I dont necessarily disagree, but 1) I put certain perameters in place in the event I represented multiple leagues 2) when 3 other people want to put in the effort every week to run these leagues exactly like I do, then we can talk. That said, the team that wins is the team that wins, regardless of who runs it.
I can run one next year. Have 6 years commissioner experience myself.
That being said, I gave this league format a shot, and I don't particularly care for it, so I won't be back next year.
1> The double round of playoffs I didn't see coming til after I agreed (could could have been just a misunderstanding), but to be honest, when I draft, I look at playoff weeks, and I wasn't looking at weeks 13-14 in regards to that.
2> QBs in the flex position, there were several others that didn't see it coming. I actually did catch that before the draft, but that doesn't make it a good idea.
3> I know its a free league (or leagues), but there seemed to have been some missing trophies/derps during the middle of the season. Additionally, there was a post by deceptikon about posting the trophy leaders, which I don't think ever occurred.
3a> That is not to say I am not grateful for him hosting. This was my only league this year, and 10-2 (er, 10-3) is still not shabby. And I have hosted multiple leagues before for free (albeit, with no "super" playoffs like this), so I understand the work and effort that is put in.
4> However, if there is going to be a super playoff, then no "coach" should have more than 1 team. Having teams in multiple leagues is
a> preventing other people from joining, and
b> allows for multiple opportunities for a single individual that others do not have.
1) Chris has been running that since the first year we had a player boom and decided 2 MTGS leagues would be better suited, with an overall champion. It has been mentioned every year in each thread, so you probably did overlook it. No worries though.
2) That's another thing that has been mentioned before. When us league managers say "OP", or Offensive Player, it entails all except the Kicker. I run my league the same way. (well, far as the OP slot is concerned.)
3) Being busy sucks at times. That's why I dropped my weekly awards from my WTF-FL back in our 2nd or 3rd season. I kept forgetting, especially with my job at the time. Trophies are a neat little add on for bragging rights.
4) Chris is exactly right about this too. Other than me, there would probably be 2 others that would be able to run it and pay close attention to detail. But, I got out of the serious Fantasy league running, and that's what made me create my league. If I was ever to jump back to the MTGS leagues, I probably could run one of them to help out.
All in all, it seems like the MTGS leagues had a LOT of newcomers. My word of advice to new players and veterans alike:
Don't let one season of misunderstanding, disappointment, etc, get you down on Fantasy Football. I know damn well I kept bombarding Chris with questions my first year on his ESPN league, because I always did the crappy Yahoo leagues. So I still had somewhat of a learning curve compared to what I was used to.
The ONE week of the ENTIRE year I should've started Roddy White.... sonofa....
I dropped him and started Demaryius Thomas and Antonio Brown. Go figure.
I do think we have the man-power to have 4 people run separate leagues if that is what people want to do. Several members seem active enough and/or have experience as an organizer or leader of some sort(Votan, Arcadic, scotti and myself, of course). As long as the settings are all identical there shouldn't be any problems. That is if Chris is interested in shedding some of that extra weight on his shoulders. I'm honestly fine with whatever we do, I'll be back next year either way.
Agree with Votan on the thanks stuff btw, I just wish the guys in my league offered me free fatpacks.

you gonna die for the bolded.
Against better judgement, I'd be willing to do fantasy with you guys next year. It was fun, although I doubt I could keep my team name as I dont plan on drafting a certain someone next year....
Its good that both of you have learned that there is definitely a difference between football stats and "fantasy football" stats.
For example, I present Eli Manning (first player off the top of my head). He has won two Super Bowls, but I don't recall him ever being in the top 10 fantasy QB's drafted nor ever finishing with top QB fantasy points.
Of course what do I know? I completely failed with both my teams this year. I should get a trophy just for the amount of DERP trophies I received.

(about the English language) It's kinda like a raft that was cobbled together from parts of three different boats and since then has been kept barely afloat with crude repairs every time a leak appeared.
Gore or Leveon Bell?
If Bell is good to go, he might get a lot of touches and chances to score. Gore is Gore but he's going to be playing Seattle, (right?).
Also, RG3 or Kaepernick?
Can someone explain to me why teams in the NFL don't tank their seasons to get better draft picks? Given all the talk about NBA teams already tanking for the 2014 NBA draft, I figure I would ask about this here.
Unlike the NBA, there is no lottery for the NFL draft. The worst records get the best picks, guaranteed. I look at teams like the Falcons and the Texans who clearly have lost seasons and would benefit from tanking. Worst case scenario is that you don't need a high draft pick, but you would just trade down and get more picks.

Because there's inherently no value in doing it for NFL teams, statistically speaking draft picks are less likely to pan out in the NFL(volume) over the NBA. Not only that, you get saddled with a normally large contract for five years for someone who could be JaMarcus Russell and set your franchise back even farther. (Even then, you could be the Bills, continue to throw picks away). If it wasn't such a monetary risk to have a top pick, more teams would fight over it.
All in all, the biggest part is that the NBA can recoup money from failed stars just from a marketing standpoint, even some of the biggest NBA busts are still in the green because they were able to be marketed well. NBA has always been about individual marketing, while the NFL is more about team marketing.
I dropped him and started Demaryius Thomas and Antonio Brown. Go figure.

I can certainly aid in the leagues next season. Its easy to create the 4 clones and pass the commissioner over.

Other reasons include just starting talent that was a draft pick to evaluate further and tofind new plays and why your losing. The NBA is a joke because teams always tank to get a star player, which is the only way 8 plus teams even sell tickets. Even when the Rams were terrible they never got blacked out locally because people still went to the games because they knew they'd at least get a show.
Teams do not always tank to get a star player, that's a laughably short-sighted misconception used by die-hards to sleep better at night and by people who dislike the sport because they don't understand it. The Jaguars have the upper sections of their stadium tarped off nowadays so they don't blackout, and the Bills haven't sold out a game in forever. The biggest things that keep the NFL above the other sports is: a.)The socialist economic factor, with revenue sharing, it's easy to make mistakes and lose money on them, because the other 31 teams will back you up. Arguably, were they under the NBA model, the Jaguars and the Bills would've folded/been moved by a new owner by now, because they don't have an equal pot of revenue sharing. b.) Lack of commitment for the fans, the only requirement of an NFL fan is to attend/watch 16 games in 17 weeks(possibly more for playoffs) mostly on an easy day to have off/take off(Sunday) and it doesn't require much beyond those 3-3 1/2 hours on Sunday. During the NBA season, your favorite team could play four games in seven days, all at different start times, possibly in four different cities. That's nearly 12-14 hours of commitment in a week, plus the fact that the best player on the team might have an off day on the day you can/decide to watch, then go off the next one when you can't/decide not too. The NFL is far more accessible for the casual fan, which makes it easier to market, and make decisions because you don't have to factor in other things.
Right now the best example of this is the Milwaukee Bucks, their owner(Herb Kohl) wants to put a winner on the floor every year. He isn't interested in attempting to acquire unknown talent through the draft. That's why Milwaukee is consistently mediocre. Either in that 8 slot or on the cusp of the playoffs. They don't have much of a chance at getting over that hump, because Kohl doesn't want to spend into the luxury tax like Arinson(Heat) and Buss(Lakers) do. So for Milwaukee fans, that's why they get saddled with things like Drew Gooden's contract, the awful Jennings/Ellis year and a half together, it's just a completely different situation from an owner/management standpoint than the NFL is. Herb Kohl can profit from staying under the cap, an NFL owner can't.
So Matt Prater hit a 64 yard field goal and the Vikings manage to gain and blow a lead in 45 seconds....
To be fair, It was miserable field conditions to the core and I couldnt even call the last two minutes real football, more likely akin to a game of madden.
Also, Jacoby got what was denied to him last week, so that makes me happy.
But fantasy was a bust today.... at least starting Ivory over Bell wasnt the reason I lost, for I would of been kicking myself hard if it had been.
They were only 'behind' for like 5 minutes the entire game. As a SF fan, I was very happy to see them win, but ultimately it's a fairly hollow victory. SF would likely end up 6th place heading into the playoffs regardless of tonight's game, and Seattle will likely end up with home-field advantage throughout the playoffs regardless of tonight's game. And while I'll be hoping and praying(so to speak) for SF to go into Seattle and pull off a huge upset, I don't think that there is any realistic chance that this actually happens.
looks like the 49ers pulled off a big win from behind against the Seahawks tonight, happy with that
Woo! (my niece is on the goldrush! Huge fans!)
I won the work holiday raffle for two tickets to see the Texans vs. Broncos on the 22nd.....about twenty rows from the field. I just moved back here and haven't seen a game at reliant yet, very stoked.
I was luckily spared from seeing the Panthers lose as I was busy studying for finals. I didn't have high expectations for them to go into New Orleans and take one on the road. I do expect the Panthers to win at home in a retribution game though.
I honestly didn't expect to see the Elam/Janiwhatski/otherguy record broken before becoming a middle aged man.
Awesome that the Ravens won. As someone who lives in Minnesota, I love to hear the natives cry.
As a Cleveland resident, last night made me infuriated. However as someone who was born in New Orleans, I was calmed down by the Saints crushing Carolina.
The past couple years have been good. At least I have one home team that is decent and provides happiness.

Yeah as Pats fan I have to agree that the PI was a horrible call. I also thought your intentional grounding was bad too until I found out that even outside the pocket he never got it back across the original line of scrimmage, so the penalty stands. Bad calls both ways too, all day.
We don't know if Brady could have still orchestrated the rest of the drive (they were at the 30 at the time with 0:40 left) but now we'll never know because the refs made it easy for them. At least the Browns had a chance because the time gained from it to get in position for a field goal attempt although a nearly impossible attempt at that.
