A friend of mine has recently gotten into playing a version of UW humans that relies on something like 15 1 drop creatures and Honor of the Pure. I'm running a deck very similar to Caplan's Worlds' list, but still have trouble due to all the biggish threats he can put out after a T2 Honor.
I've got the Noble's and Elders coming, but are there any other suggestions you all would make to help beat the weenie heavy deck I find myself facing most often?
I was thinking Slagstorm might be a good idea, but I also want to keep the deck viable against other decks as well, and running these maindeck isn't something I want to do.
Is there any other way I can punish a deck full of 1 drops?
Anyway it really is stromkirk that will carry a bunch vs any deck with "humans" in the name. Mine usually eats an O-ring or something which is good for us, as a one drop being worthy of an oring means we have some mean cards.
Depending on how creature aggro heavy your meta is slagstorm maindeck miiighhhttt be ok.
We would probably have a better guesstimate if you posted your deck list as well.
It seems somewhat slow, with 4 1 drop, and 4 2 drop creatures. Your first 2 turns are where you are going to really shine against this deck. If they skip a 2 drop to keep mana open, assume they have the leak, and just keep swinging in, and cast your burn on their turn.
Turn 1 noble, into turn 2 berserker is usually enough to win games against alot of decks, esp with a volt charge for back-up mid combat.
Esser gives good advice, but I would also add that Hero is good against aggo, and some sort of split between him and Koth might help your odds, while allowing you to go 4x of whatever post SB.
running a few cards as 3x can also let you squeeze in the cards you are missing, like Spikeshot Elder, Goblin Arsonist, ect. They add some flexibility to a deck that you dont otherwise have.
maybe sideboarding ratchet bomb instead of slagstorm
it provides answer to hotp and geist, in the worst case ratchet gonna eat an oblivion ring but there r another threats in the board
sideboard dismember to deal with hero
and x2 arc trail more bcuz ull have answer to hotp and get card advantage
I've found that taking out 2 koth and 2 land for 3 noble and a spikeshot (basically making maindeck look exactly like caplan's) brings up my win pct against UW without too much more needed. When the meta shifts away from UW (if it does) then I'll have to look to some other answers, but right now, I'm finding this world's build to be just amazing.
This deck is giving me some serious trouble. Do I really need to play slagstorm to win this match? I don't seem to be able to race this guy. Ideas?
It seems like their deck is already tuned to race you and side in 10-11 cards (everything but Vapor Snag and Hero of Bladehold, although those are probably decent too).
You can try to get your nut draw, maybe Gut Shot, hope they don't draw Honor of the Pure, try Ratchet Bomb, or you could try Slagstorm and get them to overextend, not expecting it since usually Slagstorm is good vs. RDW.

please, play act of agression instead of traitorious blood, it deals with geist easily
...uh...i don't know about that. As the geist puts an angel tapped and attacking, i do not believe it can block the Geist. Im assuming thats what you mean as you can't target geist...
Act of Aggression
1. Take angel token. Untap it
2. Block Geist
3. ???
4. Profit
Slagstorm does seem like it would help quite a bit.
5. Lose anyway since you're still probably taking 4 damage from phyrexian mana?
Act of Aggression seems like a waste to board in just for Geist when Traitorous Blood is so much better for every other matchup. Just race it or leave a blocker if you're really that behind. I've never had much of a problem with Geist.

While that's true and you're leaving up mana on your turn, it IS a solution to killing a creature right there so it won't get you next turn and later. Problem is... when they drop another Geist. However I agree with the Trample on Traitorous Blood being more important.
