Will all of the cards in this set be foil, or will the standard distribution of foil cards still apply? And when shall this set be officially announced on WotC's website? I hope to see an official announcement for it, soon, to have reliable information about it.

Out of the blackness and stench of the engulfing swamp emerged a shimmering figure. Only the splattered armor and ichor-stained sword hinted at the unfathomable evil the knight had just laid waste.
Then they should be happy to see that WOTC is willing to take steps to insure the continued health of the game. Because if the price barrier for entry climbs higher, participation falls lower, as Type I readily showed us.
Plus, anything they might lose on their stockpile of 'Goyf's they'll more than make up in sales of boosters.

Pretty much all of those are simple. Play->Cast and Removed from the game->Exile. Try to find ones where the wording change actually changed functionality, and we'll talk.
Oh, I thought he was talking about playing a spell that is countering a spell with counters on it as it comes into play, but I see you guys were just discussing whether he was flashing a creature with flash in order to flash a flashback or just flashing a creature with flash but not needing flash in order to flashback a spell without flash.

Can you name any specific cards whose functionality changed with their wording. I cannot recall any without specifically searching for such cards.

City of Brass will be nice for Limited. WTF. Dis set. With RTR into Modern Masters all at once, I don't think Magic will ever reach such a hype moment again.
I found it funny that he mentioned the small print run, and then made the comparison of it being small against RTR's numbers. Well, even a lower percentage of one of, if not the most, printed set ever can still be sizable. The other one was the comment about telling your LGS to set aside a box for drafting. So the set is designed to be drafted, but it doesn't sound like the run is going to be large enough to sell and some "extras" for a handful of drafts.
do we have any confirmation on how much the boxes will be? I didn't notice it in the articles
Okay, MSRP for packs is $6.99, there are 24 packs per box... Are you still following me? This is complicated stuff! Now do the math, $6.99 per pack times 24 packs per box is 6.99*24 which equals...
Holy bat-nipples bat man! Thanks to the power of basic mathematics we know that the MSRP per booster box of Modern Master is $167.76! Gee, thanks math!
I use the Duels Of The Planeswalkers layout, though I'm right-handed and keep my deck and GY to the left. I dare you to ask me how tempting it is to hold flying creatures in a floating pattern over the table.

But stores don't charge MSRP for every single pack when selling boxes. The person you quoted is wondering how much boxes will be. I don't know how this eluded your mind when you made that post.
Also, Aaron Forsythe's article went up 30 minutes ago. Is that a new art City of Brass?

Read back a couple pages. A box doesn't have an official MSRP other then the combined total MRSP of the packs. Given the nature of the size and content of this set it is not unreasonable for the boxes to start at "MSRP" and higher.
My lgs (which is run by a dick) tells us he sells at a discount.
You buy boxes for $142.50.
What is it with people's reading comprehension these days? I was talking about the MSRP, not the price I pay for boxes. MSRP for a booster box is roughly $140, making it one of the few products that all but the most miserly stores sell for well under MSRP. I do not pay MSRP for boosters.
Screw that, lets have a near legacy like format and follow the major tenet of "no reserved list".
Yet another thing that needs to be printed on the packs: MODERN IS NOT LEGACY LITE!! You want Legacy power, then play legacy. Let Modern develop it's own power level and identity. What you are asking for is not even close to realistic.
Why do they have to release this after Modern season? Now I'm just gonna feel worse for buying Goyfs now. The point of the originals retaining most of their value is valid though, so I'm not too upset. On the contrary, I look forward to getting a box of this.
Keep in mind that if prices are going to be impacted (a fact I do not put much weight in) then they have to have plenty of lead-in time, especially for a draftable set. Printing them is not cheap and easy, and squeezing in another is probably complicated. Besides, they do not want more than one "set" new at the same time as they will leech customers from each other.
Since this will be a 229 card set, I think we can reasonably expect 30-40 staples (between mythics-commons), a good deal of old favorites, and a lot of bulk commons. While I don't think it would be unreasonable to look for Goyf, Vendillion Clique, and some other modern favorites, I wouldn't expect multiple modern staples, like Bob and KotR, to be in this same release. If they plan to release this on a yearly basis, they'll want to hold a couple of staples for future release.
What makes you think that this would be a yearly product? It will put enough financial stress on other sets next year, there is no way they will make that a regular thing. No, this set will be a one shot, and any cards that wizards wants to put in players' hands that are not going in an upcomming set will be printed here.
This is meant to help ease financial and availability problems with Modern, so why would we see anything but cards worth playing in Modern. This set will contain multiple Modern staples. Does that mean they will all be Bob scale? No, of course not, but we are not going to see jank like Shock, Murder, or Battleflight Eagle. This set has been designed for limited play, but I doubt that we will see the same kind of garbage that limited usually forces in to sets.
I also think people should be prepared that not every card will be a bomb money card (hopefully at least the mythics will be since there's only 15) but expect a few duds of some sort (steamflogger boss anyone??)
Lets look at what AaFo actually wrote
"First and foremost, the set is packed with the greatest hits from over six years' worth of expansions. The power-level of the cards in these boosters is very high compared to the average, and we didn't want to make every other set we have in the pipeline comparatively unattractive from a price standpoint by charging too little for this one"
"But we didn't have a great solution for getting more copies of cards that are too powerful to reintroduce to Standard into circulation."
Neither one. Every pack will have exactly one foil card.
In that case, I do hope that the foil cards are cards that have never been printed as foils before, as is the case with the Premium Decks and From the Vault series.

Nothing eluded my mind when I made the post. He asked how much boxes will be, I stated what boxes will be (if sold at MSRP).
I think it's going to be up to individual stores to price out their boxes. I do think a good number will be selling at MSRP because of the "limited print run."
I use the Duels Of The Planeswalkers layout, though I'm right-handed and keep my deck and GY to the left. I dare you to ask me how tempting it is to hold flying creatures in a floating pattern over the table.

I'm sure Wizards is feeling good now they can fully control their own format.
And on a personal note, finally I can get a Tarmogoyf, but that flavor text is really ugly.

Lolnopereservedlist. I'm pretty sure Wizards is ditching Legacy and Vintage in favor of Modern because they can reprint the stuff for it.
Edit for mods: that first part is coming off a little harsh, sarcasm doesn't convene well on the internet... :/

There is NO reason why cards like Steamflogger Boss, or Grave Pact could fit those descriptions.
Then they should really diversify.
