Even if the author is silenced, the performance is stopped, the story will not end.
Whether it's a comedy or a tragedy, if there is cheering, the story will continue on.
Just like the many lives.
For the us who are still in it and still in the journey, send warm blessings.
- We will continue to walk down this path until eternity.
1.) it is humiliating for a female to be inside a room with a guy...
2.) like i've mentioned, it is also humiliating for a guy to be inside a room with a girl
Wow, gender segregation is taken seriously where you live, apparently. I could throw your own argumentative style back at you and say that you're Filipino, your culture is a tiny minority in the world, and therefore you're void, but I'm better than that. Thus my only response to this will be to say that throwing out ignorant nonsense like this will only get you laughed out of this place by people who aren't as nice as I am.
Apparently you're not better than that. Flame infraction.
then i may be wrong cause there is a lot of really Queer people out here.
Pansexual reporting in (and my usual social groups include people from all over the LGBTQIA+ spectrum). There's really nothing wrong with being queer. You could even say I take pride in it.

I don't see why you should be proud with being queer. It's nothing to be proud of. Should I be proud I have 2 feet? Or that my eyes are brown? Or that I'm not white? That kind of stuff seems childish, won't you people agree?

Melanine is a funny reason to be proud. Why not join up and hate haters... then you're a hater... RAAAGHGH *boom*
But seriously until our culture (I can only really speak for America and even then only the areas in which i lived) matures and reduces the amount of sex we cram down the throats of our youth, we cannot have unigender bathrooms.
My female friend currently sitting adjacent to me has added she does not wish to pass urinals in use on her way to the stall.
or maybe just don't have urinals? is ther erealyl a need for urinals if there is are plenty of toilets? it always makes me wonder when there is a urinal and a toilet in a single person bathroom. urinals are a space saving measure. having one large unisex bathroomis already a space saving measure.
the one and only reason for seperate sex bathrooms is social convention. sex is taboo in most modern society and privacy is over emphasized due to the multitude of insecurities. people without a problem with unisex B.R.s will use either unisex or seperate sex. the people who have problems with unisex will only use seperate sex. it makes sence economically to just have 2 seperate sex bathrooms to satisfy everyone rather than 3 bathrooms(unisex, mens, womens)

Some occupations get more respect than others, janitors are one of the more useful and sadly under respected professions. Considering how a great janitor can help prevent disease and therefore help to increase profits by lowering the number of sick days, their value pays for themselves over time.
I've always wondered how certain people can possibly think that simply making something against the rules (for example, hard bans on entering the opposite sex washroom rather than social guidelines) actually prevents the incidents they fear. If someone's out to peep or to assault someone or whatever, the fact that there's a rule that says they can't isn't likely to stop them.
"Hmm, I was going to go into the women's room to stare at women and possibly feel someone up, but this rule says I can't, so I guess I won't." You can put that on the list of things no one will ever say seriously.
That and have a little kid of the opposite gender that needs to go to the bathroom. It's a fairly common enough practice for really young children to be in the opposite gender's restroom, use it, wash their hands, and then leave.
That's why a hard ban would suck for parents. You either have to leave the child alone in the bathroom or have the child hold it, which for some kids it's either a harrowing experience and they'll make you and everyone else know it or worse.
1.) it is humiliating for a female to be inside a room with a guy... especially the restrooms. unless the guy is a GAY guy.
2.) like i've mentioned, it is also humiliating for a guy to be inside a room with a girl, especially the restrooms, because this is the place where we do stuffs like, farting, ☺☺☺☺ing, peeing, nose picking. c'mon. would you like to see that.
The ironic part is that in some cultures the toilet isn't seen as a "private spot" and people will sit there and talk to you while you're taking a ☺☺☺☺. This is especially true of some American Indian tribes. Oh what a culture it is for some young anthropologists going to some reservations, you always get the "the little kid in the house was watching me take a ☺☺☺☺" story.

Ambition must be made to counteract ambition.
Individualities may form communities, but it is institutions alone that can create a nation.
Nothing succeeds like the appearance of success.
Here is my principle: Taxes shall be levied according to ability to pay. That is the only American principle.
Harkius just gave a good argument for why this sort of criticism doesn't really work.
Then we have a disagreement about the definition of the word. I see no justification for pride without achievement and race, sexuality and gender are largely items which contain no achievement whatever.
Reading the first three pages of this thread I must say it rather irrational (And sexist) to think that men with women would become a haven for pervs, but a men with men washroom is perv free or a women with women washroom is also perv free.
I do not want to sound homophobic, but gay people can pervs too. Maybe a co ed bathroom would just be the same as regular ones. Most of the time I'm could not be bothered with what other people their are in the room.
I think though some people are just positing a explanation though so no biggy.
Do some colleges in the US not have Co Ed bathrooms. Has anyone been in such a thing? Can they report on how prevalent pervs are in them?
I did ask the girls I was with why they got a sofa and they said it was quite common because girls like to sit in bathrooms while waiting for friends ... go figure.
It's also useful for nursing mothers or pregnant women who simply need an out-of-the-way place to sit down.
Living in Germany for a bit I found countries that had mixed bathrooms. It seemed weird at first, mostly just the first time. Once I realized the women didn't care I was n the same bathroom with them, it stopped being strange.
I don't know why we do it now. "Tradition" I suppose.
In reality its because of how prude the Americans are.

Our belief is not a belief. Our principles are not a faith. We do not rely solely upon science and reason, because these are necessary rather than sufficient factors, but we distrust anything that contradicts science or outrages reason. We may differ on many things, but what we respect is free inquiry, openmindedness, and the pursuit of ideas for their own sake.

I spent some time at the University in Pau, France this past semester and there were unisex bathrooms there. Worked out pretty well, actually. There were no urinals and all of the stalls and their doors were floor to ceiling so it was really more like little individual bathrooms with communal sinks. I think it'd be a simple implementation in America but in general American society is too pride for it.
It's cultural. It may shift towards unisex... Or it may not. I'm highly skeptical of Anyvody suggesting European cultures are more "advanced" because they go unisex. They're just in a "different place" culturally with regards to gender divisions which is just one small piece of the entire cultural landscape and history.
A large part of the historical reason that they may have first evolved the public unisex bathroom in Europe is costs.
The toilet itself is a 20th century invention.
I'm sure that the public multiperson bathroom is probably an even later invention. What the cultural attitudes towards gender were right at the time of widespread major adoption may have influenced it as well.
Europeans don't have water to burn, dont have space to burn, don't have money to burn. In America, we probably had all 3 at the time that public bathrooms came into being and I bet they started at richer establishments with their cultural Mores.
@dcartist The Primitive Europeans dont know what they are missing, gender specific bathrooms allow us to have conversations we dont want the opposite gender to hear, mostly women unless its at a bar.

Don't you see that the whole aim of Moderators is to narrow the range of thought? In the end we shall make infractions literally impossible, because there will be no words in which to express it. Every concept that can ever be needed, will be expressed by exactly one word, with its meaning rigidly defined and all its subsidiary meanings rubbed out and forgotten.
Is there any particular reason why having gender separate bathroom is bad?
Or why having a unisex bathroom is good?
This.
I'm tired of people acting like their culture is superior just because it is different. No, your culture isn't automatically better just because you want to be able to walk around naked and fart at the dinner table and everyone should be fine with it because you are expressing yourself.

No need to get defensive and go on the attack, yeesh. Nobody said the European system is bad.
I've wondered about this too. Mostly I figure it's because an alarming number of men (not just boys) can't be bothered to aim or to lift the toilet seat. If I were a woman, I wouldn't want men using my bathroom. And now that I think about it, I'm usually glad to be a man during intermission. I wouldn't say that gender separated bathrooms are outright better or worse than unisex though; they both have their perks.
Somewhat off topic, why's it called the bathroom or the restroom? Ideally, neither of those activities should happen in it.

And both sexs have disgusting bathrooms. Girls rest rooms are no better or worse when it comes to the filth in them.
I don't think I've ever seen blood in a men's room, but in women's rooms... well... it's pretty gross when it happens.

My guess for bathroom is because I have a bath in that room. Showerroom doesn't flow off the tongue.
