This thread is a perfect example of why I don't play standard and why I think it sucks.
Who gives a ☺☺☺☺ how RDW is doing. 99% of you are not pro players. You play FNM and some times have the balls to go to a 5k or states. I have no clue why you argue, pine over and over analyze everything that happens at every stupid magic tournament. Maybe instead of building whatever nonsense is winning and expect it to auto pilot you into free packs then wasting time arguing about it here, you should home brew, loose, and have fun doing it. Then maybe you'll actually learn something and become the epic player you pretend to be on the internet.
Props to the Merfolk guy who placed 21st and the mono green infect guy that made moves... And to anyone playing B/u tezz while everyone tells you "it's not viable".
Some people have fun playing and expanding on already competitive decks.
Rogue'ing it up and losing is not fun to everyone.
God forbid someone wants to compete. That would be ☺☺☺☺ing horrible.(for you)
Way to pigeon-hole everyone and order people around while insulting them in the same post. gz.
Who cares about how RDW is doing you ask?
Players who actually like the game and are fans of it.
I have a gut feeling this is just your way of venting that you are a scrub player tho.
You are a "Real pro" tho because you lose with unplayable crap. I see how that works.
Go tell edgar flores his top 8s dont count and he isnt a real pro because he didnt invent the deck type. See how far that'll get you.

Sorry but you're missing the point. From what I've seen on this board its nothing but *****ing, moaning, crying, and complaining about how standard is "nothing but jace, valakut, caw-go... Etc." if you hate all that ☺☺☺☺ then why don't you shut the ☺☺☺☺ up and build what ever you want and play it. You're not a pro, and... Guess What!? You're probably not ever be one. You're biggest venture in the "paid to be there magic world" is FNM, and surprisingly you're not playing pros. So if random jackass is playing hot deck A against your homebrew nonsense, yes you will loose. But so what. You're out 5 bucks and you didn't get free cards you didn't need anyway. BUT, and here's the part you don't get... You keep bringing home brew decks to your FNM, playing the same brain dead people running the same top tier ☺☺☺☺. You'll start winning. Not because of the deck but because youve become a better player.
Weird fact. Poker has 52 cards. Yet the same big players always show up at the final. If committed, you have the same access to the same cards everyone else does.
Tl;dr: the cards didn't beat you, you're opponent did. Shut the ☺☺☺☺ up, stop blaming the meta, the state of standard, or whatever other reason you can think of why you lost.
Why is that a problem? A win is a win, no matter a player's experience or skill level. You generally chose a specific deck based on a couple of reasons: mainly, the price it takes to put it together, it's ability to win, and how much you enjoy playing the archtype. If a deck is cheap, is fun to play, and wins, that seems like an awesome addition to Standard. It spices things up a bit, which is important to any healthy meta.
It also forces the better players to play their best. That seems like a good thing in my opinion.
A win may be a win, but if players get the idea that they can get wins like "Giant Growth, Giant Growth, Giant Growth" then they're getting a really poor idea of what the game is really like. Price is irrelevant.
The meta is fine. People should stop *****ing about homebrewing/netdecking. Don't feel that you have to homebrew, because most of the time it simply won't work. The reason people netdeck is because those decks are PROVEN to be good. And netdecking does not automatically mean you're a bad player, as Philonius is implying - good players netdeck because there are not better options. You see lists in Standard Deck Creation all the time - Standard Jund, RB Control, Allies. These lists are bad, and I'd say if you're going to a tournament and playing to win, it's much better to netdeck and to win then it is to homebrew and fail. You really think it's a good idea to go around boasting "I went 0-8, but at least I'm not playing Caw-Go"? No. It's not. If you need that kind of self-esteem/ego boosting, you have issues.
Sorry but you're missing the point. From what I've seen on this board its nothing but *****ing, moaning, crying, and complaining about how...
You pretty much described every online community for every game that has any sort of competitive edge to it. There's not really any point arguing with these people, because most of them are bad. The good players don't have to come here and repeatedly post and complain, because they know how to play and have nothing to complain about. Good players adapt, whereas bad players don't. The latter would rather waste time juggling straw arguments back and forth in every thread that pops up instead of spending their time playing to get better. Coincidentally, every person here whining about Valakut probably whined about Jund, too. And the top tier decks before that. And the the ones before that. And before that.
Props to the Merfolk guy who placed 21st and the mono green infect guy that made moves... And to anyone playing B/u tezz while everyone tells you "it's not viable".
Mono Blue has been showing an awkward resurgence. Mono Green Infect is the reason I've bought out two stores of Putrefax. U/B Tezz has control over 3.5-4% of the metagame, and has a win percentage of 35% against the entire field. It's probably the most nonviable deck you can play in standard. Homebrews are performing better than it.
heard it also draws your opponents card and meets a 1 mana answer.
Problem with that logic is most of the decks you will face don't have the 1 mana answer MB. Not too mention based on the numbers of lands in a deck, you get a lot of information about what they have more often than not. Lands don't do you any good when they aren't casting cards.

Grats, here is your cookie I took a bite out of it because you're not worth a whole cookie. GL with your horrible tezzeret deck. Shmanka
OH YAH!!? Well Guess WHAT? Awesome epic amazing rainbow land where everything is good for me and bad for you, means my deck is better than yours and then after I beat you round one, then ill end up going 1-3 at the end of FNM night. Afterwords you're going to go to hell for being a bad Caw-Blade/Jund/Fairies person and I am going to heaven because I spend very little money on magic and I hate Jace the Mind Sculptor.
For reference my quote is bleeding profusely with sarcasm.
We don't care how good you do with Tezzeret, those are the most recent stats. You are an anomaly, an outlier, a randomly generated number that is excluded from statistical significance.
Then to top it all off, the second part of your quote:
It doesnt really matter that most of them are playing worse deck than mine
Wait... Hold on a minute... what?
It doesnt really matter that most of them are playing worse deck than mine
If everyone around you is playing a horrible non-competitive deck, then that explains more than enough for me.
my deck is THAT good ..
It's not good, its just the king of a sandbox. Congrats, go make a castle.
The numbers are out and I'm really tired of seeing people post that UW is 60% or some other crazy number of the decks. If this is the case in your own area fine but tournament wise it's only 20%. Major events are what tend to shift what people play and how they play it. It was in someone's recent article about so called net-decking and home-brews. The fact is even Gerry T doesn't have all the time in the world to brew up a new deck when he is playing tournaments every week. There just isn't enough time to tweak and test properly. What does he do? He takes a well positioned deck and makes minor tweaks that he can easily test and meta-game against what others are thinking. True meta-gaming isn't just going off what happened last week. It also involves over-standing what you think everyone else is thinking or doing and being ahead of them. If you want to spend a month or 2 testing and tweaking a deck properly for 1 event to take it down, by all means do so. That's why Uw/r took down the tournament. It was already good to be UW but it also gave him the edge that day in the mirror.
If you are trying to place or even win and tweak and existing winner that's fine too. Keep in mind though both paths require different amounts of time and aren't always possible. You may find what you planned after thorough testing just isn't viable or the necessary cards aren't in the format. What people never seem to take into account is the amount of time people put in to create the so called rogue deck that randomly takes down a tourney.
Everything is a home-brew until someone else does it too.

"Fun fact about me: I home brew my buddies meta deck. He went from having a much lower ranking then me to a significantly higher rating since I started doing this."
Haha .
I dont mean tezzeret is a bad deck .
Its actually very good (well what isnt if youre running 4x jaceS ), but not in the same level as the top decks.
It needs more utility artifacts to work because right now you are brainstorming into sphere of the suns and chalices and mana-filter cantrips(for the UBr) .
Its really fun to play though .
Lol why does everyone see my Avatar and think I am a huge Tezzeret Fan Boi?
I like the card, and I like the Character.
The deck has potential, that is all I really have to say. Me, going from U/B and winning tournaments to not sweeping the tourny away is a clear indicator of the deck and it's current position in the meta.
I am playing it because I currently do not really enjoy playing Boros, Caw-Blade, Valakut or even RUG really. RUG is fun, I played it a while back, I might start again but for now, I am just dicking around with a cool card haha. That is my justification.
The avatar will probably remain even after I stop playing the deck just because the art is badass.
EDIT
Also, my win record in my sig is apparent at how much tournament play I am even doing now days. Most of my magic play is just play testing things.
