Simply put here is a thread for people to discuss the strongest general of each color combination. since mono colors have so many different options, it is much more difficult to evaluate them all, that may be a project for the future, however.
To be more specific, which general do you think would be the best fit for competitive level play?
I have added a poll for those to contribute, but it is very much appreciated if you contribute your reasonings for why you chose general X over all the other available options.
Keep in mind that your selection is based on Multiplayer Commander
Having said that we are dealing with 20 combinations. That is:
3 color: GWU Bant RGW Naya GRB Jund UBR Grixis WUB Esper RWB Dega GUR Ceta BGU Ana GBW Necra WRU Raka
So I'll go down the list as such starting with boros and so forth, the plan is to go through them all. Each poll will have 48 hours to collect data. (I think that is fair.)
So who will win the battle of the Commanders? Find out and support your favorite commander!

One, I actually have a Vela deck. The deck rocks pretty hard, and while she isn't even remotely necessarily for a wincon, she does some pretty amazing things when she is on the field. I love the artwork for the card as well, it has a lot of flavor. All in all, I've really enjoyed her as a creature.
Has to be Dralnu. He's got an incredibly powerful, versatile ability and his downside is significantly reduced due to the lack of small burn spells in the format.

Dralnu's pretty silly in a format where you play Time Warp but not Lightning Bolt. Most of the U/B legends are kinda interchangeable, though - it's only really him and Dark Sygg that stick out as being more than just Generic Legendary Control Deck Win Condition.
Though I am currently attempting Vela as my general (with Wrexial in the 99), I have always had a great appreciation for Wrexial as a general. He isn't too expensive, has evasion, has a very relevant ability and works so well with fireshrieker strapped to his back as a way to take down opponents via general damage and increase the effectiveness of his primary ability. True, he is not a build around me general like Vela or some of the others, but he is just a cool general, one that I could picturing leading his army, a strong commander that takes the action to his foes. Just don't even get me started on Oona...
I voted Oona because she makes for a great combo piece wincon. Whenever you can shortcut a combo by making your commander incorporated you take one card out of the equation.
I love playing Wydwen which is like the only Dimir commander I could really see myself playing but I would say Oona is probably the one I would view as the strongest. Dralnu is good too but there could be a random chance that you run into Valakut, the Molten Pinnacle or Mouth of Ronom which can make for some really difficult times.

I have officially moved to MTGNexus. I just wanted to let people know as my response time to salvation decks being bumped is very hit or miss.
Once again, it looks like I'm taking a different route with this poll - it has to be Wrexial for me. Evasion over two of the most popular colors in the format, an awesome ability, all wrapped into (for U/B) a very effeciently costed body. I've taken apart and rebuilt the deck more times than I can count since WWK came out, and it's easily one of my favorites.
Besides, every time I cast him I get to yell "Release the kraken!" Bonus points.
Tough one for me. The color produces a few good generals with different designs. I went with Grim Grim, I like his design. I like commanders that can be enablers.
My slightly biased vote went to Wydwen. I've played against a number of Oona lists but none of them were very impressive. She's just too much of a mana hog unless you're going infinite or have Urcoffers. Dralnu draws a lot of hate and while burn is not very popular it's not very hard to kill a 5 mana 3/3 so I don't think he's worth the fuss.
Wydwen has a number of things going for her, she's very difficult to kill, costs 4 and has flash (this is huge). This makes her excellent as a voltron commander in a control shell. Just play the control game, wait for an opening then kill someone out of nowhere.
This is the first one I've actually had to think about, the rest were not even close for me, especially rounds 4-8. I voted Oona, she can just win the game right when she comes down, but I used to play Wydwen and loved her, and Dralnu and Grimgrin can be insane as well.

Lots of strong ones in this poll. Oona is probably the strongest. However I voted Ramirez DePietro since one of my favorite decks to play and others like to play against is a pirate themed deck. Even if you don't go that route he doesn't draw hate and you still get the bomb color combo.
Dimir legends are actually pretty bad as a whole. Wydwen, Oona, and Sygg being exceptions. The colors are amazing (the best if you'd ask me) but legends are very much lacking.
Voted for Oona. She's a faerie that steals dreams, turns them into flowers, blossoms the flowers into faeries that steal more dreams. How amazing is that?
I gotta go Oona. U/B is a great color combination for combos and Oona facilitates that better than any of them because she herself is a combo piece. Coffers/Urborg and infinite mana are relatively common feats and is you hit either of those then Oona does the most with that of any U/B general.
No experience with or against Dimir, so I'm not actually voting.
But, I'd say it's between Vela and Wydwen for me. Vela actually encourages you to kinda sorta interact instead of doing the combo derp (which is boring to me). And Wydwen just seems impossible to kill, lol. Or just not worth the effort it would take.
I have to go with Wydwen, i have built around Oona, Grimgrin, and Wrexial as well, but Wydwen is perfect. She draws less hate than Oona and is much less clunky than Wrexial. Grimgrin is cool, but doesn't leave the same kind of freedom in your build that Wydwen does.
