Consider that Hidden Strings cannot target the same permanent with both of its targets. You'll need 2 Heroics to do this shenanigan. Also you'd first gain the Heroic at end of combat, which makes it not very impactful as most Heroic-abilities we've seen so far works best FOR combat and not after.

All very true, but as we've only seen 3 heroes and only in GRW, I don't think we've seen the limit of hero abilities. I fully expect a blue hero which draws cards or something similar. Hidden strings does work well with the red 1 drop hero already. You do need two heroes out to abuse hidden strings though.
Note: saying most Heroic-abilities we've seen so far works best before combat isn't the best use of the word "most". You have a sample size of 3.

Every time I read a comment about "Well if this card had card draw/trample/haste/indestructible/hexproof/life gain...", I think "You're missing the point." They're armchair developer comments that fail to take into account the card's role in the greater Limited and Standard environment. No, it may not be as good as whatever card you're comparing it to. There's a reason for that. Not every burn spell is Lightning Bolt, nor does it need to be or should be.

I feel like having Akroan Crusader and a Young Pyromancer in play is enough to make these sorts of shenanigans quite good as you net a dude or two and tap down a blocker, swing in, net another dude or two and untap a land.
Sure, it's quite fragile. But it seems strong enough to build around. Possibly include white for Anex and Cymede so you can heroic a soft Overrun.
I love hidden strings. Even if you only have 1 heroic, lets say the new 1/1 token maker, you can make 2 tokens and untap 2 lands, netting 2 free 1/1s an extra point of damage, and vigilance for a turn, and then what ever your 2 drop is, pyromancer perhaps? Every turn after that gives vigilance and more tokens from combat damage.
There is also the new devotion land to untap with hidden strings!

You are basically correct, the tokens have haste, so you would get to swing with both the first token and the red 1 drop dealing 2 damage t2.

Hidden Strings can potentially throw up 4 triggers the turn you play it and we still have a ton of archetype support in Young Pyromancer and friends.
Even with just that one common that makes 1/1 Hasty tokens spoiled you can already imagine some not-quite-christmasland plays.
I suppose it depends on what other Heroic creatures we get but I like what we have even now.
