These are the new arts for those who can't see the site...
Centaur Courser
Palace Guard
Stormfront Pegasus
Come on man, attach to the post!
Removed the images that were already in the first post.
The art for the guards and the pegasus blow my mind. Absolutely beautiful. I will have to use these in some deck just so I can stare at the artwork! Good job Wizards artists!
I'm going to remain politely skeptical for now. I don't think I'll believe it till I see one in a pack but that's just me. If the bolt is back G/R beats and RDW will be pretty darn fast come m10. Hopefully it is at common so I can have a nutty sealed pool(plus it would be $5+ if it's uncommon).
Sphinx Amabassador sounds like a search creature or a lord for sphinxes. hoping for former. Anyway, art is cool. Bolt means red burn just got faster by a turn or two maybe they're dropping both incinerate and shock from m10? just speculating cuz incenerate + bolt + flame javelin + banefire is way to much burn...

Yeah, we got an extremely powerful spell that deals 4 damage at instant speed for RRR. Surely we can make it deal one less damage and cut RR from its mana cost.
And yeah, I'm being sarcastic.
I really hope they know what they're doing here.
4 damage is significantly better than 3 damage in Magic. Otherwise, you could say the same thing about Incinerate. Sure, Incinerate doesn't cost R, but it's still "half" the cost of Flame Javelin, for "only" one less damage.

I think they have to drop both, for set size reasons, etc.
They can make another new burn spell, and probably will.

This is amazing... RDW and R/G aggro is going to be sick. BBE just got some buddies in Ball Lightning and Lightning Bolt. So black gets Duress. Red gets Lightning Bolt. Do we think that each color is getting a BA old school reprint? Or is white's money maker Silence? This could mean blue gets Counterspell or Brainstorm. And as for green, I'm not too sure. Not Goyf, that's at a whole new power level...

I agree with all of this. I think they want a flagship low cost card for each colour, it almost seems. I actually wouldn't be surprised to see Counterspell back at this point. Tarmogoyf won't be reprinted, though, I don't think it feels right or fits the whole basic Core Set ethos. Maybe green will get a really cheap, powerful weenie or oversized midrange creature.
Rick, were you ok? The "half" he meant is actually rather accurate. One colorless mana plus one colored mana would pretty much equal the half of three colored mana. In Magic design terms, this logic isn't too far from reality.
Lightning Bolt would totally be an uncommon if it's in M10. I don't care how much people would want it to be common. If it's a common, this indeed proves they have balls, like Shaharazad said.;)
Now i dont have to spend 5 dollars on a lightning bolt
Really? I think you still might be, if not more as tournament players drive up prices pretty fiercely and LB is very playable in all formats. Especially if it's printed here as an Uncommon or Rare.
So red gets Ball Lightning and Bolt, and the other colors get... nothing of note yet? Makes me wish I was a red player (as both are indeed pretty exciting). So far other than those two cards and the duals, I don't see anything that has grabbed me enough to get me to go to prerelease. It's still early, but after all of the hype we were given about how great this Core Set was going to be it's a yawner... even if each color gets two impressive reprints they'll have to be really good to live up to the hype.

I don't think at this point in time, goyf would be a complete house in standard, remember, it lost a lot of power due to the cycling of bob, and after that, it saw play in one deck
this isn't a goyf is terrible rant, just saying, with bolt and putrid leech in standard, they'res already a lot of power
(not saying they're better than goyf at all)

I added both.
Good point on the Grove, but I think there is still a chance (unlike the tree) that is could be something else.
Doesn't hurt to keep it off the spoiler for now though, right?
Edit:
The definition of power creep is that cards are becoming more powerful over time.
Reprinting an old, powerful card doesn't seem to fit IMO.
Removing shock and incinerate in exchange for Bolt seems fair IMO. Red deck is still doing ok, has been for all of the life of 10th.
It also seems that this set came with plenty of reevaluations of older cards "Is this too powerful to be reprinted? Is this too good in limited at this rarity? etc"
This core is shaking things up in a much bigger way than just being half new cards.
The half that is reprints seems to have many more WOAH cards than recent cores. (Bolt, Duress, Ball, PW's, B/W Knight)
ok so there were rumors of lightning bolt coming back that started from some japanese shop. also rumored from that shop was damnation. any more weight to that now? hmm...
on a non-bolt related side note, thank GOD that demon isn't reiver demon. if its playable i may lose my mind with happiness.... oh wait its a demon... it isn't playable... (yes tombstalker was rad, but...)

Thing is, I have never seen a Flame Javelin played for more than three mana in constructed. And at three mana, it's a VERY powerful card.
Why they think they can print a card that deals 1 less damage for a third of the cost is beyond me.
I think they got balls man they got guts!!!, I have my playset and im happy but damn brother i dont think ida told that one. Let us find out when the spoiler on wizards comes out!!! Then i woulda wet my pants then!!!
ok so there were rumors of lightning bolt coming back that started from some japanese shop. also rumored from that shop was damnation. any more weight to that now? hmm...
Oh boy. That wouldn't surprise me at this point. And it would be enough to completely ruin M10 for me.
I don't think at this point in time, goyf would be a complete house in standard, remember, it lost a lot of power due to the cycling of bob, and after that, it saw play in one deck

Hate to be a pain... but the huge difference is that Goyf and Bolt is a R/G deck. Putrid Leech and bolt is a R/B/G deck... Tri-color is going to be harder to swing when Lorwyn rotates. Goyf, BBE, Ball Lightning, and Lightning Bolt. Seems like a solid sleigh deck rolling around. Now replace Goyf in my last statement w/ Putrid leech. Seems GOOD, not GREAT.
Edit: I have a feeling Damnation is in too... Not a big fan since I'm such a *** supporter (hmmm look @ my name). But this would lead for some sick B/R control-ish deck too w/ Duress, Bolt, and Damnation (not to mention other fun stuff like Blightning). M10 is getting me REALLY excited I jumped back into t2 last month...

...cause they have printed it before and are gutting a lot of the chaff from the Core Set? Seems fair to me, as Seds said, to cut Incinerate and Shock for just Bolt. It will get played in any current deck that plays incinerate = no net loss or gain accept for efficiency, and it will help a seemingly powerful RDW archetype that many are drooling about already.

Bravo.
Next big question is: Counterspell?
At this point, I wouldn't be suprised.

On spoiled card wishlisting and 'should-have-had'-isms:
There goes the funny farm now all we need is counterspell to return and i might just have a cow:o:o:o

I like 4/4s for 7.
Yes, but Not only Lightning Bolt, but also Snapping Drake, which is also confirmed on that page.

ps I love this friggin' game!!!!
its not rare material (+ its been printed in like a gazillion copies already), but if its common that would be insane
Now im just happy i got myself a Playset of "Blitzschlag" (German FBB) bolts
I added both.
