Hello all. I've been thinking about making an EDH with Experimental Kraj as the commander. Would this be a good decision even with its summoning cost? Also is it worth it to buy the big foil commanders that some card shops sell?

Kraj is a fun commander and you can definitely build him. 6-drop commanders aren't unheard of at all, and neither are 2-color decks. Green and blue are two very powerful colors as well.
I would not recommend buying an oversized Kraj until you've established whether you enjoy the deck. It is a lot easier to trade away normal cards (as well as a lot easier to get a hold of normal cards) than it is oversized promos.

Oversized cards are cute at first, but lugging them around gets very old very quick.
Six mana is generally the cut off point for me, as commanders go. But in green, you shouldn't have a big problem casting him. If you're nervous about the casting cost but still like the commander, one form of advise I'd give is don't make your deck overly reliant upon him. This is good advice in general, but especially with expensive guys. You won't always have access to your commander, whether the opponent has a plethora of removal, or you get land screwed, or he gets tucked, so just try and put redundancies in there.

You can do so many silly shenanigans.
I haven't had a kraj deck but since before the evolve stuff came out so there is probably more fun stuff to do now.
