Um...don't we already have a thread for this that is quite long? Yep...q
I find this hard to beleive...wouldn't he risk getting blood on his tuxedo shirt?
Also, a stick from a lancet will bleed for a max of 10 seconds when done by an experienced diabetic. There are also meters and strips that use very little blood that are quite common and inexpensive, so that you can stick your arm not your finger. If he is sticking his finger every 45 minutes (a frequency that is more common in the hospital setting, unless he is chugging sugar or insulin during the match) then his fingers will be hurting quite a lot during the game, so I feel worse for him than I do for your imaginary paranoia.

Chugging sugar? how about chugging moonpies? would he still have to stic his finger every 45 seconds?
On topic: The people who are sore losers. the ones who will complain and moan and say that they got mana screwed. I also dislike slow drafters.

If that's your "casual," what on earth is required for "formal," a butler in livery shuffling the decks whilst a pianist plays Brahms in front of a tapestry?
It wasn't magic, but rather Raw Deal (WWE tcg). Some backstory, raw deal didn't have different formats, any sets were legal for tournaments. So, about 3 years into the game my friends and I are playing at one of the major GenCon tournaments. And a friend of mine comes up in between rounds and says he jsut played the most depressing player ever. Lol, we all laugh.
Next round, I'm playing the same guy. Literally the first thing he says after drawing his cards is "I don't know why I even bother". He was playing a starter deck from 4 expansions before and spent the whole game complaining about how he didn't like the game, he didn't know why he even bothered to show up, etc.
The tournament cost 30 bucks to enter, and there were side tournaments going on at the same time. So, he paid 6X the cost of a side tournament ot enter the main event... with a starter deck form two years ago. And then spent the entire time complaining about how he wasn't having fun.
I hate people who act coy when they're winning. There are a few people at my LGS who will try to playfully act like you might have them on the ropes when they have a handful of removal or twin combo or something. "Wow, I don't know, that looks pretty serious!" "Hmm, that might be trouble for me!" Just STFU and make your play you stupid bastard...
As much as I hate excuse makers too; nothing sucks more than losing a tourny match because you got mana screwed. Its so very hard not to sulk and lick your wounds after something like that happens =( Its the one aspect of this game I hate. Dumb game >.< And thus I have alternative / additional mana sources in every deck. Which actually helps alot either way
Yeah, I have to admit, mana screw sets me off big time, whether it's me or my opponent. I honestly get upset when my opponent is sitting on 2 lands the whole time and just try to end things quickly rather than play with my food. There's nothing fun about the game at that point for the winner or the loser, and I usually feel like crap for winning a game under those conditions.
I've played at FNM a couple of times and people would write down on their life tracking sheet what cards were in my hand after using a probe or extraction. I don't care if it's allowed or not, just don't waste my time with your excessiveness. It's FNM.

??
...that's what Gitaxian Probe does. What's excessive about playing correctly?
The thing about playing well is, you can't relax your habits at FNM, or they cease to be habits. You have to continue to play your tightest during FNM, or you'll probe someone and say "okay" without writing things down during a serious round of magic.
Also, bear in mind that the enjoyment of magic for many players is being able to say, "I played correctly today." It only takes a second to write down someone's hand in shorthand, and it is a fundamental part of the enjoyment for a player who likes playing well.

I'll be sad if people don't start calling The Chain Veil "Fleetwood Mac."
I just like people who are "real" and can appreciate a good game even if it's a frustrating one. People who pout, talk about everything they do, and say things like "Oh wow, must be another Delver deck" when you first turn Ponder annoy me a ton... but it's douchebags who treat every move they make and every silly little side game like it's the end of the world and will effect their personal pro tour standing. I get it when it IS a pro level event... but when we're playing for a couple of boosters... relax.

Cry me a river. I have poor short-term memory and I need to write things down to not forget them.
People who run crap for decks and claim that their deck is the best or at least playable in the format (played a dude with a 107 card mill deck at FNM last night*rolls eyes*).
I can't stand the players that come to casual hangouts with $300+ legacy decks and expect everyone to want to play with them. Once or twice is enough, how about trying to make a new deck?
I hate playing people who just get net decks and expect to win. I played a guy who was on RG aggro, while I was on a UR Forgemaster list that I just brewed up. I beat him because he couldn't stop me after I kept sweeping with whipflare. The guy throws his hand across the table. Like that makes it just unpleasant for me and everyone around...

Basically anyone who complains like a ***** the entire time you're winning. I have a friend who does this a lot and it makes me not want to play with him at all.
However, there was this one guy at my locals who was chugging moon pies while in a tuxedo and testing his blood sugar. What the actual hell?

Mhjames: mtgsalvation: I DON'T SEE HOW THIS CARD IS GOOD. I KNOW PATRICK CHAPIN USED IT AND WENT 8-0, BUT THAT WAS A SMALL TOURNAMENT. THE CARD IS TOO SLOW. YOU NEED TO MAKE SURE THE OPPONENT HAS A SPELL IN THE GRAVEYARD
For me it has to be the players who eat while they play. I don't mind them eating at the store or even near cards but there's something really gross when they pick up your cards to see what they say and get grease all over the sleeves. I've had to throw out several sleeves and even cards (drafts so they were common/uncommon/crap rares) because it was gross.
I don't play with people who get emotionally invested in the game. Banter and even a bit of trash talk is fine, but gloating or griping is never cool. Doesn't matter if the game is still going, or has been won; doesn't matter who's winning/won; it's just a friggin' game, and I don't play with people who can't treat it that way.
There is this one person at my LGS that is diabetic which would be absolutely fine but he has to tell everyone he is a diabeties like he wants a sob story and he ALWAYS chekcs his blood sugar in between games which is just nasty to me (i dont want blood on my cards).
Something is definitely weird about this. I'm diabetic and 1) I don't check my blood sugar nearly that often, 2) I prick the sides of my fingers because that's where my doc told me to, and 3) it'd take a crime lab to spot whatever trace amounts of blood I leave on things that I touch even five seconds after I blot the blood off. And I have a low platelet count.
Well, I played someone today at a PTQ, he drew lands, I drew gas, he goes on and rage quits and says this game sucks and he's going to sell all of his cards and didn't even sign the sheet, I asked him nicely, "Do you wanna sign this?", just a "No" nod looking away, that was fine by me, I walked away and handed the sheet in. *shrugs*

that happens a lot down at my hometown store, since it is not DCI sanctioned, we just have casual Friday nights where people will often bring crazy decks
I was on a winning streak during prerelease and then I played against this super serious dude who wear earphone in both ears, never talks, never even looked at me, plays extremely fast, no shake hands whatsoever.

An alien, surveying the intelligent TCG culture on Earth?
For me, playing against an opponent (a friend) who always wants to win. When he loses, he throws a tantrum.
One guy at our LGS will continually ask you if he could see a trade binder while you play. I hate playing him at FNM's. That's not even the worst. If he finds a card he likes and you give him your price. He asks you your basis for the price. If you say online, he immediately says "Never look up prices online, the "low" prices are actually high when trading in person." However if you like a card he has, he automatically gives you an online price at "mid" and continues with "It's that price for a reason" or "To me it's a very fair price". All this happens while you play.
In general, I don't trade while I play. There has been an issue at one of the places I play at lately that has become an issue. If you're playing against this one kid, his friend will hound you to see your trades, then if you say yes he goes through and continuously asks what prices are for cards. You can tell him, and he'll say why it's not that price, etc., etc.
In general, I don't trade because of that. It has annoyed them both to no end ("What, you can't play and trade at the same time?") , and it's all been proven to be an attempt by them to give the other guy an advantage. At one point I busted out Delver against him and allowed his friend to go through my cards. In the middle, realizing that he won if i made a play mistake, his friend starts hounding almost immediately about cards. I look to his friend, smile, then look back to my opponent. "Vapor Snag that creature, swing for lethal after, and I value those cards at $3.50, $5.00, and $2.75." needless to say, they were a bit upset I can multitask. =/

Oh yeah, there's always that singleton weirdo in an FNM or playgroup.
We have this guy that ALWAYS, in EVERY game he sees, makes fun of the player who's apparently losing.
When playing against him, the same. The only time I saw him snap out of it was in an FNM final round when I broke his PW Lifegain lock with a single Inkmoth Nexus and was able to protect it FTW. I won the FNM and afterwards he apologized for his rudeness, but nothing has changed ever since.
Without judging an ENTIRE group, I have to group a few people with this condition together as they all share the same traits.
The kids with Aspergers Syndrome are the least fun to play at my LGS (with the exception of one who is REALLY chill, and an awesome dude). They tend to talk a lot, loudly, and don't 'keep it down' for long when asked. They also tend to have outbursts that disrupt the store environment. I don't think everyone with this condition is like this, but there is a rather large group of them at my LGS, and save for the one I mentioned earlier, they are quite a problem.
I understand that this condition causes social problems, I get that, I suffer from OCD, so I realize that habits someone has are easily influenced by mental imbalances... The issue is, they don't seem to be trying to fight the condition at all, instead, citing it as the excuse for why they can't be blamed.
Can we plz drop the whole 'casual players play with cheap decks' stigma? My decent decks are worth way over 300$ yet I haven't played a single legacy game in my life. I could have said the same during kamigawa. Those bad T2 players who wanted to play with us casuals and then complained our decks where better (even though most of our cards where cheaper).
I have to disagree with this, I've never lost to a casual player with my type 2 deck. Other than in a match where I had a massive headache and just didn't care. Most casual players I meet ***** at me for playing expensive cards, don't know half the rules, or think their outdated rules are still in effect.
I was beating one guy so bad with a burn deck I threw together, and he could do was mock me the whole time calling me Mr Shock...I've grow to hate casual players due to this and will generally only play competitive/fnm or commander.
As far as what irritates me at FNM. The players who ***** at me for my top tier decks. I don't care if you don't have or want to spend your money on bad cards/decks. You paid $5 to play, you should come prepared.

I hate the reserved list.
Mythic rares are fine.
Those ones that constantly put their front hand card to the back of their hand, continuing this the whole game.
People that resemble pretty much a death cloud by their smell.
