I think 150 basic lands would be sufficient so do you guys think 510 double sleeved cards would fit in about 12 inches of space? I'm thinking its cutting it close and would not fit.
Also, I'm wondering if anyone has ordered a box of dragon shields from potomac distribution?
My number one concern with dragon shields is inconsistent cut length...I'm thinking its possible that if all are from the same box, the cut length will be consistent?
thanks in advance.
I actually use a similar case for my cube (the one with all the white cards) and it has enough room for 540 single-sleeved with about 4 or 5 inches leftover.
Where's the best place to buy bulk sleeves reasonably? Searching the web, it's hard to find someone simply selling a lot of the same sleeve. They tend to be selling cases of packs of sleeves you would buy at the LGS.

The kmc hyper mats are awesome. I would say its a mix between the texture of ultra pros, with the durability and feel of the normal kmc mats.
Shuffle feel? Stick-factor? Durability? I too have questions only I'd be willing to resleeve my entire collection (I heavily downsized recently so a potomac order could suffice)

I mean, hell, we're all on a forum for something that most people would describe as a "children's card game"...do what makes you happy. You are never too old to enjoy yourself.
I am getting close to finishing my budget all multicolored cube and I was looking to sleeve it in a different color than my normal KMC black. Given the bright and silly nature of this cube, I was looking to sleeve it with a bit more flamboyance.
I have seen the attached sleeves a couple times before, with the foily-metallic back, usually shipped to me as a cheap protection sleeve from a store. These would be perfect, but I have no idea how to find them or what they are called.
EDIT: Seems I was wrong. He reports them splitting all the time. Time to look for other flamboyant sleeves...
Gold Dragon Shield is the best "flashy" (for lack of a better word) near-flamboyant sleeve I'd run. The Pinks are see-through. I inquired about Purple a while back but didn't like their real-life look.

Does anyone know how many double sleeved cards fit in a standard "modern" fat pack box? Assuming 300 single sleeved cards fit, I guess. After seeing a drink take out some cards tonight, I'm definitely seeing the wisdom of double sleeves.

Probably around 230. I kind of hate filling up fat pack boxes though. The inner trim of the lid can catch cards at the edges and fold them in when you close the box.
Use with care, or put cards into other boxes/containers before putting them in the fat pack box.

I've had good results using toploaders as an extra wall on the ends of fat pack boxes. Works well to hold up the inner-top-thing of the box and keep it from crushing your cards.

I was actually about to post the Cube Vault case as well from kickstarter. I'm considering contributing, and you all should too. Check out the link above.
1) I really dislike the logo. The basic cube is excellent, but the cross bones is so goofy. I know the "cube" alone isn't unique enough to trademark as a logo so there would have to be something more, but it just looks so tacky to me. I would rather have the words "Cube Vault" printed in place of the cross bones.
2) I'm wondering if the final deign will have smaller 3-number-lock-things on the top. The ones in the video look to be at least twice the size of my ideal locking mechanism. Aesthetically, they stand out too much as "blocky things stuck onto a case."
(Of the 2, the logo bugs me much more.)
Good things?
Looks sturdy. Nice handle. Any locking mechanism at all is super nice. The inner lining looks good. Lots of room for dice/tokens.
edit: Something more like this:
Maybe a little smaller, not sure. But close to this over the cross bones.
Just my opinion. Many others may disagree with me.
edit again: *snip*
Note: I will likely back this anyway, despise my nitpicks (if I have the money). It's much more good than bad.
Well I would, but they only ship to US. Disappointing indeed!
You can always get it sent to me and I can ship it to you if you really want one. Though shipping something like this to NZ would probably be expensive.

People, this project is up on Kickstarter right now, and it is the answer to our cube storage problems! Fund it!
(I am unaffiliated with the project, but this seems amazing!)
I forgot that this was a product. Was really tempted to back the kickstarter above, but since I only have a Ravnica cube, I couldn't really justify the cost. Its not like my cube is worth thousands of dollars. Would be kind of silly to have it on lockdown like it was some super precious thing.
edit: It should be noted that if I bought this last November when it first came out, the MSRP was $19.99. Right now, the cheapest ones are going for $35 on eBay. The one I just bought was $20 and includes everything but the 4 boosters.

I really like these boxes. Holds the cards well.
There will be a new Theros one later this year (round Holiday time in the US). You can probably pick them at MSRP at your local Walmart / Target
I got to look at the prototype Cube Vault at GenCon this weekend and I will be backing this project. The thing is very sturdy hand has a lot of room inside. As an aside, I got to talk to the guy who is running the project and it sounds like since the number of people who wants these is low enough that he might only do one run of them and that's it. Take that with a grain of salt, though it sounded like he wanted this to be a "pimp" item for cubers (kind of like the old Rook cases that are impossible to find).

thanks for the heads up.
some of the different levels on the kickstarter project confound me.
i.e
$100 for the cube vault
$110 for the same cube vault
You would think that at 110, maybe throw folks a bone with the sleeves or the dice.

Those are both just early bird discounts of the $125 tier. You'll notice both the $100 and $110 options are capped at 25 backers each, the $125 option is not.
