Colored artifacts would be a good mechanic for Mirrodin.
Other possibillities that I see are the Possibillities of Contraptions and Riggers. Along with non-Artifact Colorless and maybe an Artifact Planeswalker?

An Artifact Planeswalker is extremely unlikely. I seriously doubt we will see one. I say this because of Tezzeret. If anyone was going to be an artifact planeswalker, it would be him. Because Wizards didn't print him as an artifact planeswalker, I don't think there will ever be one. Also, planeswalkers are supposed to be extremelly powerful. If any basic artifact destruction could kill one, planesalkers would lose a lot of the fancy shinyness that makes them planeswalkers.
On a different note, i would love to see Urza, Planeswalker. Something that simulates his insanity would be a lot of fun. I know they don't print die-rolling cards outside of Un-sets, but it would be interesting to see.

Back in my day, Wrath of God didn't kill Black Knight and that's the way we liked it. We also had to pay mana for our 1/1s. Kids and your Memnites. Get off my lawn!
Well they did give us a few shekels of riggers in lorwyn block, so maybe one could use those and create a rigger deck when the contraptions finally arive
Urza made a flying boat that can jump planes...
I'm pretty sure he's found a way to live for a while.
If he is one of the oldest Planeswalkers and almost imortal even after the Mending he would be 1 of the Multiverses most hunted individuals, especially since he will be running out of freinds right now.

I wanted to share a post I made in another topic since it ties to this.
The post is below this point.
Also there is the possibillity that this version of Colorless will have no Mana in their casting cost as I have been saying. Instead you would have other costs like this:
tap X Blue creatures to play Mind bender.
Which according to my own theories might have abillities like this:
Tap: Discard a Blue spell: add a counter to this card.
Tap: Tap 1 Blue permanant and remove 4 counters: Search your library for a Blue instant with a discard abillity and put it into your hand. Then shuffle your Library.
This is just a rough idea though.
That was the post what do you think?

... Wow, okay, sorry I was momentarily flabberghasted by the posts about how Urza is alive right now. It's quite simple you see, being as intelligent as he is:
He's dead as hell. He sacrificed the last of his energies to fire off the Legacy Weapon at the end of Apocalypse. In continuity, he's been dead for something akin to 500 years.

Even if he is alive which he probably is, I think he is probably Running for his life as planeswalkers new and old chase him for knowledge or life.
Edit sorry thought the tag was your signature.
The spoiler tag info makes sense since it would be insane for him to be alive right now.

The fact that the joke option is winning out over both real choices is an excellent reflection of what Contraptions and Steamflogger Boss were intended to be. It was a joke. I have a hard time believing that anyone who was in R&D at the time of Future Sight will allow it to ever be anything but a joke, perhaps except in Un-3, but even so, each time this gets brought up, it gets shot down.

sure the card still isn't great, but then why make Contraption and official Artifact type? Also I have a hard time believing that ANYTHING is impossible to happen if it existed in Future Sight.
Filter Lands were in Future Sight.... ONLY ☺☺☺☺ THEY PUT THEM IN THE NEXT BLOCK!
Colored Artifacts? Damn! Those are is the Alara Block!
And then this eerie Ghostfire connection that is bonding many different cards and stories together... making this upcoming block the big "thing" that everyone is talking about....
And you want me to just assume that this will never happen?

Given the past, it seems very very feasible to me... especially if we are destined to return to Mirrodin.

Before Barren Glory was even printed, MaRo had said that it was Standard-printable. Show me a column on dailymtg where they say that Hybrid-Filter Lands were a joke. Show me a column on dailymtg where they say colored artifacts were a joke.
Now, let me show you column after column on dailymtg where they outright say, in almost as many words, that contraptions and Steamflogger Boss were a joke.
I'd say that all of R&D would have to get run over by a dozen busses, each one driven by a team of dwarves before we see contraptions outside of silver-border land. If you can't accept this, you should prepare yourself for a tough life of disappointment, at least as far as Steamfloggers are concerned.
Also: anything is impossible? I guess I should hold on to my Goyfs for when they're reprinted.

I'm not sitting here preaching that this WILL happen, and I'm not saying that I am going to kill myself if they don't print Contraptions and Riggers... I'm just saying that, despite the "joke", it is an area which CAN be built off of. It IS fresh design space that has yet to be tapped.
Sure, it prly won't happen.... at least not anytime soon. BUT IT COULD.
Also, there is no reason to be a smartass about it. You're post seemed very intelligent and thoughtful until your last line... this is the speculation forum after all, so I'm pretty sure I'm aloud to, um, idk, Speculate.
None of those articles say it was *only* a joke. It still served, like all the futureshifted cards, as glimpses of directions Magic might take in the future. In that sense, all of them are jokes, but some have actually come to pass. Nothing stops WotC from eventually making Contraptions come to pass. If they do, that someone once intended it as a joke is irrelevant.
Phelddagrif was a joke, and then they made Questing Phelddagrif. Anyone claiming they'd never make another Pheldagrif because it was a joke would have been wrong.
I hate to say it, but the "color text" style wording on Obsidian Fireheart really helps this cause.
After all, before that we'd really have needed "assemble" and "Contraption" to be defined terms for Steamflogger Boss to actually do anything. Now all we need is:
Firespray Rigger 1R
2/1
Creature - Goblin Rigger
When ~ comes into play, put a Contraption token artifact into play. (It assembles this Contraption even if it is no longer in play when this ability resolves.) T, Sacrifice X Contraptions: ~ deals 2 damage to X target creatures and/or players.

After all, before that we'd really have needed "assemble" and "Contraption" to be defined terms for Steamflogger Boss to actually do anything.
I don't know about this. I think there's a limit to what WotC would have this flavorful reminder text do. They are, in a sense, inviting a game definition of "burn" by putting it on that card, even if it's in italics. And, I don't think you want to define "assemble" and "enters the battlefield" as synonymous. That would be very confusing. We know that, if Steamflogger Boss's ability is ever going to function without errata, "assemble" has to be clearly defined as a keyword action. Defining it as a flavorful equivalent of ETB is a bad idea. Not that ETB can't be a part of it, but it can't be the same.
Alright, I haven't waded into this "assemble a contraption" business since a week or two after Future Sight was spoiled, but knowing a few new tricks that WotC has employed since then, I am going to make this semi-educated guess about what it could look like:
Working Assembly 3
Artifact - Assembly
This permanent gets +2/+2 as long as it's a creature.
T: Target artifact creature gets +1/+1 until end of turn.
(To assemble a Contraption, put a 0/0 Contraption artifact creature token onto the battlefield with all Assembly abilities you control added to it. It has haste. Exile it at end of turn.)
There is still the issue of why the Rigger is doing the assembling rather than you, but it's as close as I've got for now...
Rigger Man-Dude 1R
Creature- Person Rigger Assemble - 3, T: "3, T: This Contraption deals 1 damage to target player" (Put an artifact Contraption token with "3, T: This Contraption deals 1 damage to target player" onto the battlefield)
1/1
A little awkwardly worded, but just a rough guess.
The use of "burn" on Obsidian Fireheart isn't meant to signal any new "burn" word. It's purely for reminder text purposes. They've also allowed themselves to loosen up a bit on strict wording (such as using "devoured") when it adds to flavor but causes no rules amibguity.
The change to Moriok Rigger was just a happy accident. Steeamflogger Boss suggested the existence of the creature type but no such creature existed. When they went through the great race renaming, they were lucky enough to have a card that already had Rigger in the name. So it was obvious it should now be a Rigger, because if they ever were going to introduce Riggers, it would have to be changed then to be a Rigger anyway, or remain a source of confusion.
I do wish people could stop taking it seriously though.
I think the easiest way to grasp the concept that "Its just a joke, they aren't doing anything with it" is to put yourself into the shoes of the Wizards developer. They were designing a set that would hint at dozens of sets to come for years, and they knew very well that people would be deconstructing cards to find out clues for future sets- so they intentionally put in clues like Tarmogoyf with his planewalkers/tribal, and kithkin, and yes, they put in ghostfire. They did this not just to hint at sets they knew they would do, but explore mechanics possibilities that they hadn't even thought of yet that they could later expand. Thats one of the things that made future sight easily the best designed set we've had in ages, maybe all of magic. But come on, if you were in their shoes, could you resist the urge to throw in a red herring?
TBH if I was mark, I would never have revealed that it was actually just a joke, I would have kept it quiet and enjoyed a chuckle every time someone wonders on about it. But I guess the joke got stale fast, and they did kind of ruin it by making it a rare (and using up people's rare slot)

Just to add and clarify, let's say we have this card--
Angelic Knight 6W
whenever a creature enters the battlefield gain 2 life
flying,flanking,tranple
5/5
What do you think the type line should read
creature- angel cleric
or
creature- angel knight
If a creature type is in the name it's in the type line, that is why Moriok Rigger is a Rigger.
