If for some reason you are playing a U/W/r control deck, Burning Oil is a card that I would say you have to give high consideration to, at least in the SB. It is strong against aggro and absolutely rocks against Inkmoth Nexus, which is a popular "creature" that your counterspells can't counter and your sorcery speed removal can't touch.

Love. Forgive. Trust. Be willing to be broken that you may be remade.
Curse of the Nightly Hunt could be used to prevent your opponent from holding a critter back to keep it safe, but that's just using a bad card to make a decent-ish card more useful.
Burning Oil is a great card, but there just isn't any deck looking to benefit from a RW removal spell. I believe that it was played as a 4-of during Pro Tour Dark Ascension by that RW Razor Hippogriff deck.
I play a red white deck of sorts. I tested it. It's fine if it's not burn/removal you have to rely on. If you have 6 or do other burn spells it's probably fine. Just for all it's efficiency it won't likely do what you want. The Mirran Crusader example is a definite example. You look and just wish it was Incinerate or blast. Huntmaster is another card it's cold too. If you have anything on the board only the wolf will attack. Sure you kill it and prevent a flip but wouldnt you rather take out the real problem.
The other problem is it loses it's surprise factor quick especially when in the GY. This unfortunately is one of its strengths. Opponents won't play into it. It seems ideal with cards like Hero of Bladehold that almost always force double blocks early where waiting to remove blockers post blocking can save the Hero while maximizing damage saving your soldiers from blocks. Truthfully it is a much better defensive card than aggressive card which I feel sort of is at cross purposes for this color combination.

I use it in wolfrun with a single white mana. I can kill a couple small attackers or a titan in the mirror. For that I give up burning to the face and the ability to kill non-attackers.
It's best use is actually the "I attack with this creature" and then your opponent blocks with a creature that they think/know will survive (like Crusader), then you blast it. On the attack, it handles aggro and Delver pretty well. I actually really like the card in my W/b/r token/hellrider/aristocrat deck. Does great against smaller creatures.

This only matters in double block situations really if you can kill it before it deals damage. If it had just been an Incinerate you could have killed that creature anyway and possibly gotten through. The think they know will survive no longer matters on the flashback cause they know you have it. If you are using it just as basically a pump spell to kill a larger blocker any burn spell will do the job as well. While it is in efficient in terms of card advantage it is no more efficient in mana cost for the versatility you lose. It's a lot better as a 5-8 type of card than a 1-4.

Ive drafted this a few times and it seems solid, If we are in a mid range r/w strategy can we play this?
The condition on it barely matters I think the biggest problem would be birds and such I guess.
I think the real drawback is the fact it cant dome but on the other hand a second use out of it is pretty handy.
Whats the verdict on this card... is it that there is no real deck for it or is it just not better than incinerate.
That's the key there. I drafted Mind Control, Serra Angel and don't forget that Sacred Wolf+Trollhide combo. Good cards in draft are COMPLETELY different from constructed. I mean look at delver, he's usually pretty bad in draft.
Card is cool I guess but I'd rather run incinerate if I was red for the reach.
IMO, this card isn't versatile enough to justify it. It only gets attacking or blocking creatures. Most of the time, opponents aren't going to block with creatures they don't want to lose. This is especially true with all the tragic slip floating around. You will literally not see players blocking with titans because that Gravecrawler you didn't block could turn into -13/-13. Just saying.

i agree with your overall point about cards being good in limited but not constructed, but delver is a beast in both

2) the flashback costs 4 and is obvious to the opponent.
3) it sucks against sword of war and peace.
People often don't attack with Fiend Hunter and if you wait for Mirran Crusader to attack he might have an Angelic Destiny strapped to him
Sadly I'm going to have to give this one a thumbs down for the moment
the most popular removal options currently seem to be Day of Judgment, Tragic Slip, Vapor Snag &/or Mana Leak, Incinerate if you're R, and G still has Prey Upon &/or Beast Within but neither are very popular
Sure but lets say we are in the colors like I stated in the op for whatever reason.
The biggest issue seems to be the fact you cant burn in response to the war and peace equip so im going with incinerate...
Isn't that bad. Pretty niche though.

That's why I said usually He is really bad unless you have a few and a deck built around him.
