I wouldnt spend time trying to assemble the combo it would just be a nice interaction. I agree that it be too cute to tutor for. It would be a nice endgame to draw into... but thats all I really expect from it.
I guess that could be decent. Like I said, try it out and let me know.
And yes, the Swords are a great way to end a game quickly. I actually don't run LoE, but even putting them on RSD is usually plenty of damage. Strapping one of them on Skithiryx will 2 hit kill people even if he's not being copied by Mimeoplasm. I've been wanting to fit Sword of Light and Shadow and possibly even Sword of War and Peace in here because the Swords are just so freaking good. War and Peace can end games in a hurry and lifegain from both is actually really helpful to prevent me from dying because of all the life I use doing other things. Obviously the recursion from Light and Shadow is awesome in a deck like this.
Deadeye Navigator + Palincron or Great Whale
Nim Death + Sac Land + P or GW
Corpse Dance + Sac Land + P or GW
Extra Turn spell + Eternal + recursion
Tooth and Nail
Survival
Insidious dreams
Of the three above, the last two are nearly 1-card combos.
Bazaar of Baghdad every Mimeodeck ever. It's free loots.
Primetime is gone Bribery sucks now. lol.
Sticking draw card permanents while ramping into death cloud is always a good thing.
This definitely looks like a strong combo deck; However, my list is more of aggro control deck focused on ETB effects. I could certainly run those combos if I wanted, but neither I nor my playgroup would enjoy them very much.
Bazaar of Baghdad is a card I would love to have for this deck, but there is absolutely no way I could afford it. It's one of the most expensive non power 9 cards around.
Didn't find anything by way of searching the thread, but wanted to see if anyone had tested Night Soil as a bit of graveyard hate/draw. It gets
rid of things in opposition yards that are worhtless to copy with The Mimeoplasm and for an additional 1 mana, we can draw 2 cards with Skullclamp.
I've seen a few posts asking about GY hate, and thought this might be a viable source. thoughts........?

It's a decent card for a lot of decks, but I think we have better graveyard hate options, since we're running black. I would rather run something like Withered Wretch, Nezumi Graverobber, or Scavenging Ooze since they come in on a body, meaning they can be searched up with creature tutors or recurred much more easily. Graverobber and Ooze also have other effects, such as recursion and lifegain, respectively. As I have said in the past, I don't really need a lot of grave hate in my meta, though if you do need it then Night Soil would be a fine choice. I just feel like there are enough better options that I wouldn't want to run it.
Trying out the Kamigawa Legendary Lands that boost Legendary Creatures since they're basically straight up better than basics.

The deck runs a small Trinket Mage package. If you wanted to include more graveyard hate it seems sweeter to me if they're 1 CMC artifacts. My favorite is the classic Tormod's Crypt. Its free to play and use so it gets you out of the stickiest situations. Then there is Nihil Spellbomb which is good because it can draw you a card when used. There are lots of choices though like Relic of Progenitus and Scrabbling Claws.
Not really anything new lately. The Kamigawa lands have been fine, but not anything special. I'm really looking forward to seeing what we get from Simic and Dimir in Gatecrash, but we'll probably have to wait a couple months for that. I'm also planning to update the budget deck as it hasn't been worked on in a while.
I'm thinking of cutting either Seedguide Ash or Indrik Stomphowler for Living Death. But I would still love a card that draws me cards consistently or draws me a bunch at one time.
I'm thinking of cutting either Seedguide Ash or Indrik Stomphowler for Living Death. But I would still love a card that draws me cards consistently or draws me a bunch at one time.
Living Death is definitely awesome and has led to many blowouts, especially when combined with Bojuka Bog and other graveyard hate. I would endorse running it in any Mimeoplasm deck because it leads to a ton of wins from otherwise difficult situations.
For a consistent source of draw, I would look at something such as Rhystic Study, Mind's Eye, or even Necropotence. Each has their own benefits and downsides, so it's up to you which you prefer. Another card that has potential is Underworld Connections. It's nearly always inferior to Phyrexian Arena, but the ability to control when you draw does give it a potential upside, as well as being able to choose not to lose the 1 life if it's going to matter. There are actually quite a few options for consistent draw.
If you want a huge, all-at-once draw spell, I'd go for Recurring Insight. In a multiplayer game it will usually draw you a minimum of 5-6 cards, and then it comes back again next turn to draw 5-6 more. It's really one of the best big draw spells in terms of bang for your buck (or, in this case, mana).
I haven't done much with this deck lately because I'm working on some new decks, but keep the posts coming if you guys have anything to say.
The OP list is running survival of the fittest. I believe both Body Double and Volrath's Shapeshifter get a divinity counter for ETB from being cast from hand. Why not include at least one of these guys and black Myojin? You can remove the divinity counter EOT of the opponent that comes before you, then use Mime to clone anything that gets discarded. That way you aren't "combo-ing out" yet are getting big value.
It seems whatever comes before combo-ing out and isn't MLD is considered good? Well. Then this is good.
Have you guys considered running Victimize? It's cheap, works well with all the ETB creatures, gets dudes in the graveyard, and lets you get use out of the early game creatures drawn in the late game. Could warrant an inclusion.
On a related note, I have been playing a Mimeoplasm list really similar to the one here. I have been busy and unable to post it but I will try to throw it up soon for some input.

That's actually a pretty cool idea. I never thought of doing that before. The biggest downside is that the Myojin is basically a dead card outside of Body Double or hardcasting it? Does it get a divinity counter if you copy it with The Mimeoplasm?

Victimize is a solid card, but it seems a bit to conditional to me. The ability to get back 2 creatures is awesome, but the fact that it forces you to sac a creature, returns the creatures to play tapped, and can only target your graveyard, all contribute to making it significantly less versatile than Reanimate, Necromancy, or Animate Dead. I have recently stopped running some things like Beacon of Unrest because I want my reanimation to be as efficient as possible without sacrificing versatility. I believe that the ones I currently run do the best job of that, but feel free to try and convince me otherwise.

Unfortunately not from the command zone. However, Myojin is not a dead card at 8CC in a meta of players who don't do combo. If that's your playgroup, paying 8CC to discard everyone's hand but yours is pretty nuts. Gotta be careful though, people can respond to the counter trigger.
If your playgroup doesn't do combo, you might as well include both flash lands if you attempt this idea. And maybe have something printed out showing people the clones in fact get divinity counters.
And outside of shakashema, your hand can't get hit by their clones.
In reference to the spot removal discussion, Sever the Bloodline could be an option for those who want the exile portion. It's a bit expensive and is a Sorcery, but it is a two for one and can potentially hit multiple dudes. Something to consider.

It seems like it would be awesome vs tokens. I do love Massacre Wurm for that match-up as well.
I like Sever a lot, but my deck wants to be faster and more broken then Sever most of the time.
I am I big fan of going lethal with an Invisible Stalker pumped with Lord of Extinction. I have been looking for a backup buff for that combo. I have also been looking for another potential mill card to ad in. I must say, I think I have finally found it. Thank you WotC
BTW... I have finally added my Mime deck to my sig. Feel free to link it to the other deck's list if you like. I have spent a great deal of time, money and effort into tuning it and will gladly respond to anyone who posts.
It was pretty sweet, especially because it could only happen with the Refuge out in play.
Refuge has fueled some pretty outrageous plays for me and it's bananas what you can do when it's in play. Sadly, with the banning of Primeval it becomes a lot less frequent that I see the card
Really what I came here for was your guys impression on the new Simic Guildmage? Shrinking Mimeo to draw some cards seems sweet and I was curious if I was the only one.

Think you're talking about Zameck Guildmage. And yes, he's totally abusable when combo'd with Lorescale Coatl, Corpsejack Menace or even the new Simic Fluxmage.
Personally, I'm pretty excited about Consuming Aberration, Lazav, Dimir Mastermind, and to an extent: Duskmantle Guildmage.

If budget isn't an option you will notice all of us run Survival of the Fittest for that purpose. LoL troll is just too slow either way to be honest. Unless your Mime list has a massive creature list I doubt it will make an impact.
What do you guys think of the new Pongify? Is it worth running two of them? I mean its like the cheapest and most versatile creature removal in our colors. I was considering Slaughter Pact for a while but now they made that new card.
I guess that could be decent. Like I said, try it out and let me know.
