I'm looking for the actual decklists for these. I honestly don't think they come with the Planeswalker cards but I would like verification. Anyone care to post details? I don't want to link directly to a certain auction site but there are plenty of images of the packaging and some random cards.
I hadn't heard of these before. They couldn't be planeswalker decks without the walkers themselves though. They probably are mostly useless, unless the blue one comes with Cryptic Command. I may have to find a way to get them before.
How did you here about these? Are they being sold or just handed out as promos or what?

Before we start delving in and asking what kind of goodies these decks come with (Yes Cryptic Command would be nice), I've got to ask. Regular backs? or are these like the Worlds Tournment decks? From the pic it looks like the cards all have their respective set symbols (which is diffrent then the elves vs goblins or beatdown box sets) and more like what they do with the world decks. So just checking before we go nuts with these.

Did someone at comic con just MAKE these? Considering that they have no new symbol, that the packaging is pretty much just art (atypical for wizards), and beacuse wizards JUST released those plansewalker-themed starter boxes, it seems to me like someone drew the walkers, got some boxes printed, and made decks to sell. Is thast even legal? O_o;

Greedy Artists make me sick.
I propose that anyone offended by their commentary about Richie ("Good riddance that he is dead", ect.) NEVER credit these artists on custom cards where their art is used.
My cards will all have ComboFTW as the artist from now on.
No, they are perfectly legit (independant art/packaging wouldn't be possible, especially with the Wizards logo emblazoned on it like that). They look like starter decks... I'm sure they are complete junk, that don't even contain any rares from the look of it.
The Chandra vs. Jace deck still has me waiting patiently though. Even though I'm a Liliana fan at heart, and those starter box art covers are indeed pretty cool.
Yeah, sure. Truly excellent analysis based on seeing one card....
Well, whatever it is, it is not probably be even sold in our country. The packaging looks a bit weird (using styleguide-like images), and the fact that there are no new symbols points to the deck being made just for the con.

I found this under one of these auctions under as a description:

[B][FONT=Arial][SIZE=3]MTG Magic the Gathering Planeswalker 30 card Green Deck

15 Common Cards
13 Land Cards
These cards are in MINT, SEALED condition

If it's true they only have 2 uncommons, then this is pretty poor outside of the box art (which is fantastic, especially Jace and Chandra). This is a bigger rip off then the 30 card walmart blisters with one pack. At least I got a Vizzerdrix.

I'm bad at magic, you're bad at magic, and Level 4 Pro Ari Lax is terrible at magic.
It looks like a repackaging of the 15th Anniversary precons. Alot of people at my shop were annoyed that they have planeswalkers on the packaging but none in the decks. I really like the artwork but I'll pass on the decks.
Yeah, don't be flying over the top gang. Most cons have goodie bags with all sorts of freebies. It's not uncommon to get free boosters for other CCG's and such. This is simply a way for WOTC to gain new players without throwing actual boosters in the bags. It only makes sense to grab new players from a group of people who already love gaming. Expect to see them at GenCon this year.
All cards are black-bordered. The decks come with an insert that provides the basic rules of play, turn order, and a glossary on one side, and a color wheel detailing each color's basic tenets (white is "protection" and "order", blue is "deceit" and "intellect", etc) as well as showcasing the five plainswalkers (e.g. Jace Beleren, a young but brooding prodigy of mind-manipulating magic) on the other.
Kinda cool, about what I would expect from a give-away at a comic con.
Edit: Looked at one of the photos on an earlier page and saw that there was apparently a Blaze in his/her red deck. I wanted to clarify that the deck I opened did not contain Blaze.

What benefit do they get from throwing actual boosters in?
Someone, who has never seen Magic, opens a booster and sees a bunch of stuff that doesn't make sense. Their friend, who has never seen Magic, opens their booster and sees a bunch of stuff that doesn't make sense. They walk away confused.
vs.
Someone, who has never seen Magic, opens a mini-deck and sees a small group of cards and an insert telling them how to play with these cards. Their friend, who has never seen Magic, opens a mini-deck and sees a small group of cards and an insert telling them how to play with these cards. Later they can then try the game and see if they like it for free.
Honestly the only greedy thing in this seems like not putting some kind of rare in, but overall I'd guess its a good move. A crappy deck beats a random assortment of cards.

Wait you mean to tell me WOTC came up with a good marketing strategy this year? Someone must have been fired for this to happen given there track record with umm comemrcials, states etc.

That's exactly what I was saying. I was simply telling everyone that this is a common tactic to enclude booster packs in swag bags and that people here should not freak out too heavily over this since it's just a PR thing. Other CCGs have included boosters to promote their new and up and coming stuff. Pirates and EVE both did it at genCon two years ago. You better believe people were running around asking people to "trade" their boosters for other things like the cool deck boxes, dice, and sleeves, etc. Sometimes opening a booster full of pretty cards is enough to make someone buy more.
This trick by WOTC is an excellent tool to grab new players and especially grab back old or casual players who haven't bought a pack in years. Suddenly dudes who used to play are throwing down in the hallway like they did 10 years ago, while waiting for their next event to start up. It doesn't screw with collectors, it doesn't make hard core players want to "trade" them off of new players, and it's not going to start mini-riots like including a pack of Morningtide would do.
I just left preview night at the San Diego Comic-con and the decks are given out with all the other promo junk. No plainswalkers in them. I think Wizards is trying to make you feel like your the planeswalker. Like with the 10th. Edition starter packs. They have plainswalkers on the box but have 10th. edition boosters and land in them.
I got the white deck from a co-worker who went to Wizard World con in Chicago. One other thing to note about these is that they have cards from differing blocks (10th, lorwyn, and shadowmoor in my case). It doesn't make them much better, but it does help to get a person asking about the different set symbols.
they had these at san diego comic con. I got green, i didn't look through it too much.
but the wierdest thing was that WOTC had no presence at the con other than the promos. they also had a pack of mapestory in each bag.
but no booth, no tournaments, no events, nothing. just three random vendors selling cards and packs and independent artists who happened to draw magic cards at their own tables.
