so as the title says, im basically building a Grimgrin sacrifice engine deck. basically im looking for cards that interact with "going to the grave" or "if a creature you control enters the graveyard do ____" like Butcher of Malakir or Reaper of the Abyss and Grave Pact. Great cards that facilitate this are of course Grimgrin (so i can untap him and then the other effects activate) as well as, believe it or not, Stitcher's Apprentice (create the homunculus then sacrifice it and it activates all my effects.).
so theres my theme. my problem is that i dont know all the possible Blue and Black cards i can play that helps my theme. i am gonna buy the commander deck that has the mimeoplasm in it because it contains alot of cards that i can use it for, but i still dont know what else i can fit in. can anybody help me out? any help is appreciated.
here is the list im working with now.

1 Stitcher's Apprentice 1 Army of the Damned

I am running a Grimgrin themed deck with experiments and mad scientist undertones, so there are definitely a lot of fun things you can do.
Rooftop Storm and Gravedigger allow your general to be as big as you want and can trigger all sorts of shenanigans.
However, a favorite card of mine for Grimgrin has to be Carrion. This card is amazing. Get Grimgrin huge or even moderate and you can split him up into a plenty of little insects. This gives you more sac outlets or even, when paired with boosters like Bad Moon or Coat of Arms, can give you another veritable win-con. Plus the flavor of seeing your general burst into a million little insects is so very reminiscent of Oogie Boogie.

I'm not sure how that works without a second Gravedigger (or similar effect). You can't bring back Gravedigger with itself.
But yes, if you have a sacrifice deck and a zombie general, Rooftop Storm is a must. Sac Grimgrin to Nantuko Husk an infinite number of times for an infinitely large Husk (or Carrion Feeder, or Phyrexian Ghoul).
I'm running a similar style list (as seen in my signature) and im running patriarchs bidding. It alows my to bring back all of the zombies that I sac with grim. Also I'm running sword of vengance. It keeps grim from tapping when he attacks. Also, quick questuion...can you use his ability more than once per turn? Or not since he gets untapped already.

Tombstone Stairwell and Dawn of the Dead have great interactions with Grimgrin. Dawn of the Dead is especially strong if you keep a good suite of enters-the-battlefield effects critters around to continually ressurect, then sac to Grimgrin before they exile. The stairwell just stuffs Grimgrin like a zombie turducken, at an absurd rate.
Also, I'd suggest running Lightning Greaves or the Swift Boots from M12 (or both). Grimgrin is a 3 turn clock, so giving him haste can really put the opponent under pressure (as well as allowing you to use Grimgrin as clutch creature removal).
Additionally, if you go for token creatures to keep Grimgrin running, I highly suggest Helm of Possession, since Grimgrin gives you a sac outlet to help you cycle through your opponents' creatures.
Dimir House Gaurd, this makes everything a 2 of, its also a sac engine Damnation, sweepers Nevinyrral's Disk , more sweepers for things B/U cant't deal with Grave Pact, seriously no one said this? This is probally the reason you want to use Grimgrin. Jace, the Mind Sculptor, somepeople dont like PWers in EDH, i do. Works very well with "put to top of library effects" Diabolic Tutor
Depending on the amount of zombies you want to use, Endless Ranks of the Dead
Check out my Zombie Primer for anything else! Although i havn't made the INN changes maybe there is something else for you! ...This is pretty much half my Grimgrin deck
Given up magic because a)its a waste of money b)it sucks the joy out of life c)im doing more interesting things than tapping pieces of plastic that have no intrinsic value.
I encourage you to do the same. Instead of FNM try Friday Night Something Spontaneous. Instead of thousands of hours and dollars on plastic imagine it with a significant other or friends sharing something meaningful. I randomly typed a new password, so bon voyage itches i encourage you to follow suit! Cheers
Agree with Blackjack. The fact that Grim will only be 0, then 2, then 4, etc is more than worth it. I was just making sure he knew that's how it works.

Skullclamp!
Extra Sac Outlets can really help:
Phyrexian Tower
High Market
Ashnod's Altar
Teamed up with the sac outlets, the greatest recursion ever has got to be Corpse Dance
Self-recurring creatures can help fuel the engine:
Bloodghast
Nether Traitor
Reassembling Skeleton
And token makers like Bitterblossom, and anything that brings creatures with it like Grave Titan, Wurmcoil Engine (in a way). Titan and Wurmcoil also combo for infinite mana and tokens with Ashnods Altar + Nim Deathmantle

Not infinite, but add Corpse Dance to that mix = Bring back Digger and another zombie for 4B and sac to Grimgrin all day long.

Yes, because the commander is an additional cost.
I can't think of an example off the top of my head, but if you had a zombie with a kicker, the kicker is not free with rooftop storm out.
Perhaps a more clear example is the Skaab Ruinator
Yes it does (as long as it's from the command zone instead of from hand), but even with that, it's well worth it.
