience running this card, and if so then how well did it play? I like the idea of it, but am not completely sold.
I run a recycling deck that can recur creatures so he would be a great addition to get back to nuke a players mana base of just take out pesky manlands or utility lands. Both of which can win a game since most of my meta is an evolved state of stax and become threats the longer they are on the board. Other creatures I run that hit lands would be Acidic Slime and Goblin Settler. Both of these are enter the battlefield though so they get hosed by Torpor Orb . Which seems to be creeping into every deck in my meta now.
Other than that the only other land spell destruction spells that I run is Decimate which is more than likely a one trick pony in the deck, and Shivan Harvest which doubles as a sac outlet. Shivan Harvest only gets non-basics though.
So if anyone has any thoughts on the card I would like to hear them, so let me know what you guys think. Thanks!
For the flavor alone, I'd run it. I mean look at the art!
You give your opponent one turn to prepare before you activate him (unless he has haste, which red does best), and he serves well as good mana dump. Even though its CMC is low, it's a pretty mid-late game drop. I wouldn't be happy seeing it turn 8 or 9, but around turn 4-5 it can do some damage.
At worst he's a threat on board that your opponent will use a kill spell on instead of something other.
Settlers are a pretty respectable threat, though I think I would not run them without first playing Avalanche Riders, Ravenous Baboons, and Keldon Firebombers first. I know these cards are all ETB effects, but they are still more powerful than Settlers.
If you want more of the effect, look into Tectonic Break though.
I have not played with the card, but it does look amusing. How good it is depends on how much recursion you have and how much mana you can produce typically.
Have you considered Dwarven Blastminer/Dwarven Miner? They only hit non-basics, but can do it turn after turn at the same cost it takes the goblins to kill one land.
edit: reading your deck list, I am still not certain about what's better, the Goblin or the Dwarves. Test both? Also, some comments: Use BOTH crucible AND life from the loam. Both are crazy value engines ESPECIALLY if your meta has LD.

Great for a late game one-sided geddon, assuming you have the mana via gauntlets, etc.
I personally get more value from my Keldon Firebombers, but that is because Torpor Orb doesn't exist, and my mono-red deck is Kiki-jiki so I can perma-bomb every one to 3 lands.
Thanks for showing me harvest though. That's getting bought pronto.

I ran him for a bit in my Naya ramp deck that regularly gets to around 15 mana. There were several games where he played out like a Door to Nothingness.

Other than Firebombers, which hits your stuff as well, those cards to not operate on the scale of Orcish Settlers. You can compare them with other point land removal, like Reap and Sow, but not someone who replicates Stone Rain for 2.
Thanks for the responses guys! I am currently running him in over a tutor at the moment, and I have only drew into him once, and he ended up eating a bullet. But hey one less to worry about; I think I'm just going to keep testing him and seeing how it goes.
Bracers is a nonbo here. Because they are sacrificed as part of the cost, the bracers are no longer equipped with the activated ability goes on the stack, and thus won't trigger to copy it.
Rings is great though.

Apart from Orchish Settlers I have found Army Ants; which is a little sub par unless you have a Crucible on the field or Lotl in your hand/graveyard. But I suppose that a basic for a game ender isn't too bad.
Also have had Fulminator Mage directed to my attention. Which could be a definite possibility but am not sure if the card is worth the $12. But he requires no mana sink and doesn't have to sac a land to take one, and can really be abused if I ended up using him.

You are correct on the Bracers, of course.
