We don';t sideboard, technically. We just don't give a crap if you grab a different deck or, if you're testing a deck, you make some edits from your collection. Like, say, when I was testing my mono-red control multiplayer deck, I had to go grab a couple of cards from my collection really quick, and nobody cared

Nope, we don't use sideboards, though we do modify and update decks between Magic nights, for example when new sets are released or when the meta changes too much because of a new player(s) or a bunch of new decks.
I prefer that all my casual decks have general answers (interaction/protection) arlready incorporated. Plus this means faster turnaround between games.
I also play a lot of multiplayer; how do you sideboard against 4 different opponents? 2 cards vs the aggro guy? 4 cards vs the control guy? 3 cards against the artifact lock deck?... Sideboard cards are usually pretty narrow, so I don't see any advantage there.
Primary and only casual rule: "any rule that is fine for the most part of the playgroup, is a fine rule". So any further thread with: "if somebody uses/does .... in a casual game, is it ethical/ok?", read the answer above.
- Being a "Johnny/Spike" means you like self-torture. You win often in casual, so everybody hates you; you loose often in competitive, so you hate yourself.
For my casual decks, I basically have an extra 30-50 cards that I keep sleeved up in case I want to slightly change up the theme of a deck (Elves/Wolves ---> Elf Warriors, for example). But in the event that I'm repeatedly getting stomped hard by a deck, I have no problem (playgroup dependent) switching some of those cards in/out to make the matchup a little more bearable so that I don't need to switch to a completely different deck.

Never. I have enough decks built that I never bother playing the same one twice, so there's no tweaking necessary. I just pack the first one away, pull out another and shuffle up. "Sideboarding", for me, is more the act of changing cards in the deck itself after the afternoon of shenanigans is done.

^This. You basically said everthing I was gonna say lol. All my casual deks are in my casual corner. come to think of it i do need to add a few.
I do. I try to find the weakness in each of my decks and then put cards in the sideboard that will close up that gap just in case. Like my land destruction deck is vulnerable to early-game weenie damage. The cure? Embermage Goblin to ping the little suckers away.
I don't sideboard, neither any of the players in my usual group do, we build our decks to be crazy prepared to deal with the most wide variety of threats.
But, I was once invited to play with another group, and I was quite surprised to see that everybody was using sideboards there, I guess they were testing some legacy-tourney caliber decks or something like that xD. Not that it affected me too much, I still won half of the games I played, which is enough for me.
a little but not to any extent like in standard. normally, just a play set or two in case someone wants to play more artifact or enchantment heavy deck. also, we do play multiplayer and 1v1 so we do have a small amount of sideboarding b/c of that since we don't make decks for multiplayer. overall, it's very rare for my group to sideboard. we either are lazy, don't care, or our decks are good enough.
We sideboard all the time. My casual meta is fairly fast (some play their Legacy decks, other play combos that hate out the meta. Games between aggro decks are usually over by turn 5 in 1v1, if not a turn earlier) and sometimes sideboarding is necessary to keep afloat from random combos that hang around.
For example, I'm not going to keep Shattering Spree in my mainboard in case my friend plays his Affinity build that kills on turn 4, and Hull Breach/Naturalize/Oblivion Ring don't do a thing (hell, in some cases they've even helped him, lol).
Our sideboards are pretty much all the same, depending upon color. 3-4 enchantment/artifact removal, 3~ graveyard hate, 4~ cards that cover huge weaknesses (like Propaganda or Ghostly Prison for a control deck or against tokens), and various other cards that may serve helpful if someone busts out the Worldgorger Dragon deck and stuff like that.
I selected "Occasionally", but what I really meant was "when playing a wishboard". Like others have said, my groups typically brings several dozen decks, so there's no reason to play the same deck twice. Keeps things interesting. The obvious exception is when testing before a tournament, but that doesn't happen very often.
Though as a weird personal quirk, I always make a sideboard when building a new deck. Always. Even though I know I'm almost certainly never going to use it. I think it's mostly because a 60-card sleeved deck doesn't fill a regular deckbox but a 75-card deck does, and the free space bothers me.
«Occasionaly»: I use a wishboard for one of my main decks i play at thursday night legacy tournaments at my local store. Other than that no because i find sideboards boring. Color-hate or any hate cards are quite unfun imo, unless they're included as silver bullets in toolboxes, that i find cool.
For just casual play after classes I don't use the sideboard. Occasionally, we'll have an actual best of 3 match 1v1 in which we sideboard just like we would in a tournament. I'm fortunate to have a very casual play group so switching decks, having a "sideboard" of 100-something cards, friendly mulligans (mull and draw 7 however many times to get a decent hand) is all fine. Sometimes we even borrow cards from each other's decks just to see how they'd work in our own.
I think sbing is silly in casual. Your deck should be able to take on any kind of deck. That being said this is coming from a guy who hates any card(s) that hates on one particular color or lack of color. As said by the above posters through often I switch around decks so I'm not stuck playing the same style.
I tend to have 30-40 decks built at any one time. (I'm sure lots of people have more; that's not a boast.) If I were to sideboard, that would be an extra 450-600 cards.
I've *got* the cards... but while a lot of sideboardish cards are hosers and thus don't make it into main decks (Elemental Blasts and the like), enough of the cards that I would use in sideboards are the "good" sorts of staplish cards (Disenchant, Naturalize, Duress, Pyroclasm, etc.) that can be used to make even more decks.
Given the choice between sideboarding and more decks, I'm always going to choose more decks.

Sounds like 60 card sideboards to me.:p
I don't think I'd like that to be an ongoing rule, but I could see pulling it for a random night now and again.

MTGO: I only play single games, and I only use a sideboard in decks that require "cards from outside the game", like my Relentless Rats deck.

Sig and Avatar drawn by me.
My casual decks only have a "Sideboard like cards" that I want to try before deciding that the deck is good as it is.
They are not properly called sideboard cards, but cards I doubt if the would fit in the deck or not...
Usually, when I am done with a deck, when I think it is complete, I remove the cards I wanted to try.
So, no sideboard at all.

Like many others, I just grab a new deck. Even if I am just duelling, instead of playing my preferred MP FFA games.
Maybe side-decking should be an option on the poll?
Cheers!
