Okay, so i stumbled across this artical last night and I thought I would share it with the internet world.... I find it sad/sick/fun/stuiped all in one big mess. Just thought I would ask you guys what you guys think on it. Personaly, I think it is wrong on some many levels but hey this is America what can we come up with next?
*I do beleive this is the right place to post this, if im wrong please tell me* I think this should be a demotivator saying "Your doing it wrong!!"
The funny thing is that some guys will ACTUALLY bid on this. I could see the comical bids of D bucks Take it or leave it...lol But I am not sure what to make of this crap.
Is she a genius for this?
Or
Are the guys that SAD for paying THAT much...?
No, I have to agree with MikeyG here. If she wants her first time to be with some guy who'll pay her a ****load of money, so be it. I'm not sure what the issue is at all, except for people like you.

Me and my morals. Gosh. Having high morals is so unnecessary these days.
MikeyG sorry that i ran this before knowing that you guys have talked about it before hand. I find it funny because during the Vet. War, *****s would sell there so called Virginaty to American soldiers. At that time we on the main land called it wrong, sick and overwhelming to hear. Look at us now, discussing it over internet with many differnt feelings on the subject, some saying its nothing, others saying its wrong. Wrong or not in your own mind, post-modernism has taken a toll on us that what was wrong 50 or more years ago in an other country is totally okay now in ours... maybe we should watch our history.
Disclaimer - Please, do not take this as if I am Anti-American, because i love my country %100
Me and my morals. Gosh. Having high morals is so unnecessary these days.
When the morals are based on something that is really arbitrary an inconsequential (having or not having had sex), yes, they probably are unnecessary.
When you actually sit and think about it, why is it so important to everyone whether or not someone has had sex? It seems like a rather unimportant and arbitrary thing to place so much value in. That goes for both sides since there are as many who consider virginity something precious as there are those who feel it needs to be gotten rid of as soon as physically possible. Both sides just come across as entirely irrational to me because I've never seen the big deal about virginity one way or the other.

My guess is that leftover Puritanical leanings were why it was more unanimously described as wrong back then.
What gets me now is the hypocrisy. We sell our bodies daily. We (well, all of us with jobs) all get paid based on our time, our efforts, using our bodies to produce something or otherwise get something done. When you break it down, that's what we do, we sell parts of ourselves. Why is it suddenly unthinkable when the part of an individual being sold is her unused ******?
Selling sex is something that happens constantly, and I don't even just mean prostitution. Marketing campaigns are overwhelmingly based on using sex to sell; models, actors and other performers are paid as much for their looks as for their talents; waiters and waitresses use their bodies and charms to increase tips. People in general use their sexuality to snag potential mates. Selling sexuality happens on some level every moment of every day.
And if you weren't selling, you've been buying.
So I can't help but roll my eyes when the cavalry charges in on dirty horses to condemn this girl for so effectively doing what the rest of us do without ever thinking about it.
Me and my morals. Gosh. Having high morals is so unnecessary these days.
perhaps you should clarify your position:
1) do you really think virginity is something special?
and/or
2) do you think this particular girl is immoral for selling her virginity?
because... well... I agree w/ MikeyG & Glurman. Virginity is way overratted. Hell, its win-win for her:
1) she'll become an instant millionaire
2) get her first time over & done with, 'cause for many people their 1st time is a bad/forgettable experience.

(about the English language) It's kinda like a raft that was cobbled together from parts of three different boats and since then has been kept barely afloat with crude repairs every time a leak appeared.
It would be absolutely classic if she got 3.7 million for losing her virginity to some rich guy and then millions for the next 18 years because she got pregnant.
Yes, and yes. Who cares? If you have what she does, and a lot of girls do, you could get rich instantly like this. I'd totally do it too if I could.
A hymen?
I think it's pretty shrewd of her. She's simply realizing the demand and providing the supply (although I'm quite surprised that someone looking like that has survived with her virginity all the way to 22).
Anyhow, It's not the most...moral thing to do, but people will do a lot of silly things for money, and 3.7 million is a lot of money. Although I can definitely see how this would outrage among the more conservative elements of society, I myself am pretty liberal and I do not really care one way or another, although I'm a bit worried about the general trend of women realizing just how far they can control men with a little sex appeal.
Well she won't be getting $3.7. The only place she can do this legally is at the Bunny Ranch out in Nevada, and the owner wants half.
I was watching her on the Tyra show and some of the stuff that came out of her mouth made me want to beat her for her sheer stupidity.
1. "I'm not just going to give it away to the highest bidder...[comments about getting to know the guy and chemistry]"
- Yeah right, she'll hit up the highest bidder and she knows it. She commented about how this is paying for her masters degree. In fact, this whole thing is part of her term project.
2. "I know how to please a man"
- YOU ARE A VIRGIN!!!
3. "I don't want all the girls out there to consider this because this is a woman's issue"
- Really? REALLY? How many women over the age of 18 are still virgins? The demographic that will be affected by this is pretty much high school at most.
On top of this, I can't process the whole thing from the bidders' points of view. I mean seriously, you're talking about dropping $1,000,000+ for some mediocre sex and getting covered in blood. Oh..and you only get to hit it once.

She's doing it in Nevada, where prostitution is legal. I don't agree with it, but she's not breaking the law, and really what separates this from legal prostitution is really only the level of money involved.
Really? REALLY? How many women over the age of 18 are still virgins?
It's really not all that rare. Of course, those women tend not to be interested in having sex for quite some time, due to a desire to wait for marriage, for "the right one," or simply out of disinterest in the activity, but they are out there.

My anecdotal evidence disagrees with yours! EXPLAIN THAT!
2. "I know how to please a man"
- YOU ARE A VIRGIN!!!
On top of this, I can't process the whole thing from the bidders' points of view. I mean seriously, you're talking about dropping $1,000,000+ for some mediocre sex and getting covered in blood. Oh..and you only get to hit it once.
Point #1: While I personally didn't have sex before, well..having sex (a point you seem to emphasize), I did know my stuff. Honestly. Go to the wonders of the internet. There are plenty of clean, decent sites out there that can educate a person on how to go about this stuff. sad thing is, a buddy of mine that had had sex years before me didn't even know what a hymen was, and this was AFTER we all had detailed sex ed.
Point #2: It's no guarantee that it'll be bloody. Not every female has the same hymen. In fact, various different "kinds" have been categorized, from full, partial, split, to simply not having one.
Point #3: It's also not set in stone that it will only be once. If she spoke the truth and does actually want to get to know the person, the potential for a relationship arises. That alone could mean a lifelong commitment if it became that meaningful of a relationship.
I got a question for everyone on these forms that have been saying because it is legal that it is okay and we need to stop worring about it. This is my question: If something is legal, does that make it right? Before you answer think on this, In the 1700's slavery was okay, it was legal, was it wrong? If your today, i dont like abortion, but it is legal, does that make it okay? Why can we setting for something beging against our morals and simply say becasue it is legal its okay. Are we lazy and dont want to stand up for what we bleilve any more or maybe we are scared of what we beleive in? Just making the point that because something is legal does not mean that it is okay... going against it is called Civil Disobdience(that might be the wrong spelling). You may not agree with me, but it is something to think about.
2. "I know how to please a man"
- YOU ARE A VIRGIN!!!
LOL, that's funny. You don't need to be an expert on sex, a *****, or have graduated from the Kinsey institute to know how to please a man, all you have to do is make him a sandwich and rub his feet. Some ********* never hurt any one either.
I never really thought virginity was important either, but not because sex is so common place. I just never thought that sex was very special either. Do I regret not preserving myself? Heck no.
edit: woah. ***** is auto cesored? is prostitute? how about trollop?
Me and my morals. Gosh. Having high morals is so unnecessary these days.
Just because someone doesn't treat sex like it's something special doesn't mean they're not moral. Get real. Sex is an act of physical pleasure, and that's it. Yes, it has other ramifications, but they are, and have always been, an afterthought. At least, to the sane party of society.
I just don't see what the big deal is anyway. The only reason that prostitution is illegal is because it would be effectively impossible for the government to moderate/control it if it were legal. Whenever something is profitable but the gov't has trouble getting it's piece, it's illegal.
What a prostitute. There is nothing special about this woman.
I agree. This warrants a major "WTH" on this one.
As I am too lazy to find out whoever said it, I'll just say that I agree. Lots of people basically do this.
The trouble is that this is big in the news.

Hahahahahahaha.... *stops beating head against wall**regains breath from laughing* hahahaha *coughs a few times* okay okay im better now.... so Mad Mat haha what a can wurms that could open. If it does not hurt anyone then its okay, thats funny stuff right now. You say its not like slavery... lets remember something, to slave drivers, blacks where not human, there for not hurting any one, just hurting something, is it then right?... *goes back to laughing because of ignorance of people* Side note, this is the "Land of the Free" but we still have rule and laws that keep us safe and allow us to be FREE.
That could be hard, since the hymen can be broke multiple ways. but heck, if you would like, ill give it a shot.
I guess what we can learn from this is the simple fact that wrong and right only matter on the time and place clause or maybe there is a deeper grounding of morals in humans? Tell you the truth i dont know.
Im not trying to protest this any how, I figured i would start the tread and see what people think on the subject. i like knowing how other poeple think... that could be sick and twisted on a couple levels... different story though.

You know that he's correct in that this situation is nothing at all like slavery and that you're coming across as a bit .... off, right?
As far as asking if this is okay because it's legal, that's a bit of a loaded question. It involves asking if "legal = moral" and "illegal = immoral" which are two ideas that are hard to reconcile, especially since not everyone agrees that everything illegal ought to be (and vice versa) or that morality is universal. Best we ought to leave it at as far as the legality is concerned is that she is doing nothing wrong as far as the law is concerned. The morality (or lack thereof) of her choice is quite obviously another matter.
