Also a weird side of me sees the main bad being one of Aang's kids mentioned, but yet to appear on the show.
After doing a little hunting on wiki, apparently Aang's son Bumi was a non-bender, so it's definitely possible.

My only problem with Probending is that earthbenders seem like they're at such a disadvantage. The water and fire for the other benders is theoretically limitless, while earthbenders have a finite number of those discs to work with.
I'm suspecting that there's something about the field that in some way limits their elements. After all, in most of the matches the announcer comments on one side "running out of juice", so it could be some sort of limiting factor to the arena (limited water in the reserve or some such.) I'm more interested in them actually explaining how the scoring works. The scoring in the last match we saw made zero sense.

Considering the original he's probably going to be Ty Lee's son.
Probably, but more interesting in my opinion will be if the father is a carry-over as well.

"Running out of juice" means they were tiring themselves out. As for the scoring, the team with the most territory (or barring that, the most active players) wins the round. However, knocking out the entire opposing team wins the whole match.

Bumi is most likely not a equalist since it is hinted that he was very close to his siblings and was pretty loose or not serious. Hardly the revolutionary type. We'll see though.
Running out of juice simply means getting tired like someone else said. Bending takes energy both physically and mentally. They have actually use proper martial arts stances.
Scoring seems really basic. There should be a time limit for each round. As long as one member remains on the stadium when the round ends, your team will be able to still fight. However if you are in a higher zone or have less members you lose the round. I'm guessing if no team gets all three members knocked out, you win by having 3 of the 4 rounds.
I really don't like Mako and Korra right now. Their personalities seems pretty bland well the more I watch it, the more they are growing on me. but Mako didn't even care for Korra until she was revealed as the avatar. Like what if Korra was just another person.... Plus Korra falling for Mako just because he has good looks and is a star pro bowl player is kinda sad imo. He has nothing going for him personality wise. Katara had to save Aang life and be his companion for their grand adventure to be together. Same with Aang, Aang had to prove his worth and be the ****ing man for Katara to see him for who he really his. He exposed his flaws and revealed his greatest strengths. /end rant

Korra's a young girl/woman falling for the good looking jock? Seems more than plausible.
I liked the show overall. A friend forced me to watch the first series and I ended up really liking it. I like that the world feels older and more advanced than in Aang's era.
If this bending sport ends up being to central to the show, I can already see it becoming a bad or better yugioh, though. Which would make me sad. The first series was such a journey for a cartoon with some top notch character development. I hope this one can match it.
Because conservative bias is a far, far worse thing. Liberal bias doesn't, statistically speaking, make people stupid. Conservative bias (or at least Fox's version of it) does.
I didn't say it wasn't plausible. It just wasn't something I liked. I wanted there to be something to his personality. Right now there isn't much. It's only the first two episodes though. We shall see.
And Pro bending is not going to be the central theme for the next episode or two from what the spoilers have shown.

Prepare for some Equalist vs Avatar action
That's fair. It's entirely possible she'll find a new interest later. I really don't like his character either, right now. I'm hoping this series is less of "learn to be the avatar" and more of "be the avatar".
What I mean is I hope she learns the bending by the end of this season, and masters all 4, and along the way the world goes into full on benders vs. the world with the avatar trying to win the war and reunite the people.
Also, I want that crazy face-stealing demon to come back. Might be my favorite supporting character.

Mako was treating her like crap because he thought she was another of BoLin's fangirls. He found out who she actually was (avatar, great bender, not an annoying fangirl) and admitted he was quick to jump to conclusions. He was also quick to congratulate her when she won them the match. Overall, he's been portrayed as a serious minded and humble guy (orphan, too, probably*). Nothing wrong with that as a foil to Korra's upstart impatience.
*Reason I think he's an orphan is because people of the same lineage are born with the same bending powers; BoLin and Mako are probably not blood brothers.

Or they could have a fire bending dad and earth bending mom. But the orphan theory fits. Still nothing though. Probably because I am comparing him to Zuko and Aang who have had loads more in development because its only been 2 episodes for Mako. I hope they make him good. They don't name a character after Mako for no reason and make him this bland for nothing.

So you admit your judgment is hasty? Then why are you even complaining?
That's not necessarily true: Aang and Katara's children were an airbender, a waterbender, and a non-bender.
Aang is all benders.

Whats wrong with voicing my opinion? Some one decided to be a jerk for no reason. Get out of here if you want to start things over nothing. I know my opinion is judged from only 2 episodes. So what? Only 2 episodes have been out. I even said I am hopeful for his character. I don't get what you get for being an absolute ass. I didn't parade on your crappy opinion and I won't waste my time telling you that you shouldn't do so in the first place.
Oh and I'm pretty sure Aang and Katara can only have air/water bending children. Hence you see no fire/earth benders. Aang is spiritually the avatar but that spiritual capabilities shouldn't be able to be passed down to his children. He is still from the air temple and should pass down air bending genes.
That episode shows how much of a threat Amon really is... and that's only in the rally.
That guy is a sweet villain. I really enjoyed today's episode.
The chi-blockers were spectacular as well. I can't wait to see where this goes, although I have a feeling it's Korra learning all types of bending all over again after Amon takes her down. Or at least a quest to the spirit realm or something to do it.
Because conservative bias is a far, far worse thing. Liberal bias doesn't, statistically speaking, make people stupid. Conservative bias (or at least Fox's version of it) does.
Wasn't part of the deal with "soulbending" away ozai's firebending that he didn't need to be killed? If Ozai had children after Aang "fixed" him, then it may have generated an "anti-bending" line. Like the anti-magician in the xanth series.
Alternatively, I am betting it is powered by/connected to No Face. Mostly because Amon wears a mask, so sue me.
Not just the two you mention. There are also those archers that are shown to be able to fight benders effectively, not to mention master swordsmen. Presumably, there are any number of martial orders who've trained to go toe to toe with benders.

Oh yea the spirit with the water bender avatar, never really cared for him. He just seemed like a Cheshire cat character that was a plant for a video game or something. Either way, seems like a good continuation with the storyline. My expectation, though, is if the creators don't keep creative control then it'll probably "drift."
I still think they're using the spiritual weakness bit to keep her from talking to Anng early on.

No money for Magic at the moment. Still on here for the community.
A part of my problem, though seems to be:
1. If he's fire nation that knows how to soul bend and chi block opens up:
A. He has some direct connection to Ozai and Ty Lee/Kyoshi Warriors to gain the requisite skills and knowledge
B. Still up in the air what happened to Ursa or even Ozai, which leads to a potential usurpation claims
But should be interesting what they do with Amon and past characters, there's a number of connections that will probably explained and expanded upon.
