Raving Pyroseer 1R
Creature - Human Shaman
2/1
Protection from red.
When ~ enters the battlefield, you may choose an instant or sorcery card you own from outside the game, reveal that card, and put it into your hand. You lose life equal to the revealed card's converted mana cost.
If ~ would die, exile it instead. He speaks in tongues....of fire.
Art: A crazed shaman in an elaborate antlered headdress with his arms raised, one of which is holding a staff. He is engulfed in flames from the mid-torso down with parts of his chest and arms on fire. His eye's are dark with smoke and a tinge of orange flame, and the smoke from the fire is forming arcane symbols in front of him. (If any artist out there wants to do this for fun or for one of the MTGS' original art contests (but not commission or cards, etc) please let me know. It would be fun and look sick in my cube when its done!)
Notes:
-He's essentially a Burning Wish variant on a stick so you can grab situational sideboard cards in constructed or add value from a toolbox.
-The loss of life makes it a little more fair and reminds me of Dark Confidant. Alternately the loss of life effect could be replaced by a limiter of '3 cmc or less' or 'red' or whatever to reign in its power level, but I think its more interesting as is.
-Flavor dictates he should have protection from red so he won't die when he jumps into the fire to do his scrying, but it could easily go away - the pro-red means he can survive a wished red sweeper effect like Pyroclasm or Volcanic Falloutetc, which might be too one sided. It could be removed or replaced by one of flash, haste, first strike, etc.
-I'm not sure if the exile effect is correctly worded or even necessary. Burning Wish probably had its exile clause for a reason, so this card would probably fall under that logic too.
The red Wizkid should fill an otherwise unfulfilled niche. Finding an artifact feels too much like SFM, finding an instant or sorcery like SCM, dealing damage to players is more like Tarmo's territory, and looting would be close to Finkel.
That's why I stand by my idea of a ramp mage for red:
Entranced Beckoner | 1R Creature - Orc Shaman
Double strike
Each spell you cast cost 1 less to cast for each spell you've cast this turn. 1/1
The fact that most casuals will never play something else than kitchen Magic make them the black matter of Magic: 90% of the universe, but undetectable except by the side effects of their presence.
Hmm, this comes up quite a lot in WiJ-type games. I think this is the entry I use:
Flaredancer1R
Creature - Elemental Shaman {R}
Whenever Flaredancer attacks, you pay pay R. If you do, put a 3/1 red Elemental creature token onto the battlefield tapped and attacking.

Of course, it's all subjective.
Thats a cool design, its lets you cast a cmc1, a cmc2, and a cmc 3 on turn 3.. that's extreme.
Definitely red, lets you dump your hand, and with artifacts.. it's affinity like.

Speculate less. Test more.
- Dark Confidant gives you raw card advantage.
- Stoneforge Mystic finds boosts or utility for your creatures.
- Snapcaster Mage allows you to recycle a spell.
- Tarmogoyf is raw beats.

Too similar to electromancer?
How about this
Storm Rider 1R
Creature - human wizard
Flash
At the beginning of each end step, you draw a card if you've cast 2 or more spells this turn.

Definitely a build around, but it can provide some serious advantage
