true, a more classic example would be treasure cruise/ dig through time. In order to be useful in standard they had to be completely busted for eternal and thus got the banhammer.

Eh, we already had Putrid Imp, which wasn't breaking legacy. I doubt this will do anything in Modern.

I think they are firmly of the opinion that they can't let older formats restrict what they print for standard/limited. It takes a lot more for these effects to be worth while in lower power formats and the cards can always be banned in eternal if need be.

Man they're just giving us all these discard outlets left and right lol. I'm starting to wonder if they forgot how dangerous this effect can be in older formats.
