Hey guys I am wondering what you guys think of Ajani in general and in Naya Midrange? I have done a lot of testing with Ajani in my own Naya deck and it has done a lot of work...I think people mis value the +1/+1.....Ajani is like Domri Rade in the sense that I want to drop it after I drop a creature like Smiter/Reckoner/Thrag......Ajani puts Thrag and Reckoner out of spear and range and makes them a must answer....For me in a lot of games I would have 1 creature (maybe 2) and Ajani out and it would put a lot of pressure on my opponent to A) get rid of the Ajani and B) get rid of my growing creature that became a must answer....with it's minus 3 it can quickly close games and keep our deck from durdling...It's a way to put a lot of pressure on the opponent with not a lot which I like...which means it helps us from over committing!
It also has great synergy with Aurelia, Kessig Wolfrun and Domri's removal package in making sure our creature is bigger!
Give it a try and let me know your thoughts! It's something different but something that I also think has a lot of good applications in the right deck!
Not to sound mean or anything, but he's weak. I'd rather have a Gideon in control matchups or Domri in creature matchups. I'd rather have a 3-drop creature over him anytime too.
I've played him quite extensively when he was first released and realised it was time to let him go as he just didn't do all that much. I think his only real home is a human deck, but even then he competes with too many powerful 3-drops.
No offense taken and I agree with your evalulation on the other pW except for Gideon since I havn't had any testing with him....MD I run 2 Domri and 2 garruk and now 2 Ajani and the control matchup has been really favorable...Ajani isn't taking the place of the other more favorable PW but is acting as a utility to make even just 1 creature a must answer...it's also much less vulnerable than say drawing another creature like silverblade...

You can run townships for the +1 effects and not waste the card slot. Also the +1 counters don't mesh well if you are using Resto Angel to. I ran him for a bit felt like Sasky said, there are just much better options at the three drop.
