I would be afraid to run 3. Try using Primal Command to seach for her, thats what I usually do.
Anyways, I went 3-1 today at GAME DAY.
Lost to Merfolk 1-2
Beat mono White Weenie 2-1
Beat Finest Hour Bant 2-0
Beat RDW 2-0
I got mana flooded in the frist round. I think the deck needs some minor tweaking for its full potential. I am considering dropping 3 Savor the Moment and adding 1 more Time Warp, but Im not sure. Savor the Moment is pretty nasty with Jace and Garruk in play.
I splurged for the Cryptics even though they are rotating, just to play this. lol
If you go one page back you can see some results from MTG Gameday. I went 3-1.
Also, its not that I hate Howling Mine..infact, its a great idea for this deck. I just cant find space for it. Id rather play other things, if I had room..it would likely be in here, or least tested.
Thats basically how my deck functions. Same win-cons. Im still tempted to try out Wall of Frost. And I have Sleep in my side and I wonder if it can be maindeck. You have to try including Twincast and Primal Command. Twincasting a Time Warp or Primal Command is usually game when you have some board position. I feel some games that I get mana flooded, Im considering dropping one land for something like Oona's Grace.
The spot that Kitchen Finks is in has to be a very, very good creature. Since we have only 6 creatures in the deck, its going to be very easy to get rid of them for an opponent. Aside from Path and wither, the finks is a pain to get rid of. I cant say the same for Plumeviel and Wall of Frost. I think thats my main reasoning for using the Finks.
Im debating on dropping one land..because of being mana flooded sometimes. The only thing I can really pour mana into is Oona or Twincasting something.
well it is time to decide on a final list that we should try.
i am gonna start by listing all the counterspells in standard and we will pick are top 3-4 and than we will pick 2-3 to use.
the way this should work is when you say your top you should say your top 3-4 and post a list of say creatures to choose from and so on...
here are the counter spells:
Deffinately 4 Fog.
I have been trying to fit 2 Sleep in for awhile now. They have been in my SB, and when I have sided them in, I feel I cannot use it to its full potential.
Usually my opponent's creatures are never untaped, they are attacking me or my walkers every turn. Basically it just reads target players creatures dont untap next turn, which is good, but overcosted for 2uu. Get what Im saying?
First Round: Time Sieve 2-0
I completely wrecked this deck, I didnt think the matchup would be that good. I had Negates and Cryptics for all his important spells. With me taking extra turns with a Howling Mine out for them was fun. Makes me think about adding it to the deck myself. Second Round: Bant 2-0
Game one, he got mana screwed. Game two, Garruk went crazy making beasts and Cryptic and Primal kept me alive after being broght to 7 within the first few turns. Third Round: Polymorph 2-1
This deck surprised me the first game, which I lost. I side in Telemin Performance, which wins me game 2. Game three, I just keep counter mana open and win through taking lots of turns with walkers out. Fourth Round: GW goodstuff 0-2
Game one, I came out quick with turn 3 Garruk AND Jace. Garruk bit the dust, and it was just bad from there on out. Game 2, he droped a turn 2 Gaddock Teeg....crap.
Well going 3-1 isnt bad. I think I need to side in Path for stuff like Teeg. And Im begining to think about Wall of Frost instead of Kitchen Finks.
Yea, but then I have to have a counter ready for it.
Path is a more permenate solution, and can provide other uses.
Whats your opinion on the Kitchen Finks slot?
Ideas
-Lorescale Coatl
-Wall of Frost
-Plumeviel
-Mulldrifter
-Sleep
-Oona's Grace
-Counterspells
-Ponder
-Howling Mine lol...seriously though, by Time Sieve.dec playing this, it made it easier for me to win, drawing me into gas. Im just so afraid of Howling Mine, I dont want my opponents drawing answers against me with all the extra cards.
The Coatl is another wincon and eventually a bigger blocker. I think I can drop one land due to me having extra draw power. The loss of Finks hurts in the area of slowing down super-fast aggro. Finks is good at gaining some life and doing some chumping. Hmm..Ill Sleep on it.
I'd throw the Finks in the side for aggro decks, like you said. But I like the addition of the Coatls with the Mines. Seems like it'd be pretty effective.

I feel like Im going to be holding tons of cards in my hand. Should I include Reliquary Tower?
i know im new to this post but i dont think you should run them since you will be discaring lands most of the time. then you can use the primal command to put your graveyard back in your lib giving you more turns you may need (i almost decked myself one game). i just started playing the version you have in your post and so far its 3-0, it beat 2 random jank decks (i hate when people play them on there >.<) and bant. the snakes are AMAZING, if you can get them out and they do not get removed on the spot, they win.
just on what i have seen, im not sure if i like running oona with savor the moment. i often find myself wanting to do other things then use her abilty. maybe move them to side and drop the sleeps. then you can put 1 more negate main and like maybe 1 more snake or 1 more time warp.
this is just my oppion though, keep up the good work.
Thanks. Glad the deck is working for you.
Savor the Moment is better now then it was before in my previous versions without Howling Mine. Oona is only supossed to come down when youre ready to win or need to stall.
Im gonna play the deck ina small type 2 tournament today, Ill post my results later.
Ugh, I went 1-2 drop.
All of my games were winnable. Still with 23 land in the deck I was flooded almost every game except for the last one I lost when I was stuck on 2 lands for a few turns.
Howling Mine was decent when I played it. I only saw the Mine a few times and the Coatl only came out 2 or 3 times.
I lost to 5c Mannequin 1-2
Beat 5c cascade 2-1
Lost to Jund Cascade 1-2
Every game was so close. I milled a couple times ftw. In the last round he topped Maelstrom Pulse to rid my field of Oona tokens. I was tapped out and had 2 Negates in hand :(. The Coatl won one game by it being out. I Cryptic their team, Coatl is like a 5/5 or something, draw off Jace, Mine, and Turn. Swing, Time Warp. Gets bigger, blah blah blah, win.
I can honestly say that I was severely mana flooded in over 50% of my matches. I think I need a retrace card in here.
EDIT: Considering Call the Skybreaker as a one-of for late-game. It seems after a certain point in the game, I just end up drawing way too many lands. At least with this, I can have every land turn into a 5/5 flier. Savage Conception is a cheaper alternative (manacost wise).
Howling Mine is a BEAST. after testing it as a four-of replacing kitchen finks it is totally a game-winner. if you have two out it makes you draw rediculous amounts of cards.

All three creatures are good options.
Heres what my lists looks like now, what do you think?
2 Negate
2 Twincast
4 Fertile Ground
3 Savor the Moment
4 Cryptic Command
2 Primal Command
3 Time Warp
3 Garruk Wildspeaker
4 Kitchen Finks
2 Oona, Queen of the Fae
Im debating on dropping one land..because of being mana flooded sometimes. The only thing I can really pour mana into is Oona or Twincasting something.
How did you win turn 5?
However i have used the m10 dual lands(i.e. Glacial fortress, sunpetal grove) and wall of denial. Wall of frost is way to easily killed.

Seriously considering this..
+3 Howling Mine
+2 Lorescale Coatl
-4 Kitchen Finks
-1 land

2 Telemin Performance
2 Great Sable Stag
2 Sleep
1 Primal Command
3 Path to Exile
2 Kitchen Finks
I like having a 3rd Negate in the side as well as Thornling, which doubles as another wincon.
Here's my list Im considering for tomorrow. (Small type 2 Tournament)
4 Fertile Ground
3 Howling Mine
2 Negate
2 Twincast
3 Savor the Moment
3 Jace Beleren
3 Garruk Wildspeaker
4 Cryptic Command
2 Primal Command
