Anyone know how to kick a player out of the game lobby? I created a game, had 2 people join but one of them closed cockatrice, without leaving the lobby, so they were gone, but still took up space, thus preventing the game from going on. Does anyone else run into this problem?

Just remake a game. As far as I know there's no way to kick a player.
There are still more than a few people with picture-related problems. Any help on this?
Hmm, I've been trying to find the potential problem to this but currently to no avail. If it helps, make sure your "Pictures directory" option is set so it goes the "pics" folder. (The reason I say this is because I have the option checked to download card images on the fly, yet I don't see any pictures physically downloaded onto my computer)
Don't forget you can let mbruker know about this problem on their forums as well. Seems like a few other people that are having this problem are also on Macs as well.
I am curious to see how fast they add in MBS stuff. Also I have found maybe 5 cards I randomly don't get pirctures for. Goblin Settlers and Fire Tempest are to of them.

i have a mac. the folder that cockatrice made for the pics only had so much memory for the pictures. i just made a new folder outside of cockatrice and directed the images there. i'm still having the problem of having specific pictures used in my decks, such as basic lands.

Does anyone else agree that Cockatrice needs sound effects like MWS? Nothing fancy, just the noise for shuffling and the little ticking noise for drawing/playing a card.
I agree.
I personally feel Cockatrice needs to fix A LOT of things with their program to make it better.
1.KICK button!
Please! The other day we were trying to make a 4 Player EDH game and we had 3 People and one guy joined but never loaded a deck and just sat there. So we remake the room and the guy keeps coming in taking up the seat. It was very annoying and after like 15 minutes he stopped.
2. Better Interface.
I don't like have a super small chat. I understand you can make it bigger, but at the same time you "lose" the spot where the card image would be and it tells you what said card does. I say, "lose" because you can just hold down the middle mouse button to view the cards, so really you lose nothing. However, I don't have a middle mouse button and I shouldn't have to buy a new mouse just to play a game.
3. Bigger Screen.
I suppose this goes with a better interface as well. The phases on the left hand side are HUGE like XBOX. I think that is not needed. I mean look at MWS. They are small and do the job perfectly. With the phase buttons being so big it takes up valuable space for the table. They can easily make the phases button considerably smaller and make it so the table looks a lot better and bigger!
4. Better server!
I see everyone and their grandma complain about lag spikes on the server. I know it cant be the amount of people on it, because I see about 90-100 everyday and that is nothing. So if the server is having issues with that many people there is something deathly wrong.
I have a really good feeling that if they don't fix the problems I mentioned then this program is going to go down in a blaze of fire. However, I know this program will never be better or popular than MWS.
However, aside from all the negative stuff: The program is just okay.

Yes! All of these are great suggestions. As far as the layout goes, I'm not sure if anyone who actually works on the program reads here, but:
- The "player info" panel can definitely be smaller - it's a little unnecessary to take up 1/4 of the battlefield simply with the deck / hand / graveyard / RFG piles, they could definitely be smaller (as in MWS) and still achieve the same end. And maybe shrink the mana symbols down a bit and put them under the RFG pile.
- The phases could definitely be smaller, but my monitor is pretty high-resolution so I don't know how this would look for everyone else.
- Maybe it's just me, but the inset overlay pictures in the top-right are painfully small, and I can't click them to blow them up. There is a website running around with high-res scans of virtually every card, this would be a great feature to integrate (requires more memory but it could be in the settings to turn this on / off).
- For cards in-play, make the name of the card appear when you mouse over the card. This will make it a lot easier to see what's what without having to look back and forth from the right of the screen. Plus, lots of people either don't have a middle mouse button, or have it programmed to do something else.
Does anyone else agree that Cockatrice needs sound effects like MWS? Nothing fancy, just the noise for shuffling and the little ticking noise for drawing/playing a card.
YES, YES YES YES YES!!!! I miss this more than anything and it was GREAT! Little (NOT ANNOYING) sound effects add so much and really make it evident every time an action is taken.
Overall though, I like this program far better than MWS. Much more stable, auto-updates, loads images automatically, supports multiple players, and overall is cleaner and more reliable. There are definitely some things to clean up but it still feels like a big step in the right direction.
Simply put, there are two features that makes it vastly superior:
It doesn't blow up randomly, or worse, in certain known and painfully common cases.
It supports multiplayer.
Additionally, automated reconnection\state-repopulation is a pretty killer feature. Strongly suggest registering, since that's a preq' for the feature to come online right now.
Unlike MWS, this is still being developed. That counts for more than most people realize, particularly in an open-source project. Recommend you forward your suggestions to Brukie, since I know he reads mail. I mean, would you even bother writing up complaints and hopes for MWS? There's simply no point.
Finally: MWS has to be run through WINE on macs or linux boxes, which can often leave it running prohibitively slow. Cawkz seems to deploy fine on other platforms, and is based on QT, so it will eventually deliver a reasonably native L&F.
I found my cockatrice stuff in C/users/onlainari/AppData/Local/VirtualStore/Program Files/Cockatrice
The weird thing is the C/Program Files/Cockatrice folder exists too.
This is actually quite close to correct practice. Long story, but it has to do with the way that CLSIDs work on newer windows, and the fact that some modes of operation in Win7 are quite restrictive when it comes to a program's file access rights, potentially to the point that it can't write to the installed directory without repeatedly begging for permissions.
No posts here in a while? I love this program - LOVE it. I didn't read the whole thread, but does anyone know how to load your saved deck files (.cod files) from one computer to another?
They are supposed to be in cockatrice/deck/ folder but when I look there it says the folder is empty and has 0 byte size which doesn't make any sense to me. I searched my computer for .cod files and I couldn't find them.
So where is cockatrice storing the decks? I made like 20 decks on this computer and want to put them on my laptop.

The correct folder is cockatrice/decks/ with an s.
Also there is a "deck storage" tab in cockatrice and I believe you upload your decks to the server with it.
my bad I meant to say 'decks' but I am in that folder right now and it says "this folder is empty."
the "pics" folder is empty as well. even though I am sure I am in the right directory. it is like the files are hidden, but the folder size comes up as 0 bytes.
There is a folder somewhere in your computer that stores all the pic files that cockatrice downloads.
Just replace the file for whatever card you want to alter with another image and cockatrice will show it (I think it needs to be right right size / pixel by pixel count).
I have been using a combination of magiccards.net, paint and deviant art to make a slue of custom cards that i have populated my cockatrice with.
For something less drastic, you could replace the Island.full.jpg file with an image of a zendikar full art land for instance.
my biggest issue is other players..who haven't check the rules and thus go all "WTF" about Partial Paris Mulligan rule and don't knwo that the RC has ruled that multiRelentles rats are okay
