Five people left the square following a brief diversion. Or rather, tried to. But only three made it.
Axonn, the strange mechanical outsider who had come to Clock Town only recently, was the first to fall. He had readied his axe to try to do some final good for Clock Town, but to no avail - a mighty stream of yellowish magic streamed into him, knocking him to the ground.
On the other side of the square, that strange smiling broker realized that the day was lost and tried to get out of town. But it was too late. Before him stood a strange figure, with a stranger face - a smooth face, with spikes around the edges and colored circles around the eyes.
But the Mask Salesman's eyes opened not in fear of the unknown, but in fear of the all-too-familiar, for he had seen that face before and knew to whom it belonged... the spirit sealed in the mask with the same face: Majora.
Before he could do anything else, Majora unleashed an electrical beam of his own and cut the Mask Salesman down in the middle of the street.
And then there were three: Majora, plus the last survivor of the Clock Town Guard and a man nobody in Termina recognized. A strange man, with dark skin and orange hair and wearing dark clothes.
But you, my dear listener, you would recognize him quite well, for you have heard his stories before. Only a few years before, the Hero of Time had sealed him into the Sacred Realm. But Ganondorf found a flaw in the seal and escaped - not into Hyrule which was still closed to him and knew what he stood for, but into unsuspecting Termina from where he could build up a new army to retake what he considered his.
The strange entity known as Majora did not know any of this. But it could sense Ganon's power, and it could see that it was outgunned. So it screamed.
Yes, it screamed! A scream of dark power, designed to be echoed by the world around it. And as it screamed the Moon above shuddered and accelerated, spiraling ever faster towards Termina.
The corrupt Guard who served Ganon stared in fear. But Ganondorf himself was strangely calm. He waited as the Moon spiraled lower and lower in the sky, as if waiting.
Until he jumped up into the air.
And flew towards the Moon.
And unleashed a mighty warlock's punch, that shattered the moon into pieces.
The entity known as Majora watched, and knew that it was beaten. It ran, ran as fast as it could and didn't turn back.
Victorious Ganondorf turned to his last, most loyal ally. "You've done well," he said. "You will be richly rewarded in this new order, General."
"Th-thank you, my liege."
And the two of them turned to begin the work ahead.
As Ganondorf began to use his magic to transform Termina into a land worthy of his rule and the new General of Darkness began marshalling the creatures of darkness, a dread realization spread among those who survived elsewhere in Termina...
"You've met with a terrible fate, haven't you?"
---
Twenty-four hours later, outside the gates of Clock Town:
Axonn picked himself up off the ground and thanked the Great Beings. That magician of this land had been powerful indeed. But he was unfamiliar with beings such as Axonn, and had not reckoned on the resilience and self-repair capability of the creatures of the Matoran Universe. He had been wounded... but he had not been killed, and had managed to crawl to safety while that self-styled Great King of Evil had been busy consolidating his rule.
Evil things were afoot. Even as he watched the plants mutated and transformed into strange things, and foul creatures were starting to appear. It was too late to do anything about it now - especially after that particularly bone-headed attempt at a distraction. Axonn had managed to reclaim his Kanohi Rode, yes... but it was too late to reclaim the Vahi, the Legendary Mask of Time.
Or was it? Another cart was pulling up to the gates of Clock Town... almost empty, just like the one yesterday. It had two packages in it. Could it be?...
The first package contained some sort of strangely-shaped mask that seemed to contain some sort of library about monsters. Vaguely useful, but not what he was looking for... he'd hold onto it, to keep it out of the hands of that Ganondorf, but it wasn't what he was looking for.
The second package, however... was more familiarly shaped. And contained a rusted mask that fit over only the lower half of one's face.
He'd done it. He might not have saved the doomed world of Termina... but he had recovered the Kanohi Vahi.
Now all he had to do was get it back to the Matoran Universe, and deal with the perils there. But that would be a tale for another time...

Following the events of Ocarina of Time, you struck out into the Kokiri Forest, searching for your old companion Navi. (Apparently you're the only person in the known universe who doesn't find her voice annoying.) During your search, you came across a portal to another world, a land called Termina. You entered, hoping that Navi had come here before you... but so far you have seen no sign of her.
Though you were disappointed, you decided that you needed to take a few days to recuperate (ah, the lessons of the past), and at any rate you heard that there was a festival coming soon. Festivals are the targets of villainous action more often than not, and even if there was no evil to be thwarted you could still use a break. So you booked a room in the Stock Pot Inn in Clock Town and waited.
Then the Astronomer emerged from seclusion, started talking about the Moon, and got killed. Sigh. Festivals have villains more often than not, but to be honest... you had really been hoping for a day or three off. Oh well. You're the Hero of Time, you know what to do.
Identity: Link Alignment: Town Classification: Hero of Time Role Type: Jack of All Trades Alias: PLAYERNAME True Mask: None
Welcome to The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask Mafia! You are Link, a Townie Hero of Time. You have the following special abilities:
Passive Abilities:
Ocarina of Time with the Inverted Song of Time – As long as at least one player has an Inverted Song of Time ability, the game clock moves at half speed.
Activated Abilities:
Hero's Bow with Arrow (item, one-shot, Rapid Action) – Once during the game, at any time, you may target another player (by PMing the mod). That player will die. This is a Rapid Action (it resolves immediately upon receipt, even at night).
Fire Arrow (item, one-shot) – Once during the game, at night, you may target another player. Any mask abilities that player uses tonight will fail, and that player's mask will be destroyed at the start of the next game day.
Ice Arrow (item, one-shot) - Once during the game, at night, you may target another player. Any activated abilities that player uses that night will fail to resolve (this includes role and mask abilities).
Light Arrow (item, one-shot) – Once during the game, at night, you may target a player. That player will die. This kill cannot be prevented by normal means (this ability overrides most protections, roleblocks, redirections, and similar).
Please note that you may use one activated ability of your role and one activated ability of your mask per day/night cycle unless another ability says otherwise.
You have no true mask.
You win when all threats to the Town have been eliminated.
Please confirm via return PM.
Mod Notes:
- Light Arrow overrides all protections except Majora’s Second Form.
”I can't believe it! I just can't believe it!”
You have to agree with your sister. You'd been expecting some problems with the Festival; after all, Mikau hasn't shown up in a couple of days, and you still can't think of a dance routine to do. But that pales in comparison to the moon dropping onto Termina.
“Whatever shall we do, whatever shall we do?”
Whatever shall we do, indeed. A pair of dancing sisters doesn't exactly have much to offer to help stop some sort of global menace. But you know one thing: whatever you can do, you'll do it together. That's how it's always been, and that's how it'll always be.
Identity: Rosa Sisters Alignment: Town Classification: Doublet Role Type: Double Voter/Mask Specialist Alias: JeY K True Mask: Stone Mask
Welcome to The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask Mafia, JeY K. You are the Rosa Sisters, a Townie Doublet. You have the following special abilities:
Passive Abilities:
Doublet – You have an additional vote.
Double Header- You MUST wear an additional mask at all times (if you cannot, you die).
Please note that you may use one activated ability of your role and one activated ability of masks you wear per day/night cycle unless another ability says otherwise. (You only get to use one activated ability of your masks per day/night cycle even if you are wearing two masks with activated abilities.)
Your true mask is the Stone Mask.
You win when all threats to the Town have been eliminated.
Please confirm via return PM.
You didn't sign up for this.
After all, you're just a thief. You track down the weak and vulnerable – old ladies, gullible children, people like that – then take their stuff and store it in your hideout. You coordinate with that stealing bird south of town and that fence who doesn't ask too many questions (does he even realize he's a fence?). You make a pile of cash. Life is good.
You certainly aren't qualified to try to stop the end of the world. Hell, if it was up to you, you'd be standing on the sidelines waiting to see how it turns out (and whether there's anything you can steal) or else running away.
But instead, you're here with the rest of the cursed people. A bunch of people who hate your guts, who you don't like. And there's not even anything you can do to help.
Unless... you can help by stealing things...
Identity: Sakon Alignment: Town Classification: Thief Role Type: Item Stealer Alias: Guardian True Mask: None
Welcome to The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask Mafia, Guardian. You are Sakon, a Townie Thief. You have the following special abilities:
Passive Abilities:
Alignment Miller – Due to your criminal history, you investigate as Mafia to all alignment investigations.
Active Abilities:
Steal Item – Each night, you may target a player. If that player has any limited-use {item} abilities, you will steal one of their {items}; that player loses that ability, and you then gain that ability at the start of the next day (if that player has more than one {item} ability, you will steal one at random; if that player has a use-limited {item} ability with more than one use remaining, you steal one use of that ability). If that player has no {item} abilities, you will instead steal their mask and abscond to your hideout with it (that mask will enter the Missing mask pool, and its former wearer must select a new mask during the next day's Mask Draft). However, you only have room to keep one mask hidden at a time; if you steal a mask while you already have a mask in your hideout, you must immediately return one of them to the Unworn mask pool. Note that you steal items before their owners have a chance to use them and that some items cannot be stolen.
Return Mask – Each night, if you have a mask in your hideout, you may return it to the Unworn mask pool.
Please note that you may use one activated ability of your role and one activated ability of your mask per day/night cycle unless another ability says otherwise.
You have no true mask.
You win when all threats to the Town have been eliminated.
Please confirm via return PM.
Mod Notes:
They say the Mayor should be able to handle anything. But how can you be expected to handle this? What on earth is a mere human supposed to do about the Moon crashing to the ground?
You’d order an evacuation, but that might not help even without that mask curse keeping people here. What can you do? Find a scapegoat and hope that it helps?
Well, you’d better do *something*. You’ve got the privileges of your office and a few potions that were given to you as a gift. Maybe you could use them for something?
Identity: Mayor Dotour Alignment: Town Classification: Mayor Role Type: Increased Lynch Threshold Alias: PLAYERNAME True Mask: Giant's Mask

Clock Town Mayor - You require one additional vote to lynch (your lynch threshold is increased by one). This ability does not function at LyLo.
Activated Abilities:

Tingle tingle kooloh-limpah! They don't believe in those words yet, but they will.
The fairy boy, they call you. The man who wants to be a fairy. Well, to be fair, you ARE a fairy trapped in human skin. But there's a difference between being a fairy and thinking that you're one.
But you'll show them now! You got a fairy of your very own! Tatl she calls herself. She's not as friendly as the average fairy, but...
*chime chime*
What is it?
“Are you stupid? We need to get back to Clock Town and get you a mask! Then we need to stop this moon dropping business and figure out what that Skull Kid and my brother are up to!”
Identity: Tingle Alignment: Town Classification: Fairy Friend Role Type: Name and Flavor Cop Alias: little lizard True Mask: Great Fairy's Mask

Your true mask is the Great Fairy's Mask.

No friends left. No friends left at all.
First it was those four giants, who left you saying that they had things to do. You tried to get them to stay. You tried to show them you all could still have fun. But they didn't listen.
Then it was that mask you found. It showed you new ways to have fun. With its help you were a marvelous prankster. But then it left, calling you a useless puppet. You didn't try to get it to stay. Why would you, when it just stabbed you in the back like that?
Then it was those fairy siblings you knew. One morning you woke up and they were both gone. No note, no explanation. You looked for them, but you couldn't find them.
So now you're here, all alone. And now the world is going to end and you'll die with nobody at your side. Left alone and forgotten... forever. You don't want that.
Maybe if you can find some way to help stop the Moon... maybe you'll find some new friends as well?

You liked it better when the farm was your main concern. Yes, you had to put up with the Gorman Brothers' attacks and Romani's complaints about “them”, but those aren't such big problems in the greater scheme of things.
Now? Now you're stuck in Clock Town, away from Romani and the ranch. Your friend Anju might be around, but you haven't found her. And the Moon is going to crash into the world in 72 hours if somebody can't find a way to stop it.
You need a reminder of home, that's what you need. Something to help you keep standing. Something to help you keep fighting.
Identity: Cremia Alignment: Town Classification: Vanilla Role Type: Vanilla Alias: AsianInvasion True Mask: Romani Mask
Welcome to The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask Mafia, AsianInvasion. You are Cremia, a Vanilla Townie. You have a True Mask but no other special abilities (except for abilities of masks you are wearing).

Your true mask is the Romani Mask.
You win when all threats to the Town have been eliminated.

You probably should have seen this coming.
You got sent to this strange faraway land by the Order of Mata Nui in order to secure a rare Mask of Power – one of the Legendary Masks, in fact. But now that you've gotten here... the Moon is about to crash into the planet, there's villainy afoot, and you've lost your Kanohi Rode (Great Mask of Truth, or Mask of Truth for short) to boot. Trying to help this place before it's too late would be a lost cause.
But then... aren't those the only kind worth fighting for?

Your true mask is the Mask of Truth.
You win when all threats to the Town have been eliminated.

A true hero's job is never done! Which is why you, unlike your sleepy comrades in the Clock Town city watch, stay up late and get to work early. You'll defend the citizens, stop the bad guys, and save the town. Also, you'll be bored a lot of the time. Clock Town is rather sleepy.
But not right now, what with the whole Moon business. Instead of keeping kids from going where it's not safe, now you get to protect people in earnest!

Join the Clock Town Guard, they say. Stop evildoers, be a hero, and get a good paycheck and three square meals a day. It was the last part that convinced you to sign up. They never mention, though, how much of the job is just standing around by the gates and keeping people inside the city. And you haven't had a good night's sleep in ages.
That's not changing anytime soon, what with this Moon business – you'd rather live than sleep. But if you can find the culprits... you can sneak a nap sometime. Right?

Identity: Happy Mask Salesman Alignment: Neutral Classification: Broker Role Type: Mask Trader/Mask Specialist Alias: Zinger2099 True Mask: Don Gero's Mask
Welcome to The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask Mafia, Zinger2099. You are the Happy Mask Salesman, a Neutral Broker. You have the following special abilities:
Passive Abilities:
Inside Information – You know that a few Masks will become available to be worn after the start of the game.
Mimic – You retain the normal abilities of Masks you have previously worn but are not currently wearing. If you have retained an activated ability in this way, you may treat it either as a regular activated ability or a Mask activated ability (but not both) for the purposes of night action limits.
Mask Database – At the beginning of each Mask Draft (including the first), you may name a mask. If you do, you will learn what type of ability that Mask's normal power grants. (The mask ability types are Roleblocking, Motivating, Redirecting, Protective, Killing, Investigative, Mask-Affecting, Ability Granting, Special Action, and Passive.)
Activated Abilities:
Trade Masks – Each night, you may target another player and a second player. The first player will be given the option to exchange masks with the second player. If the first player accepts, those two players exchange masks at the beginning of the next game day. If the first player refuses, you may elect to force the exchange to happen anyways, but if you do so you lose this ability at the beginning of the next game day. (You may be the second target of this ability, but not the first.)
Please note that you may use one activated ability of your role and one activated ability of your mask per day/night cycle unless another ability says otherwise.
Your true mask is the Don Gero's Mask.
You win when the following conditions are met: You have gained at least four different types of abilities from masks you control, and Majora's Mask dies while you are still alive. When you meet these conditions, you will remove yourself from the game. While you are still in the game, you do not count towards factional win conditions. (The mask ability types are Roleblocking, Motivating, Redirecting, Protective, Killing, Investigative, Mask-Affecting, Ability Granting, Special Action, and Passive.)
Please confirm via return PM.
Mod Note: If he would gain a limited-use-per-game power from Mimic, he gains a depleted version of this power instead (will be told about this if this happens). This affects the Blast Mask, Fierce Deity’s Mask, Garo’s Mask, Mask of Time, and Great Fairy’s Mask (the main reason for this restriction).
Ahahahaha. AHAHAHAHAHAHA! HEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHE!
It's working! It's working! The Moon is tumbling down! Chaos and fire and destruction! They will scurry! They will turn on each other! And then they will all die! What fun!
KIHIHIHIHIHIHI!
Identity: Majora Alignment: Neutral Classification: Modified Serial Killer Role Type: Modified Serial Killer Alias: Seppel True Mask: None
Welcome to The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask Mafia, Seppel! You are Majora, the Modified Serial Killer. You have the following special abilities:
Factional:
Serial Killer Safeclaim – You know that Madame Aroma and Romani are not in the game and are safe for you to claim.
Serial Killer Falseclaim (two-shot, Rapid Action) – Up to two times during the game, you may PM the mod with a character name and a list of abilities. You will receive a false role PM with the given name and abilities at the earliest opportunity. (This ability is intended to show you how the game moderator would format your falseclaim if it were an actual role PM. I recommend you send in the falseclaim in advance of actually needing it - making a falseclaim PM takes time.)
(Note that you do NOT have a factional kill.)
Passive Abilities:
Corrupt Mask (game start, 1-shot) – At the beginning of the game, you MUST name a mask. This mask will become your corrupted mask. At the beginning of Day 1 (after the mask draft), you will learn the powers and superpowers (if any) of your corrupted mask. So long as the corrupted mask is worn, alignment investigations targeting you will receive results as if you were the player wearing your corrupted mask. In addition, if your corrupted mask is worn on a day or night you choose to use a killing ability, you may choose to have the player wearing the corrupted mask perform the kill in your stead and in lieu of that player’s mask action (if any).
Second Form (one-shot) – The first time you would be killed by an ability (but not a lynch) this game, the kill fails.
Song of Double Time one-shot) – If you are lynched or killed during the First Day, the game clock advances forward six hours. If you are lynched or killed during the Second Day, the game clock advances forwards three hours. (If you are lynched or killed during the Third Day, the game clock does not advance.)
Active Abilities:
Terminate (magic, two-shot) – Twice during the game, at night, you may target a player. That player will die.
Overwhelm (one-shot) – Once during the game, at night, you may target a player. That player will die. This ability cannot be roleblocked or redirected, and overrides most protective abilities. If this kill is somehow prevented, you will gain an additional use of your Terminate ability.
Conceal (one-shot) – Once during the game, at night, you may activate this ability. If you do, any ability that targets you tonight will fail to resolve.
Reveal Role (one-shot) – Once during the game, at night, you may target a player. You will receive that player's role PM, with any factional abilities and other player names that appear in that PM redacted. In addition, you will receive the PM for whatever mask that player is wearing (including superpower, if any).
Suppress (one-shot) – Once during the game, at night, you may target a player. Any ability that player uses during this night and the subsequent night will fail.
Erase (one-shot) - Once during the game, at night, you may name a mask. That mask loses all abilities at the beginning of the next game day. This ability does not target.
Shift Corruption (one-shot) - Once during the game, at night, you may name a mask other than your corrupted mask. Your existing corrupted mask (if any) becomes uncorrupted, and the chosen mask becomes your new corrupted mask.
Detonate (one-shot, Rapid Action) – Once during the game, at any time but only if your corrupted mask is worn, you may sacrifice that mask to kill the player wearing it. (That player dies unless an ability prevents the kill. Your corrupted mask is destroyed, and nothing can prevent this. If you have not used your Shift Corruption ability, you lose it permanently.)
Please note that you may use one activated ability of your role and one activated ability of your mask per day/night cycle unless another ability says otherwise.
You have no true mask.
You win the game (and all other players lose the game) if the clock hits zero before the end of the game OR if you are one of the last two players to survive. Note that you win any ties at endgame.
Please confirm via return PM with your choice for Corrupt Mask.
Mod Note: Overwhelm overrides all abilities except Ganondorf's Triforce of Power.
The four of you gather around a table near the Clock Tower. Each of you is here for a different reason, but all of you have the same goal. A new order. A better order.
But you'll have to survive long enough to bring it about.
The strange foreigner, Ganondorf, is the first to gather his thoughts and speak. “Hahahaha! Our hour is at hand! Though whatever power is moving the Moon does not realize it, it has given us the key to our success. We shall move now.”
“What do you mean, my liege?” asks the Postman. “Does not the Moon pose a dire threat to us? Should we not evacuate?”
“Threat, yes,” replies Ganondorf, “but also opportunity. Something else has forced the people of Clock Town to gather together in one place. If we strike now, we can remove the town's leadership in one fell swoop and transform it into a base of operations from which to build our rule.”
“But then, how do you plan to stop the Moon?” asks Guro-Guro.
“I have access to an artifact of great personal power, comrades,” replies Ganondorf, “and I have made contacts with the dark forces of this world. It is not yet sufficient, but it will be soon. You see, with my sorcerous power I have divined that the Moon is not just falling to the ground; rather, it is being pulled by an unseen hand, the same hand that has brought a curse upon this town. If we destroy the being responsible and take command of this town, then I can act openly without opposition and the Moon will be stopped.”
“What if you can't stop it?” asks the Postman.
“Then we leave. If we act quickly, we'll have more than enough time to either stop the Moon or get away,” replies Ganondorf.
“But how do we take command of this town? You admitted yourself that we do not yet have the strength to attack directly,” asks the Clock Town Guard.
“Is it not obvious?” says Ganondorf. “We subvert. We attack from within. We shall disguise ourselves as ordinary citizens of Clock Town and pretend to assist in the hunt for the being responsible for this. Indeed, we shall hunt that being ourselves. But while they are distracted, we shall also whittle down Clock Town one by one. In the end, we shall be the only ones left standing.”
You nod to yourselves. Yes, the plan is good. It will work.
“Let's get to it, then.”
Enter, conspirators! For you are the members of the Mafia: Generic (Ganondorf, Mafia Great King of Evil, Arcadic (Postman, Mafia Investigator, The Most Curious Thing (Guro-Guro, Mafia Rainmaker, and Wheat_Grinder (Clock Town Guard, Mafia Goon). As Mafia members, you have access to the following abilities:
Factional Abilities:
Mafioso – You may talk to other members of the Mafia at any time using this QuickTopic.
Mafia Safeclaims – You know that Kafei, Anju, and the Bomb Shop Owner are not in the game, and that Clock Town Guard is the default role name and is safe for you to claim. Note: It may be safer to use your actual role names when claiming. You have been warned.
Mafia Falseclaim (limited shot, Rapid Action) – At any time, you may PM the mod with a character name and a list of abilities. You will receive a false role PM with the given name and abilities at the earliest opportunity. Each Mafioso may use this ability twice. (This ability is intended to show you how the game moderator would format your falseclaim if it were an actual role PM. I recommend you send in the falseclaim in advance of actually needing it - making a falseclaim PM takes time.)
In addition, the Mafia as a faction has access to certain activated abilities. On any night, the Mafia may send a member to use one of these abilities in lieu of either their regular activated ability or their Mask's activated ability (if any). The Mafia as a faction may use each of these abilities once per night (motivation does not affect this factional limit).
Factional Activated Abilities:
Mafia Kill – Each night, the Mafia may send one of its number to target another player. The targeted player will die. Note that each Mafioso has a distinct kill method when performing the kill (“magicked” for Ganondorf, “bombed” for the Postman, “collapsed” for Guro-Guro, and “stabbed” for the Clock Town Goon). If you are one of the last two Mafiosos alive, using this ability does not count towards activated ability limits. This ability cannot be motivated by any means.
Shred Mask – During each night, the Mafia may select one of their number and target a mask. The selected Mafioso will prevent that mask's wearer (if any) from using that Mask's activated abilities tonight, and that mask will be destroyed at the beginning of the next game day.
Good luck!
Hahahahahahaha! That boy Link, that girl Zelda, and those Sages thought that they could keep you sealed away forever. They underestimated you. You found a way out of the Sacred Realm. You are free once again.
But you can't just go back to Hyrule and try again. They're on the lookout for you still, and Link and Zelda are still around. You need more force if you're to rule Hyrule once again. Which is why you came here.
Here in this faraway land you can rebuild your forces in quiet, away from the prying eyes of any Hylian or Sage. But the going has been a bit slow. You've only made three disciples so far – that power-hungry Clock Town Guard, that postman you mind-controlled and promised to make head of the postal service, and that musician you introduced to the Poe composer Sharp. But that is about to change. This situation offers great opportunities to those with the will and power to take advantage of them.
The rebuilding of your empire of evil begins here.
Identity: Ganondorf Alignment: Mafia Classification: Great King of Evil Role Type: Strongman Alias: Generic True Mask: Fierce Deity's Mask
Welcome to The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask Mafia, Generic. You are Ganondorf, the Mafia Great King of Evil. In addition to your powers as a member of the Mafia, you have the following special abilities:
Passive Abilities:
Triforce of Power (item, triggered, one-shot) – The first killing ability that targets you this game will have no effect. (Lynches aren’t targeted.)
Pipe Organ with the Inverted Song of Time – As long as at least one player has an Inverted Song of Time ability (including yourself), the game clock moves at half speed.
Magic Missile (triggered, two-shot) – Twice during the game, you may invoke this ability while performing the Mafia kill. If you do, you will kill the player targeted by the Mafia kill twice, and the kill method changes to “shotgunned”.
Activated Abilities:
None
Please note that you may use one activated ability of your role and one activated ability of your mask per day/night cycle unless another ability says otherwise.
Your true mask is the Fierce Deity's Mask.
You win when at least half of all surviving players are Mafia.

Once you were just a simple postman. You picked up and delivered the mail, keeping to the tightest of schedules. You liked your duty and were good at it. You were happy?
But then a strange man came. You would have ignored him, but he convinced you to listen. He showed you things you'd never dreamed of before – visions of a great empire, with a mail service precise to the second. A mail service with you in charge.
You have tasted of the dream of power, and were forevermore changed by it. Obedience and assistance for greatness. You'll take that bargain.
Identity: Postman Alignment: Mafia Classification: Investigator Role Type: Item/Mask Cop Alias: Arcadic True Mask: Postman's Hat
Welcome to The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask Mafia, Arcadic. You are the Postman, a Mafia Investigator. You have the following special abilities:
Passive Abilities:
Letter Bomb (triggered, one-shot) – Once during the game, while performing the Mafia kill, you may elect to send your bomb to the target via the mail system. If you do, that player will not die at the end of the night, but instead die at the end of the following day (at the same time as the lynch). When using this ability, you cannot be roleblocked or redirected, and a kill delayed in this way bypasses many (but not all!) protective abilities.
Activated Abilities:
Lens of Truth (item) – Each night, you may target another player. You will learn the name and effect of each {item} that player possesses and the normal abilities of each mask that player is wearing. This item cannot be stolen.
Please note that you may use one activated ability of your role and one activated ability of your mask per day/night cycle unless another ability says otherwise.
Your true mask is the Postman's Hat.
You win when at least half of all surviving players are Mafia.
Please confirm via return PM.
They laughed at you back in the day. You know that, now. “Oh look at silly old Guro-Guro with his silly music box!” they said, though only behind your back. But you kept your spirits up and kept playing, because you were good at heart... and because would never believe that's what they really thought about you.
Then that strange man came and introduced you to Sharp, the Poe of an ancient royal composer. Sharp is brilliant! The two of you make great music together – strange, eerie, beautiful. And Sharp teaches you about other things, too! Things like power, and hatred, and betrayal, and how this land is corrupt and must be purged.
And now, with Ganondorf's help, you can cleanse the corruption and make Termina pure again.
“Yes,” says Sharp. “All will be pure once the unworthy ones are dead.”
Identity: Guro-Guro Alignment: Mafia Classification: Hookshot User Role Type: Roleblocker/Mask Remover Alias: The Most Curious Thing True Mask: None
Welcome to The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask Mafia, The Most Curious Thing! You are Guro-Guro, the Mafia Hookshot User. In addition to your abilities as a member of the Mafia, you have the following special abilities:
Passive Abilities:
Last Will – When you die, you may target another player. That player will gain the Hookshot item at the beginning of the next game phase. (The game phases are day and night.)
Activated Abilities:
Hookshot (item) – During each night, you may target a player. Any actions that player uses tonight will fail to resolve, and you will knock off that player’s mask at the beginning of the next game day. If you successfully knock off that player’s mask in this way, you may exchange it with your own immediately prior to the next Mask Draft. (your previous mask enters the Unworn Mask Pool). This item cannot be stolen.
Please note that you may use one activated ability of your role and one activated ability of your mask per day/night cycle unless another ability says otherwise.
You have no true mask.
You win when at least half of all surviving players are Mafia.
Please confirm via return PM.
But the only part you cared about was the possibility of advancement and influence. When you started out in the Guard, you made sure to do your best. You guarded the gates zealously and brought the occasional troublemaker to justice. You outdid everyone else! But almost nobody ever got promoted, and when a promotion did occur it went to one of those old-timers who didn't even care anymore. You didn't even get a raise for years, just an occasional “performance bonus”.
So you started helping the other side. First it was that thief and that store that sells stolen goods. Both blatantly illegal, but a few rupees ensured that you'd look the other way. Then a few more rupees later and you were actively helping the criminals.
But that strange new man's offer is something else entirely. He's offered you power and fame and money, and all you have to do is obey and help.
How could you say no?

That player will gain the chosen ability at the beginning of the next game day. There is, however, a catch: this ability can only grant each power once during the course of the game. You have put on the Zora Mask! Wear it with [C]! It turns you into a Zora guitar hero! Only problem is, that guitar won't do you much good here. Maybe your ability to swim and your wrist-mounted boomerangs will be more worthwhile...

Then remove the Mask of Time from the game (functionally destroying it) and its former wearer may immediately select a new mask.
As much as I want to blame LnG for that endgame, it's entirely my fault for letting Wheat get away with his botched Vanilla claim on D3. There was always a townie that was just a little scummier than him.
Arcadic and TMCT both outed themselves as mafia by accusing people of being Majora (Generic on D5 also, but that's moot). I was shocked that they so blatantly revealed themselves. The hardest part was getting them lynched, since everyone was convinced that they were town.
I would have been more inclined to kill the mafia sooner if like every townie ever wouldn't have announced their intents to investigate me.
The town was just a little too eager to follow me on every wagon. JeY's AEzWoLG shot also cost the town the game.

By the end of the game I had my four masks and had pretty much figured out who majora was. Feels like a win in my book considering I lived as long as I did when everyone hated me.
Seppel's persistance gotta be praised. Scum definitely deserved the win, but Seppel winning it would also be fair. I was rooting for him until scum outed themselves, because man, that was ****ing awesome! Congratz guys
This game, the endgame in particular, is IMO a prime example of how blindly trying to game the mod instead of actually playing Mafia (via behavioral analysis) screws things up more often that not. Although I'm generally lazy enough to do it, rereading the game is always a better idea than betting what the mod did or didn't (especially complex games as this one). The absence of a cop was an interesting massclaim protection, and Arcadic almost got away with it.
Also I was bashing my head on the monitor every time the Mafia got accused of harboring Majora. Dammit guys! Post #9!!
Arcadic and TMCT both outed themselves as mafia by accusing people of being Majora (Generic on D5 also, but that's moot). I was shocked that they so blatantly revealed themselves. The hardest part was getting them lynched, since everyone was convinced that they were town.
Ugh, I am so dumb. I didn't even think that Seppel was offering a win with me by lunching scum, then killin another scum and lynching Zinger the next Day. Ugh. What a bad loss. Sorry for being dumb town
I didn't realize it until after the no lynch, when Seppel said that I must have thought there was a double agent, then I knew Seppel was Majora. Arghh I was this close to giving town a win.
If there wasn't still a sliver of a chance of a town victory, I would happily copy/paste the 3 different roleblock phrasings I received each nights 2-4 just to prove you wrong.
OH
OH BABY
HEY ZINGER
YOU SAID YOU DON'T GIVE IN TO THREATS BUT IT'S THE MAFIA THREATENING YOU
SO NOW IT'S MY TURN
LYNCH MAFIA OR ELSE I'LL QUOTE MY ENTIRE ROLE PM TO GET MODKILLED, AND MAKE YOU LOSE
I love you Zinger.
I really don't know why Seppel wasn't publicly slapped down for this post. Being deliberately modkilled means that you are ruining the game for the other players. Threatening to do so should not be tolerated. This is not behaviour that can be condoned, and Seppel should know better.
To be fair Generic, a lot of people thought you were scum; they just believed your bomb claim
And there were a lot of ineffective town players this game. The Guardman lynch was horrible, JeY didn't really use her near conftown status effectively, and town always picked the wrong person given a choice. Proph instead of wheat, shooting lizard etc etc.
The early hole by town killed us. The fact that we even had a chance in the end was pretty lucky.
@Generic: Seppel killed Iso. Iso was posthumously modkilled because he included this game in his Mafia stats after he died, with something like "Killed by the SK". Proph noticed it, that's why he had to ask for replacement.
Sorry for the modkill threat. I was running out of outs. And I was posting so fast that I was surprised that nobody called me out on acting a lot like I did in The Hobbit:
The mafia chat... oh my god it's all "seppel seppel seppel seppel seppel seppel"
Quote from Wheat »
So if Seppel jails one of us, it's only an issue if it's Arcadic. And I doubt Seppel would jail Arcadic.
Reading this scumchat is making me realize that I was the only thing keeping the Town alive and the Mafia on their toes.
[Edit: Just saw that the block didn't affect the mailbomb. ]
[Edit: The reason I didn't kill Zinger N1 was because Tar reminded me I could kill Iso. So I did, forgetting that that meant I couldn't kill Zinger that night. Also I forgot to submit an action N2.]
I suicide bombed Generic Night 1 because I knew I wouldn't be able to lynch him because I never get enough people to follow me. I knew he was scum because his wall-fight with Iso was identical to his wall-fight with me in House (a lot of words with little content, accomplishing nothing of worth to town, and the tone).
The worst part is that I was so close to killing Arcadic instead because I just had a feeling - I even stated that in my pm to the Mod. That would have radically change the game. (Or like, not having 3+ Bulletproofs in a game with a suicide bomber would be nice :()
The town was just a little too eager to follow me on every wagon. JeY's AEzWoLG shot also cost the town the game.
What IS that acronym even >_<
Also I had Generic pinned D1, and I don't know who said he was "confirmed town" but I just shuffled him under a rug until I realized that whoever said that was BS'ing me. I never gave up that thought that Generic had something wrong with him.
I also knew something was up with Seppel since D1.
This is the last straw; I do not doubt my intuition ever again in Mafia.
I believe I PM'd Tar at some point saying "here's my plan, it's only going to screw up if the mafia reveal themselves but I don't think they're that smart/ballsy."
Quote from DK »
plus it was in Seppel's best interests to keep at least one scum alive until the bitter end or else things might have turned against him. I think the way he was leading the town around on a leash with the claim anaylsis and modgaming was calculated, and he probably suspected at least one of the people he was townfirming was scum.
Yup. I needed those boys alive. The JeYvig+mailbomb threw me for a loop though.
@Tar, re my boneheaded move, I did feel there was a possibility of a double agent. If that was the case, then lynching ScumMajora would cause Zinger to leave the game, then mafia kills me and endgame town!Seppel.
In the end, yes boneheaded move for me to not understand that Seppel was trying to get the win with me and town, but it wasnt like I had no logic behind my actions. BAD logic perhaps, but it wasnt like I had no reason behind it.
And Seppel couldn't argue against a double agent because that would have outed himself as Majora, and I couldn't trust scum, so I had no one town to tell me "no way would there be a double agent, that's too bastardy" that I could trust.
I thought so. Now tell us what AEzWoLGWtFbbQ means.
It's a term used (Players names) for past Vig's that thought they knew what they were doing, despite others telling them not to, but still acted in there own way which hindered the Town.
Someone correct me if I am wrong, please.
I was rooting for Seppel to win this. Oh well.
Great job Scum team for claiming and surviving! Won't happen again for a while I am sure!
If there wasn't still a sliver of a chance of a town victory, I would happily copy/paste the 3 different roleblock phrasings I received each nights 2-4 just to prove you wrong.

And also this is why Seppel wasn't lynched on Day 5. Basically because of this threat I lost the game. Not cool.
If it were a 3-way, and I had been the only townie left, and he refused to comply, then I would have no win possible, and therefore could only play to their loss conditions.
If it were a 3-way, and I had been the only townie left, and he refused to comply, then I would have no win possible, and therefore could only play to their loss conditions.
Are you trying to say that your threat was a valid tactic? Because I think there's valid precedent for loss by modkill being worse than a normal loss.

MAFIA FACTIONAL ABILITIES:
Mafia Kill - used by GENERIC targeting SEPPEL
Shred Mask - used by WHEAT_GRINDER targeting CAPTAIN'S HAT
Safeclaims (Kafei, Anju, Bomb Shop Owner)
Day 1 results:
- Seppel corrupts the Fierce Deity's Mask, which will cease to have any game effect later in the day.
- Zinger uses Mask Database on the Fierce Deity's Mask, learning its normal power (but not the superpower)
- Seppel uses Detonate Mask, killing Link and thus getting rid of multiple kills AND an instance of the Inverted Song of Time. Shift Corruption no longer has any effect and is lost. Seppel has used all his role actions for the cycle, and cannot use an action Night 1.
- swishh is modkilled (mask PM quote as per rule 4a)
Night 1 results:
Barring AG firing his global roleblock:
- Iso is dead
- JeY k Vigils Seppel with the Mask of Truth, seeing three other players target him - this is a judgment call, two is also acceptable
- Tingle Enemy Scans Arianrhod, learning that he is a Clock Town Guard
- AtheistGod takes no action
- Guardman attempts to Steal Item from Wheat (would steal the Don Gero's Mask) and Bubble Zinger, but is roleblocked. As per order of operations, the roleblock component of Bubble goes through (stopping Zinger's attempts at trading shenanigans) but both the untargetability and the mask steal are blocked and the Deku Mask is knocked off.
- Asenion Knocks Off Guardman's Mask (redundant!) and uses Learn the Heart's Pain on AsianInvasion, successfully learning that his True Mask is the Romani Mask
- AsianInvasion Tracks Ghosting and sees him target Seppel and Zinger2099. However, Arcadic has wiretapped his results PM, so he may or may not be informed of this!
- swishh is dead
- Ghosting Bodyguards Seppel - successfully redirecting the Mafia kill! (which would have crosskilled the SK, so...) - and Hides the Keaton Mask (this goes through before the Song of Healing(
- Arianrhod successfully grants Double Defense (1-shot bulletproof shield, but not a super-bulletproof) to Seppel - as of now, the Mafia will have to spend two NKs to get rid of him, period.
- Sir Karn Suicide Bombs Generic - Sir Karn dies and the Blast Mask is destroyed, but the Generic kill is stopped by the Triforce of Power.
- Prophyaxis doesn't do anything (his mask power isn't useful at Night, and he has no role abilities). The Garo's Mask is knocked off.
- Zinger2099 attempts to Keaton's Mischief himself and Asenion and attempts to Trade JeY k and Wheat_Grinder, but both are blocked by Bubble. His Keaton Mask is also stolen - he gains its power via his Mimic ability, getting one of the four abilities he needs to win. But Majora narrowly escapes and Zinger will almost certainly die N2.
- Seppel, having Detonated his corrupted mask earlier in the day, can perform no actions. The Mafia attempts to kill him, which would have punched through his bulletproof shield... but Ghosting saves him, redirecting both kills to himself. Seppel also gains a (normal) bulletproof (the Double Defense) at the start of D2, which gives him enough protection to survive Generic's remaining use of Magic Missile.
- Generic attempts to use Magic Missile on Seppel but is redirected to Ghosting. Additionally, his Captain's Hat is Shredded.
- Arcadic uses Lens of Truth on JeY, learning about both of JeY's masks. Additionally, he wiretaps AsianInvasion, successfully intercepting a Track results PM.
- The Most Curious Thing successfully Hookshots Guardman and Prophylaxis, successfully stopping Guardman's Steal Item and the untargetability component of the Deku Mask's Bubble (but not the roleblock component of Bubble or Proph's nonexistent abilities) and knocking off both of their masks.
- Wheat_Grinder successfully Shreds the Captain's Hat. He attempts to remove Zinger's Mask via the Song of Healing, but fails as Ghosting stole it first!

- Arianrhod successfully gives out the Enhanced Spin Attack to TMCT (oops). His Great Fairy's Mask is knocked off (probably for the best - the last ability is the nearly-useless Double Magic Meter).
- Seppel successfully Terminates little lizard. His attempt to Bubble Arcadic runs into Shred Mask - the untargetability component fails, the roleblock component goes through, and the Deku Mask is destroyed.
- Zinger attempts to trade the Postman's Hat for one of JeY's masks and Search Generic's mail, but runs into a bad case of Hookshot. His mask is knocked off (he gains Search Mail with Mimic, for 2/4 abilities).

- Arcadic uses Letter Bomb on JeY and attempts to Hide the Goron Mask; Seppel's block prevents the latter but not the former.
- TMCT successfully Hookshots both Zinger and little lizard.

I thought so. Now tell us what AEzWoLGWtFbbQ means.
It's a term used (Players names) for past Vig's that thought they knew what they were doing, despite others telling them not to, but still acted in there own way which hindered the Town.
Iso is from my understanding. If they are not brothers than they have this going on for too long now. Seriously, though, I was introduced to them as brothers over a year ago when I signed up to play here.
Warning: If you read the mafia chat you'll see us circlejerking about how awesome our team was.
(But c'mon, it was the best WIFOM-y team ever, plus TMCT who somehow gets confirmed town all the time)
Also that endgame probably is going to go down as one of the most stressful and ultimately most interesting endgames of all time. OF ALL TIME. (In fact the only endgame I love more is Legend of Aang having me as town getting lynched after being correct (and very vocal) about the mafia only to be revived as mafia and going on to win the game with the very same mafia)
Not killing Zinger was a mistake, IMO. It led to the ending where we could put you and LnGrrrR through the Generic Grinder instead of marshalling the town into killing the obv scum. Any player who wasn't Zinger as the fifth slot probably would have cost us the game.
The acronym is two players names put together into an unholy conglomeration which ultimately means "To shoot town as a vig"
Oh also I was a mask serial killer my true objective was to shred every mask in the game and I was well on my way to that.
No way! small world.
I was actually 'Mr Miller', and my wincon was to have everyone call me scum either in game or in the spectators chat but never actually get lynched or killed...
And i would of gotten away with it too if it wasnt for that pesky Seppel
This thread of modkill is disgusting and completely against mafia spirit, the last time something so ugly like that happened Artifice was put on probation, I request the same to Seppel. This is not a joke.
Tar also should've modkilled him on spot, but I can understand him not doing it because the game had too many of those already.

Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
The game is not being dumbed down. Control is doing fine; Draw-Go is not the only kind of control. Aggro is doing fine; Red Deck Wins is not the only kind of aggro. Creature combat is an important core concept and belongs in every color. Mythic rarity is not destroying the game. People whine too much for no good reason. Magic is more popular than ever, so keep calm, brew some decks and play some damn cards.
aka "Ganonjack"

Now sign up for Social Engineering Mafia II!
I was rooting for Seppel after I realized how awfully the town was playing after my death.

You just couldn't let me win, could you?
By the end of the game I had my four masks and had pretty much figured out who majora was. Feels like a win in my book considering I lived as long as I did when everyone hated me.
Still...wish I had lynched your ass.
I'm so spite killing you first chance I get. FY

Post #9!!
Ahem.

I really don't know why Seppel wasn't publicly slapped down for this post. Being deliberately modkilled means that you are ruining the game for the other players. Threatening to do so should not be tolerated. This is not behaviour that can be condoned, and Seppel should know better.
Club Flamingo Wins: 1!
Club Flamingo Wins: 1!
Also hey Mafia, what was up with your kill choices? Sir Karn? AsianInvasion? Whyyyyy?
I'm reading the mafia chat now. You guys were on me like a stingray on Steve Irwin!

The worst part is that I was so close to killing Arcadic instead because I just had a feeling - I even stated that in my pm to the Mod. That would have radically change the game. (Or like, not having 3+ Bulletproofs in a game with a suicide bomber would be nice :()

I believe I PM'd Tar at some point saying "here's my plan, it's only going to screw up if the mafia reveal themselves but I don't think they're that smart/ballsy."
Yup. I needed those boys alive. The JeYvig+mailbomb threw me for a loop though.
In the end, yes boneheaded move for me to not understand that Seppel was trying to get the win with me and town, but it wasnt like I had no logic behind my actions. BAD logic perhaps, but it wasnt like I had no reason behind it.

I was rooting for Seppel to win this. Oh well.
Great job Scum team for claiming and surviving! Won't happen again for a while I am sure!

Cmon, this ain't true. You were dead on Generic being Majora...
Regardless, don't ever believe in modkill threats. If Seppel had carried away with it (he wouldn't), Seppel would have been put on probation.
Are you trying to say that your threat was a valid tactic? Because I think there's valid precedent for loss by modkill being worse than a normal loss.
Club Flamingo Wins: 1!
Yeah. Pretty much ruined any chance of extending the game to time.
I tracked Wheat_Grinder killing me. So if he had killed someone else, he would have been dead meat. C'est la vie.

- swishh is modkilled (mask PM quote as per rule 4a)

Fixed. It was unilateral Vign'.
AE, AZ, WoLG=Well of Lost Gnomes.
They hate us cause they ain't us.
I was scared ****less that you would learn my alignment, so this would never have happened.
Iso is from my understanding. If they are not brothers than they have this going on for too long now. Seriously, though, I was introduced to them as brothers over a year ago when I signed up to play here.
Not killing Zinger was a mistake, IMO. It led to the ending where we could put you and LnGrrrR through the Generic Grinder instead of marshalling the town into killing the obv scum. Any player who wasn't Zinger as the fifth slot probably would have cost us the game.
The acronym is two players names put together into an unholy conglomeration which ultimately means "To shoot town as a vig"
Holy cow that's one of my provisions too.
Are you sure we aren't secretly on the same team?
Tar also should've modkilled him on spot, but I can understand him not doing it because the game had too many of those already.
Mythic rarity is not destroying the game. People whine too much for no good reason. Magic is more popular than ever, so keep calm, brew some decks and play some damn cards.
And if he did I don't expect that he'd be a repeat offender.
I do not support action taken against him.
I think that the modkill against swishh was excessive. I think Tar thinks the same way from what I recall, but still.
In general I think there was just too much readiness to modkill over offenses not worthy of it.
