Impressive. A 3/2 deathtouch for 3 is playable by itself. Add in a good number of combat tricks and this card has potential to be a little crazy. With tokens pretty much disappearing (at least of the 1/1 Spirit en masse variety) it will be able to clear the way of larger threats.

Repeatable edict on a 3/2 deathtouch for 3 seems pretty dang good!

that's not what happened at all. kamahl stabbed phage, akroma, and some old lady and they became korona. then korona got stabbed by her "prophets" and kamahl got drunk with a mutant centaur
Interesting, now if only we have those heroic enablers then this card could be a thing. Also this a bit more different than the other Heroic cards and more powerful, making your own creature stronger at the same time having removal so eliminating defenders and your opponents other creatures. Heck you can trigger heroic during your battlephase, pump this opponents sacs a creature.
Well what makes this guy amazing is Diabolic Edict is already worth 1B, so casting anything at 1-CMC targeting him is already gravy. Would glady line up for that '2-for-1'; worst case you break even card wise and usually ahead mana-wise. I can understand why he sold out at Starcity for being posted at less than a dollar.
That is one hell of a nice ability. It completely negates card disadvantage from auras and can slow the opponent down a lot if he survives a turn. I could see him working nicely in a slower Black deck, since his Deathtouch body also means he'll trade with any attacker.
This is my favorite card with Heroic spoiled yet. Just think in a UB deck, having this out as well as Triton Fortune Hunter and having Agoraphobia in hand, and being able to continually trigger both heroic abilities. Pretty sweet.
You might want to hoplite over to the spoilers and check your math.

I fear I won't have much time to play Magic these days.
I get to watch worlds develop around me.
I get to watch great leaders, terrible oppressors, and trend setters rise and fall.
Limited, Standard, Modern, everything is a different playing field I feel I can observe, but will not actually touch.
I look forward to the stories I will hear.
And more so to the ones I will watch unfold first hand.
Isn't the unknown exciting?
To do that, we'd actually need good auras. Bestow is overcosted, and the Ordeals, while great in limited, are not cards for standard.
I'm holding out hope for a few straightforward, high-power Auras.
One or another of those Ordeals might squeak through the door of Standard competitiveness. I'm not writing them all off yet.
Another way to look at it is that RtR block has some solid Auras that will probably become more relevant as the Standard meta rotates. And if you're talking Limited or Block Constructed, bestow is actually playable in those formats.
Mmm, not bad, not good, very situational, if it just had 3 toughness instead of 2... the white one has double strike, and when targeted keeps a 1+1 counter...
Oooh, hidden strings on this dude, psuedo vigilant opponent sacs a creature each time you attack. U/B is getting puuuushed. This is like makeup sex for how meh both izzet and dmir were in RtR.
dont be affraid guys.. we still have nearly every common in the set to be spoiled, which means we will see a lot of common instant and sorcerys which target your creatures, to enable heroic.
this kind of spells are just mostly common, so we didnt see them yet.
I thought that it was red that needed to be fixed.
The issue with red was never really power-level so much as it was narrow design space. They gave red 'bad looting' and now, with Chandra, temporary card draw (which Maro says we'll likely see more of).
Green was the color that they were focusing on, but I feel in the last couple of years they've done a good job of powering it up a bit. Black's popularity has fallen by the wayside in the meantime, so now they're looking at black to spruce it up.

Pff, Kaervek did the whole black Black mage back in Jamuura.
(Although I guess most of the people in Jamuura were black)

Storm Crow is strictly worse than Seacoast Drake.

Pythons are not threatening. They're snakes that hug you. I'll take the dude with the floating daggers.

I think just black/white knight/paladin.

Oh, how I wish it was the former. This set badly needs some good devotion enablers. but no way, it's gotta be the latter.
It's kind of like a supped-up Royal Assasain maybe? Or poerhaps a watered down one...

Red is doing JUST fine
The problem was that monoblack was not seeing any play at all at the competitive level
Since Theros is going to push monocolour it makes sense for them to give Black some new powerful toys

Grixis Cipher could be horribly OP if the duals from M13 weren't rotating out (the new ones aren't bad but they do slow the game down considerably).
Hidden Strings FTW.

I can approve of a Royal Assassin that beats face while he clears the board. ....you have hexproof? thats cute. Die!
