The things that come to my mind is:
Mummies, Zombies, Graverobbers, Looters, Pyramids, Greedy Merchants, Snakes (maybe Poisionos Snakes!), Camelriders, Oases, etc.
Ooooh. I see the Pyramid. Stargate Themed block anyone?
I came. Anubis as a planeswalker would make me cry...tears of joy!
Seeing as we already knew the name of the new block I'm not surprised by this news. The block's tag is intriging though. Then again I was intrigued by Shard's tag and ended up despising Shards block.
Zendik Zen"dik\, n. [Ar. zand[=i]k.] An atheist or unbeliever; -- name given in the East to those charged with disbelief of any revealed religion, or accused of magical heresies.
Maybe the set will consist of mainly creatures, artifacts and lands since maybe the world consists mainly of unbelievers? There would probably be enchantments, sorceries and instants, just in smaller numbers and with appropriate flavour - see Muraganda Petroglyphs
What about... Pirates seeking priceless artifacts in a primordial, Dinosaur-infested world! I would buy a case :D.

What on earth were they smoking when they named this set? Wotc's naming department has really sucked in recent years.
As far as speculation goes, the logo makes me think of Imperiosaur, although I'm not very excited for a dinosaur block, especially if it is green-centric.
Media is not making me steal. But in a way is like the story of the very hot girl with the short skirt teasing the old sick guy with a history of rape.
Well, that set logo looks like a prism, which would likely mean 5 colored. Yes, I know another multicolor block is unlikely, but it was my first impression.
As for the peril thing, it certainly makes me think of being chased by an overly large boulder. As soon as you grab the priceless artifact, it drops from the ceiling.
Mirage had great flavor, I thought (I think that Cadaverous Bloom is almost perfect in the macabre-ish flavor of the world), so hopefully if this is something tribal like that, it'll be just as good.
The expansion picture (not the symbol, the word art thing), also looks like a Jurassic Park type sign, so hopefully that's what it is.

See I think the set logo look like they're tying to make a 3d diamond or other jewel. I have a feeling the logo (whatever it is) = priceless treasure. Kinda like how the Odyssey set symbol represented the Mirari.
Also, pirate dinosaur theme be awesome and make me believe in MaRo again. (Whoever said fantasy could only be knights and dragons) Throw in poison and we got a deal. Toss in ninjitsu and you're just being silly.

Yea, Indiana Jonesish for sure. Sacrifice "Short Stuff" search your library for Indiana Jones and put him into play tapped.
But seriously, they have to do something different with this set to give it that "Adventure" feel. My first guess would be to somehow create chain event cards, somehow leading up to a grand effect I.E. finding a treasure. Similar to Figure of destiny but with other card types too.
Why does everyone want a pirate set on this thread?
Besides the word treasure, there is nothing pointing to that.
I've got several theories.
And last I checked, Indiana Jonesish stuff fits in more with the logo and the expansion symbol than pirates.
Agreed. A treasure-hunter adventureland setting fits all the info we have so far, but even then we've been off-base with exactly this before. I'm having flashbacks to the Shadowmoor graveyard speculation based on the logo.
I hope this isn't that. I kinda dig the idea of an Indiana Jones set.
This is the rumor mill, not the make a wish foundation.
For the whole African theme. Um. WAT? Serious, I have no problem with the suggestion of an African theme, but please, something better than "OMG IT SOUNDS LIEK ZANZIBAR" would be nice. I mean, who really think that guys at design were thinking "So we have an African themed set. Now all we have to do is take the name of an African nation, mess it up, and call it good."
On arabia redux. I'd love it, tbh. It'd finally give them a chance to explore other assets of arabic culture aside from the stereotypical ones, like hand cutting, thievery, and jihad. Seriously, it would be great. BUT. The set name art says nothing of the kind to me. It looks nothing like sign work found anywhere in the middle east (aside from the lack of arabic of course).
And that is why I'm guessing ancient stuff. Like prehistory style. The symbol looks like it, and the tagline works too. Plus, it would totally help bring emphasis back to 1-2 color and basic land matters. Or at least, it would be a much more conducive environment to said theme than others.
I agree with most of the comments about priceless treasure meaning artifacts. But instead of Aztec, how about mtg history? That is, the thran, before phyrexia and all.
Curious... Don't they plan a reprint of the artifacts cycle?
I think its an pirate/aztec/dino themed edition, where pirates, who look like the explorers of the old european civilisations (1800 a.c). they enter a new world thats themed like the aztec kingoms, with a special difference to the real aztecs, they ride on dinos. so the explorers would hount the artifician treasures of the aztecian peoples, but the ancient migthy dinos (with poisenous teathes/claws) will be the key to defend the treasures. wohoo :o.. let's start this adventure, so lets hook up on indiana jones ship and enter into the new world.
for all those who didn't realize that this was ironic and i was just adding all rumors till now thogether in hope to stop the rumor who base one wild speculations, all of the above writen stuff is ********.
wait till there are more anouncements from official side, or picbased news.
anyway my hope is in aztecian or old african based themes. the name zendikar sounds for me more african than aztecian.
Indiana-Jones-style with Imperiosaur and poison seems the most likely speculation so far.
I have to say though, I don't really like the expansion symbol. Simplicity is a good thing, but it just looks so... generic. The logo has tons of flavor to it, but the symbol is just a diamond-shape. It doesn't say anything about the set's theme or flavor, as far as I can tell.
In honour of all the pirate speculation (and, yes, I too, in the depths of my heart want to believe in a pirate theme:D), I wish to propose to wizards the following suggestion for prerelease card
This attachment is exactly why I do NOT want pirate themed sets. When a movie comes into the cinemas and it becomes a fad, everybody immediately associates it with that. God, when I think pirates, I think of Sid Meyer's Pirates!, not some disney peoplepuller. Granted, it was amusing, but not the best thing to happen to cinema since it was invented.
The same thing happened with Twilight, Harry Potter, everything. Impressionable kids take things from the movie and mess it up for the others. And to say that it makes you think of something (the title) is just weird. You're likely to be wrong anyway! You know why? It's a FANTASY world. There's people working on this who do it for a living. They are people that make money by imagining things. Not everything has to have a basis in the real world. It makes for inspiration, but not everything has to be "inspired" by our actual history. Most blocks aren't. And if anybody dares to bring up that abomination kamigawa, I am going to whip out my spatula and do some serious damage.

Anywho - personally - I concur that the name has a pre-colonial east Africa feel to it - perhaps Mirage meets Sinbad (?).
Here is an image which I feel summarises the flavour of the set.
