Welcome to the Magic Market Index. This article series documents the price changes of cards currently in print. This article will track how cards go from release to its time out of Standard, and as long as deemed necessary for non-Standard sets, as well as offer insight into what cards to invest in and what to ignore. The Magic market is a dangerous place, and this article is here to help guide players and speculators through the murky waters to greater returns.
This article will be updated once a week on Thursday. Currently, this article series is tracking Eternal Masters, Dragons of Tarkir, Magic Origins, Battle for Zendikar Block (Oath of the Gatewatch, Battle for Zendikar, Zendikar Expeditions) and Shadows over Innistrad. There are no current plans to track any promo sets, pack foils, or non-set releases. Otherwise, if it can be opened in a pack, it will be covered.
Card prices are picked on Thursday morning from TCGplayer mid price, the price used by many for trading cards for cards. Going by the selling price involves whether to go by Ebay, TCGplayer low, Star City Games, or another vendor. It is just simpler and cleaner to go by the trade value of TCGplayer mid. Comments about cards are the opinions of the author, and should not be taken as facts or divine intervention. That said, comments and predictions are based on data and experience, not on idle speculation or an attempt to move certain cards. Cards that are worth $2.00 USD or more will be on the list. If a card is worth $1.99 or less, it will not appear on the list even if it was on the previous week.

Overall Summary
The state of the Magic market is good, but not great.
Eldritch Moon has produced a lot interesting cards so far. There will be a full review of the set once the set is officially fully spoiled and almost all the cards are on TCG Player for pre-order. So far, a lot of the cards are interesting. Some of the notables are
Harmless Offering: This will see some demand due to the image, especially in foil.
Soul Separator: This is a potential great card for Commander and may be Standard Ramp.
Tree of Perdition: This card is being discussed as combo potential, especially with Triskaidekaphobia.
Curious Homunculus: This has potential written all over.
Docent of Perfection: This could be quite good even in Standard.
Unsubstantiate: So far, this is best card in the set.
Thalia's Lancers:This will see Commander play.
Bruna, the Fading Light: This is actually better than it looks
Gisela, the Broken Blade:This could make a good beatstick in a White Midrange deck.
Blessed Alliance:This could be a serious player in Standard.
Green-White decks are the dominant decks of Standard. Whether it is tokens or Collected Company based is up to the tournament, but Green-White cards are worth are dropping now, because unless something major comes in the next block, a lot of the power of the deck is going away. The decks will not be unplayable, but they lose a good amount of power.
Eternal Masters will continue to on the list until Conspiracy: Take the Crown is released. The set is a great reprint set, and a good limited format, but overall is a disappointment. This is due to the limited print run which lead into a increase in mark up in price of packs, and the number of rares you can open that are not worth anything close to MSRP, much less the increased price. It is a real gamble that can leave you really happy or really disappointed. Wizards needs to make a reprint set that has a cheaper MSRP, less "Limited Rares" that have almost no value, or both.
Cards to Watch

Gideon, Ally of Zendikar: Gideon did go up by a little, and will continue to go up.
Oath of Nissa: It is slowly ticking up. It could explode or just slowly climb up.

Tireless Tracker: This is a good card to invest in.
