I was browsing through cards from the period when I first left Magic (just as Visions started) and Knight of the Mist struck me as an ideal card for "Planeshifting". Here is a render...I'm not sold on the art, but I do like giving some love to the much-ignored Skeleton tribal team.
The point is that he was trying to timeshift Knight of the Mist, an interesting card in itself. I think its fine as a black card. (Never really made sense as a blue creature anyway)
Edit: Since the autocard seems to not be working, Knight of the Mist is the exact same as this guy, except with blue mana where this one has black
What made Knight of the Mists good, in so far as I thought it was "good" that is, was that he could be used to kill White Knight and Black Knight. Being black this one can't kill white knight, but on the upside with Haakon, Stromgald Scourge this guy would pretty sweet as recurring knight-kill. Also he can kill the other guy's Hakkon, it'd be pretty neat actually.
The art is a nice compliment to Knight of the Mists, one could easily imagine them facing each other side by side. One is on the left looking up, the other on the right looking down, as if looking at eachother.
Just a thought, part of what made KoM good was that it wasn't in the traditional knight colors. Consider a green version. Green has one skeleton too, what do you think? It'd be for knights what Isao, Enlightened Bushi was for samurai. If you did make it green you'd need a different piece of art.
Hmm I like the non-traditional knight colorshift idea...
Just a quick question, if their are no other knights out, and you want to play this it in effect costs 2BB, no? (as you have to pay the cost so it doesn't kill itself.)

That was the idea behind KoM. If there was no other Knight (or you controlled all the other Knights), then you had to pay the extra. Blue doesn't typically get 2/2's for 3 with combat abilities (that let them kill 3-toughness creatures), so the extra mana was added. Apparently someone thought it would be interesting to add it in such a way that it could also kill your opponent's Knight if he had one.
Green has never gotten any creature kill except in the case of Tracker and its ilk.
Anyway, nice card.
They sometimes get hate for certain types of creatures, like those with flying. Let's face it, nature doesn't like Knights. I know it's a bit of a stretch, but at the time KoM was seen as about as odd as a Green version of it would be now.

So maybe I should defend my Nature v Knight argument. What does green stand for? Community, harmony, life. Knights enforced a social order which included slaves (called serfs, but the name shouldn't confuse you unless you're a moron who spends a lot of time at the beach.) If Cortes was a magic card he'd be a Knight, and Cortes was a dick. And then there's Eastern Paladin. Green needs a Knight of the Mists to get revenge.
Green's Knight-hate should come in the form of a walking Once and Future King reference:

Just thought I'd share.
Not that great but it is 2B for a 2/2 flanker.
