Though mine will have the "[Rum]" and "[Red Wine]" tags, personally.
Back on topic, what about a stickied thread in the top of the Cube Lists subforum, with an index for the various subtypes in it?
e.g. Pauper
Insert link to Lanxal's Cube list here...
Link to Pauper Cube #2 here...
Multiplayer
Link to my Cube here..
Link to Blind_Piper's Cube here...
etc..
New cubers could post in the bottom of the thread, asking for their cube to be added to the appropriate subtypes in the index.
e.g. "Yo, could I please have my new cube (insert link to Cube List here) added to the Pauper, Tribal and 720 indexes? Love and hugs, CubeN00b."
Thoughts?
TAB, and everyone else:
I'll address further points tomorrow. I have a final tomorrow morning and the proxy thread issue requires my immediate attention tonight.
EDIT: Before I sign off, I figure it's best to mention that per the responses given here, the [T] and [G] tags are being dropped.

I am more a fan of the [rum] and [coke] tags myself.
There are a few problems with having one huge index'ed sticky.
1. I don't want to have to deal with editing a massive document like that every day. I'm lazy. I don't know how eidolon does that massive statistics thread.
2. It works to an extent. But then users stop updating their cube threads. And we have a list of 400 cubes that only 100 of them are actively updating them. And then someone has to clear out the un-updated lists. But then the person in charge of the thread has to figure out who is and is not updating their thread anymore. It's a huge hassle.
And I want to say something. I know some people are upset about the cube lists being buried. Some people are upset about the tag system. We are listening to your concerns. We will readdress the tag system. And after we finish writing the rules sticky (we found out that we never wrote a rules sticky while discussing the restructuring.) we have something planned to fix the first problem.

Why should the discussion of the future of this forum, if you value the input of us here, take place in the modcave?
Thanks, TakeABow, for eloquently articulating exactly what I've had trouble saying.

This is the problem with any tagging system, really. It's also (and I hate to say this) the main advantage that the tags system has over threads/search engines maintained by a group of people.
Or just click next to the title in the forum, and then edit it (only works on your own threads ofc.).
Unless you are a mod!
Speaking of which. Since we dropped the [g/t] and switched [up] and [p] to [unpowered] and [powered] for ease of reading. I edited everyone who had updated there thread title. Because I said I would.

I like that! Your mod-powers removed the ugliness from my thread title!
The problem that I have with a poll as opposed to open discussion on the subs discussion is that many of the decisions that people advocate are predicated on a certain assumptions (I want this sub, but that's assuming that this other sub will/won't exist, or that it will/won't be a sub of section ________).
I want to be able to see these dependencies in user opinions.

I think we should have a new subforum for Individual card discussion and card package discussion (blue tempo etc) but other than that, I don't really see anything that needs to be changed. I'm fine with the Cube Lists remaining in a sub forum just like it is now, I think that works very well.

We're working out stuff before presenting an official proposal to you guys regarding the new structure. The proxy thread stuff sapped momentum on our end as it did out here, however the ball is rolling again

Can we see what is being worked on? What ideas are being tossed around? You're working on it behind closed doors again.
But I like that he said 'proposal'. When it comes to the forum structure, I think the best procedure is for the mods to come up with a proposal, then discuss it with the users, make changes if necessary and then implement it. Everything else is not efficient and may lead to rather random results.
I see this going the same way the tag discussion went. The mods are going to decide that they want to do something one way and no one is going to like it. They will try to convince us it is in our best interest until we complain enough for them to take it back and do something sensible. It seems like the pattern here.
Edit - Also, I think we are planning for this influx of new users and it is going to end up feeling similar to Waiting for Godot, Waiting for Guffman, or Big Night.
All I know is last time everything was decided behind closed doors and it didn't work out. I gave feedback, and didn't get a response until I asked again, and we heard that they were going down the same road, working on our structure in the mod forum. It is somewhat frustrating. I just want to know what is going on and maybe have some input. I think most of us are in that boat.
Proposals are good, but unless the proposal is somehow perfect right away, we will need to engage in the dialog that we should have been in from the beginning.
Can we get some sort of picture of what is being discussed?

I can see where you are coming from. But keep in mind that a dialog with too many variables can be very difficult, confusing and time-consuming. Therefore I think it is a good idea that the mods work on a proposal that can then be discussed. It is easier to discuss on the basis of a well presented proposal than without any common ground.

I can't imagine how no dialog is better than even a sprawling, disorganized dialog.
But there is no reason why the mods cant 'moderate' the discussion to keep it from spiraling out of control.
You guys will see our plans well before implementation. There should be ample time to discuss the planned structure and rules and work out any kinks/problems before moving towards implementation.
We not be implementing anything before that.

Tagging seems painfully lame, especially if I'm going to get infracted for not following tagging rules. I hate having to read a 50-page "Read me first" post.
I agree with Konfusius on this. Discussion can go round in circles without getting anywhere. Far better, I think, that an individual or small group comes up with a proposal based on the conversations that there have already been, and then can modify it in response to constructive criticism.
