Expensive cards are meant to be played. As long as you dont crack a PSA or BGS case, it should be fine. I also recommend double sleeving your entire collection. Never take it out of the perfect fit sleeve, even when switching the card from decks to binders or from deck to deck. That's the best way to play an expensive card without damaging it.
I play with my FBB duals, Imperial Seal, Mishra's Workshop, Japanese Foil Signed Altered Jaces etc all in double sleeves. KMC perfect fit + KMC Solid Colours are the best choice IMO.
Do you have a preference for KMC Super vs KMC Mat? I recently bought some KMC Mat Dark Blue sleeves, and they weren't particularly flat, and instead were arched especially at the edges. This made it somewhat difficult to put the cards in, and also makes the stack of cards more likely to shift around. I also bought some KMC Super Greens, and they are perfectly flat, and have a very nice feel to them. Also, the KMC Super Blues I bought are much more finicky than the greens....and the whites seems to be much better, but not quite as good as the greens.
I have seen some people saying the Mats are better than the Supers, so I'm trying to see if I'm missing something! Any input on colors as well?

Check out my Magic Online Expected Value website: MagicEV
Contains EV calculations for all current MTGO events, and opened booster EV as well!
All of them. Otherwise, what's the point? Just print up proxies and put the originals in a vault somewhere? **** that noise.
To be fair, my most expensive stuff is $100-150 range and it's really only a handful of them at that.
I run in sleeves and currently working on getting KMC perfect fits to double-sleeve them. I shuffle those decks very slowly & gingerly..try not to bend them at all.
I also implemented a hard-and-fast 'no open containers on tabletop' rule so that's no longer an issue.
I actually hate the Forcefield because it's the only white bordered card in my 3 EDH decks and it drives me nuts.
CE will set you free.. (That's what I did for mine..I hate WB, especially when it's only one card in the deck. Makes it all-the-worse. I feel you here.) Hell; you could turn the one you have into 3x CE, 1x for each deck..
i saw someone open up a Foil Russian Dark Confidant. you shouldve seen the number of people who were running to sign up for the russian ravnica drafts they were holding.
otherwise, i know someone who has foiled up pretty much an entire mayael the anima EDH deck (which is pretty sweet).
REALLY awkward how we have Russian, Japanese, and Korean foil Doom Blades + Call to the Graves, now. All the boxes that had the foil Call to the Grave also had foil Doom Blade. Coincidence??
The card with the dice on it is Sturmgeist. It was really awsome because pack 2 pick 1 I open snapcaster and then get passed a pack from a guy in G/W that contained: Foil Blasphemous Act (which looks amazing BTW), Heretic's Punishment, and the Bloodline Vampire. UnReal.
Left out the Russian Kessigs & Korean M12 basics, NBD...
Here's the first of my Power Nine I'm getting altered by a local artist. The card is Unlimited.
I'm handing over my other five Unlimited Power (Time Walk, Timetwister, Mox Emerald, Mox Jet, and Mox Sapphire) beginning of December for him to continue the theme with. And I'm going to begin looking for an Unlimited Black Lotus to be altered (traded mine at States) and Unlimited Ancestral Recall, Mox Ruby, and Time Vault to be altered since I don't want my Betas altered.

Completely agree. There are no good alters to power. The only acceptable alter I've ever seen were the guru Moxen Klug did.
I think you're missing Markers altered moxen. Those are beautiful and awesome, I wish I had them but they are far too expensive and awesome to be traded/bought IMHO.
But, really Solaran? Brony alters on power 9? I can't stand looking at that poor mox sapphire personally and think it is the ugliest mox sapphire I have ever seen then again it's your card so you can do what you want with it.

Actually, it's a Mox Pearl. Mox Sapphire is getting altered with a Fluttershy.
I did this for several reasons. The most important is security. I don't intend to get rid of Power again (although I did move my Lotus at States because the offer was ridiculous and I needed to replace my computer and wiper transmission arm on my car). With these alterations making me famous or infamous (depending on who you ask), anyone who does steal my Power will have a hell of a time fencing such recognizable Power. If it is stolen at, let's say, GenCon - I can easily notify all the dealers about missing easily recognizable altered Power, and it would be easily spotted on eBay (I doubt anyone but me will have altered Power in this manner). And putting out information on large forums like this would make the thief's job even harder.
Another reason is that after watching MLP:FIM, it strikes me as being similar to the Vintage community in how close knit the players are. Vintage players aren't as transient in this format as they are in other formats (namely Standard). Once a player buys into the format and plays in events, they tend to get to know the other Vintage players in a region and they become a fixture. Vintage is a very small community, with a high level of trust among the people in an area (loaning Power and other such cards to those in the area who need it for events and such).
And finally...just think about how demoralizing it's going to be for whoever gets beat by the guy with Pony Power.

Alters are a difficult subject. Power 9 alters doubly so.
There are 3 main types of people concerning alters:
a) People who love them no matter who made them as long as the card looks unique and/or awesome.
b) People that hate any alters on cards and would never want anything to do with them (with Power the % of these guys is VERY high)
c) People who love alters but only want them altered by the creator of the art and/or Richard Garfield.
Each of these types doesn't see the benefit of the other two and will never understand their motives...
I am a C-type guy...but I try to get my head around a and b...
A - they want a more or less unique new art of the card with an art they like for a reasonable cost ($50?) within a reasonable time frame
B - they want the cards to stay as original as possible for future generations of gamers. Only cards untouched by pens and/or oil are really Magic cards
C - We the C-guys want a reimagination/extension of the art by the original artist and by contacting the artist himself/herself it makes the card much more unique. And by having multiple artists altering their cards the collection looks much more colorful..

I'm definitely an A type. And I didn't get this Power altered on a whim. I carefully planned an entire theme for P9 + Time Vault (and Voltaic Keys and Tezzeret the Seekers for the Time Vault) before finding an artist to do the work locally.
I would love to get stuff altered by the original artist, but I will not put Power in the mail anymore. I quit shortly after Mirrodon for two reasons. First was Storm - I played Vintage exclusively back then, and Storm ruined Vintage for years. Second, I had a full Beta P9 and I made the mistake of mailing my Beta Black Lotus (among other pieces of Chris Rush art) to get signed by Chris Rush and never saw it again (and before someone asks, the card was mailed via Registered Insured and I included enough money for him to mail it back Registered Insured, which was how I was instructed by him). When Power is involved, I will only work face-to-face with an artist, which limits my choices significantly.
I love your Moxes Markers, and I wanted my Power to be like your's - recognizable and well known. Hell...I have yet to find anyone who posts on MTGSalvation that doesn't know your Moxes. And honestly, the opinions of other people aren't important to me. If I was really worried about what other people thought about my Power, I wouldn't have had the alterations done. But clearly I don't care, since I got the work done and proudly put it on here for everyone to see.
If I go to some tournament somewhere, and even one person says "I recognize those Moxes...you're that guy on Salvation," I'll be happy. Anyone can have Power. Even Betas. But at the end of the day, they all look alike except those who are brave enough to stand out from the crowd and either put pen to paper themselves or find someone to put pen to paper on Power.
If you want to hate on my Power, go ahead and hate. Hate all your want. (Not you Markers -this is a general statement to the haters) But at this end of it all, it's mine - not your's. And I have no intention of getting rid of it again. So you don't have to worry about seeing it in a dealer's case, unless it was stolen from me and a dealer actually bought altered Power.

I guess my distaste of it is, first off, it isn't a very good alter, the lines are curves are sloppy, it looks like it was done in a very short period of time. And second, the content of the alter, it isn't beautiful or stunning, like say, the guru Moxen, which are very striking.
Just to make sure it's known, none of this is meant in offense, it's my opinion and I in no way feel that it is more valid than yours, it's just how I feel.
I'm not against altering the cards, whatever the reasons may be, but I really hope you're not paying that much for the job. It looks messy and unfinished.
And anyone who doesn't like Frazier's alters, Markers or otherwise, is either blind or tasteless. The man's work is legendary, and that's not an opinion. It's a fact.
