Amonkhet took another strong hit this week. Significant drops were seen across the board, and the set as a whole fell 8%. As in the previous two weeks, this is a combination of the market settling back down after the Pro-Tour, and the normal drops seen from a new set. The estimated value of a box has approached its actual cost, so the fall should ease over the next two weeks.
With Invocations adding less to the box value than any other masterpiece set, Amonkhet should balance at a point where it has a higher rare slot average than the previous sets. Right now it is tied for the top spot with Eldritch Moon (a set bereft of any masterpieces), but without the top-heavy list that set carries. Amonkhet might not have the high end masterpieces with which Kaladesh entices buyers, but it gives you the best return on investment. Additionally, pack value deviates significantly less than other sets, so you will see far fewer duds.

Invocations had a decent stay this week, dropping less than half a percent. It remains the weakest masterpiece set, but if it can hold its ground here, it should not be considered a failure by any means. Even discounting Force of Will, the invocations average $35. This is enough to rival foil mythics, and to do what the masterpiece sets intend. Even with Amonkhet having an overall higher price than other sets, all of its cards are easily attainable. Invocations is a large part of that reason.

Fatal Push had its first significant drop since its release. It has seen nickel and dime drops, but nothing more indicative than basic fluctuations. It remains quite the box value power house, of course, but we may have finally found its ceiling. I would bet that it will not bounce back quickly, if at all, but this card has surprised me before.
The rest of Aether Revolt remained fairly stagnant for the third week in a row. The Pro-Tour roller coaster missed out on this set's cards, so prices have remained relatively calm and stable here.

Much like last week, we see little movement outside of the market correcting from the Pro-Tour hype. Torrential Gearhulk fell harder than it did during previous weeks, but still continues to be overinflated. I would expect it to continue its downward slope for a while.

Inventions saw another seemingly-random week of growth, although such little growth can be dismissed given the large values at play. The high dollar deviation between inventions remains as is for the Kaladesh half. This creates more inconsistency with Kaladesh booster boxes, but even the low end of Inventions remains strong.

Relentless Dead continues its roller coaster ride downward. Having gone from its lowest point of $5 to its peak of $26 in just over a month (Thanks, Pro Tour!), it has now almost cut that price in half just three weeks later. Diregraf Colossus has been on the exact same roller coaster ride, but its smaller price has kept the impact much more muted.

It has become increasingly difficult to write any meaningful commentary for Oath of the Gatewatch. Not much has happened in months. Prices are set, and it would take something extraordinary from Hour of Devastation to shake things up here before rotation. A predictable, stable product is healthy for the market, but I am sure that I have said that in the past.

If Oath has reached the boring phase, then Battle for Zendikar got the t-shirt, wore it, and is now giving out hand-me-downs. The Pro-Tour breathed life into the set for a just a fleeting moment, but even that was immeasurable compared to the rest of Standard. I often wonder if there is something better I could be doing with this overview box than frantically trying to find some redeeming quality from this set. Perhaps next week we can explore why Shambling Vent shambles so much. It would be more interesting than this set.

Overall Summary
The market continues to deflate slightly, but still has room to drop. Overall, things remain healthy and predictable. Next week is announcement week at the mothership, as well as the start of Grand Prix Las Vegas, and this just might stir things up a bit. There will be a banned and restricted update next Tuesday, the 13th, so keep a sharp eye on that. Any Standard change there will have drastic shockwaves throughout the market. Make sure to pay attention to the other announcements as well. The Hour of Devastation preview could easily impact the market, and if any of the major predictions that may have been alluded to - perhaps a change in Standard rotation or the re-addition of core sets - are true, this could also have fast-paced impact.
