4/4 for 5 is decent already. Add in THAT ability.. AND untapping?? It being mythic makes me want to cry tho. The only thing keeping from being $30 is that the deck that wants him will probably only want 2.
Look at me! I can bold words and use CAPSLOCK to emphasize my point! Hopefully I can trick people into ignoring that I completely have no evidence in my post to back up my claims if I make it look fancy enough.
I don't think he's made to untap and reuse his ability. I think he's meant to use his ability to remove an opponents creature, untap, then attack unblocked.
I'm so happy my esper deck just got repeatable creature destriction.
Everybody is. But its a Mythic. Good luck getting one. I guess I am just gonna have to hope I get lucky and open one at the prerelease, or in a subsequent draft. No way I am paying the price this guy is likely to hit.
I don't have any hard numbers on this, but I'm targeted more often than a black guy driving a beat-up sedan with a broken tail-light and no license plate, and Cy's well aware of that.
Hell yes, a nice body on a blue critter, Wizard type can be good in Wiz control, going Esper colors obviously, as well as basic Esper builds. Very strong ability, the untap can be cool, but in concert with all the other shenanigans that Esper is capable of, man, very solid critter, very resilient vs. direct damage.

You're definitely going to want 4 in your deck, because the first three that hit the table will draw every answer your opponent has. I see this card as enabling other powerful cards that are not seen as quite a threat as this guy - he'll allow other nasties to get under the radar because this guy has to be dealt with.
OMG!
I really wanna get a few of these guys but I am sad that he is a mythic. I mean yeah he certainly feels like something that should be mythic but dang I only have so much money.
I really gotta make a Sharuum EDH deck now.

a small sentence for you to read while you ignore my post.
wow... just wow. Mortify was one of my favorite removal spells ever, up there with vindicate, but mortify was just cooler somehow. And this guy walks around with a staff full o em.
when I first saw it, I thought it sucked, but then remembered it works with Etherium Sculptor. this guy is easily a 4/4 for 3U, which is above the curve already.
Take your monoblack deck, then set aside 14 swamps. Add 4 Creeping Tar Pits, 4 Darkslick Shores, 4 Drowned Catacombs, and 2 Jwar isle Refuge and add 4 Jace, the Mindsculptors. Your monoblack deck is instantly better. Better yet, drop those refuges, throw in some islands and some mana leaks, and lo and behold, you're now playing a real deck. Congratulations. Welcome to the world of competitive M:TG.
The coolest thing since sliced bread... Geaorge Carlin would smack me for saying that (props to anyone who knows what I'm talkin' about).
Flavor-wise, this is interesting and makes sence that it's a mythic:
I once read that a vanilla 1/1 would represent the common, average person. A gray ogre is a 2/2, a hill giant is a 3/3. Even a magical 30-40 foot tall djinn, Juzam Djinn is a 5/5.
So this mythical power-house of fun removal is physically stronger than a giant, yet only sleightly weeker that the grand & mighty Juzam???
I don't buy it - so flavor wise, someone explain to me how he's so strong and tough. I do not thing he should be a human, that's all. Maybe an elemental, a titan, a djinn/geenie (it could work), or even be the first blue giant.
Don't get me wrong, I want a place set. I just do not thing anything mortally human in this world could be this big. It would have to be partially mutant, a mix breed w/ another kind, a super hero (think Wolverine or the like), or angelic/demonic in nature.

from a flavor standpoint, it can obliterate any glamour or beast it wants to. that 4 power and 4 toughness are represented by the magic it uses and the etherium that comprises its body.

I'm not sure how I feel about this card...don't get me wrong, it's very strong, something just feels weird about it. I do enjoy it's interaction with Rings of Brighthearth, along with the card the puts artifacts directly into play? Esper might turn around and become a more viable standard deck with this set.

Well, I'd say that it was rather a product of CaptainBlack's hints and collective effort of several people here and here ;)...
But thanks for summarizing it and therefore putting the final piece of this rumor season into place.
The card is a nice embodiment of what non-walker, non-legend mythic should be.
Let this great clan rest in peace (2001-2011)
Sorry. Meant to say in regards to Creature type and P/T. Will change.
