I want to have lands ASAP so that I can play the dragons and trigger/maximize their abilities. Any ideas to make this feasible? I want to keep the deck red for obvious reasons. I was thinking about Mycosynth Wellspring but I then need a sac outlet and ideally a way to reuse the card once it hits the yard. Not sure I want to take that route, but it could be interesting to consider. Otherwise, maybe have a way to return a land to my hand for the Hellkite's ability, but this seems like a suboptimal strategy. Also note that I don't have the budget for Valakut, the Molten Pinnacle...
So let me know if you have ideas to finish the deck. Thanks!
Usually, if a deck idea is centered around some permanent's ETB trigger, my first thought is to blink it. Not red's strength, but there are options: Conjurer's Closet, Voyager Staff.
If you are willing to splash some green, Boundless Realms can increase your Mountain count by a lot. Doesn't take much, with your search cards, a single basic Forest would suffice.
Helm of the Host can produce more dragons with more ETB triggers, and you should be able to get the mana required to get this going.
Thanks for suggesting Sarkhan's Triumph, I didn't know that card existed.
I agree about blinking the dragons, I thought about using umbilicus but this seems like a slow route to take. Panharmonicon is another possibility, but I already use them in another deck.
The staff is interesting, so if I were to use them, along with the artifact creatures, I would definitely need to find a way to recur what ends up in the graveyard. Any suggestions on this alternative?
You definitely need some way to keep earlier flyers away. You also need some removal, which can also address the first problem to some degree. Probably the best early flyer defense that I know of for red is Aether Membrane. It has no direct synergies with your deck, but is an amazing tool to protect yourself with. Goblin Barrage likes artifacts and goblins for the extra damage, Shrapnel Blast is also very good if you have artifact so sacrifice. Another Wall with synergy for the deck is Gleaming Barrier, early defense, good sac fodder for the various cards, and makes another artifact to either accellerate you a bit or as more sac fodder for those other cards.
I am trying to build a casual multiplayer deck with Spawn of Thraxes. Here is the decklist so far:
4 Burnished Hart
4 Wild-Field Scarecrow
4 Akoum Hellkite
4 Spawn of Thraxes
4 Downhill Charge
4 Thunderclap
4 Spitting Earth
22 Mountain

With Sarkhan's Triumph you can get your dragons more consistently.

One time use:
Junk Diver
Myr Retriever
Trash for Treasure
Workshop Assistant
Codex Shredder
Repeatable:
Nim Deathmantle (that one works for your dragons, too)
Pia's Revolution
Salvaging Station (only for Voyager Staff so far, but you could also run Wayfarer's Bauble with this)
Scarecrone (cannot recur the Stafs)
Skeleton Shard (cannot recur the Staffs)
Scrap Trawler
Sword of Light and Shadow (probably too expensive for you judging from the cards in your list so far)
Trading Post
Conqueror's Galleon/Conqueror's Foothold

4 Ichor Wellspring
4 Mycosynth Wellspring
4 Trading Post
2 Daretti, Scrap Savant

I need a creature that can fit the manacurve and synergise with the rest of the deck, any ideas?
