Hmm, you can probably get away with Akroma, Angel of Wrath as a beatstick general. Personally, I liker her Red Variant (Fury) a little better because of Firebreathing and the whole UNCOUNTERABLE Thing (TAKE THAT COUNTERSPELL.DEC).
You have the colorless mana accel, you just need some Red removal (Oblivion, Jukolaholps, etc.) and Multiple Combat Phases (Fury of the Horde, Savage Beating, Aggravated Assult, etc) and Double Strike (Grappling Hook, Fireshreiker) and you can have yourself a very VERY fast game (2-3 turn win)
Of course, you need Land Smash as well (Boom//Bust, Wildfire) but the cards I mentioned aren't that hard to find if you already have been playing the game for a bit.
EDH is not inherently a "multiplayer format" any more than standard/extended is a 1v1 format. Just because most people play Standard 1v1 doesn't mean you can't have tons of fun playing 5-way standard. The reverse is also true as it applies to EDH.
You should build a 1v1 EDH keeping those things in mind, and considering things like tempo and curve a lot more than you would in a multiplayer deck.
Broad concerns aside, my best piece of specific advice is that every 1v1 EDH deck needs to do one of three things:
(1) Play blue; or
(2) Hose the crap out of Blue; or
(3) All of the above.
Blue is king in 1v1. Control is GOD because you always have a finisher hanging out in the command zone. (Even if your general's a 1/1, it only takes 21 swings to win, regardless of lifegain, etc.)
My advice would be to play U/W if you want a competitive deck that isn't Clique. Grand Arbiter Augustin IV is out-of-this-world good when built right. U/B or U/B/W are great too.

It depends. For example, are you using the EDH multiplayer ban list, or the single-player/french/cheese-eating-surrender-monkey list? If you're using the multiplayer ban list for a single player tournament, I recommend Mind Twist and all of the other cards on that banlist. Its 'douchey', but that's what the word tournament means.
(and if you don't take my advice, make sure to test your deck against a deck that does pack all the ridiculously unfair cards)
I have sol ring, mana crypt, mana vault, dt and vt, alot of the white mass removal......
Need a good general and card suggestions...
I was thinking a cheap general like the bittin gale.......but a dragon might be good....oros?

Anyway, consider Black/White. Guide to Ghost Council here.

BWR Kaalia Punisher: Heaven's on Fire
Grimgrin: Dead Reckoning
Just like my example with standard, though, you wouldn't build a 1v1 and multi-player deck the same way. A lot of EDH "staples" (Mind's Eye, Decree of Annihilation, Blatant Theivery, etc.) get nerfed, while other things get way better (counterspells, spot removal a la Swords to Plowshares, Hymn to Tourach, etc).
You should build a 1v1 EDH keeping those things in mind, and considering things like tempo and curve a lot more than you would in a multiplayer deck.
