Welcome to the Magic Market Index. This article series documents the price changes of cards currently in print. This article will track how cards go from release to its time out of Standard, and as long as deemed necessary for non-Standard sets, as well as offer insight into what cards to invest in and what to ignore. The Magic market is a dangerous place, and this article is here to help guide players and speculators through the murky waters to greater returns.
This article will be updated once a week on Thursdays. Currently, this article series is tracking Dragons of Tarkir, Magic Origins, Battle for Zendikar Block (Oath of the Gatewatch, Battle for Zendikar, Zendikar Expeditions) and Shadows Over Innistrad. There are no current plans to track any promo sets or other non-set releases. If it can be opened in a pack, it will be covered.

Overall Summary
It appears Bant Company is the deck to beat going into Pro Tour Shadows Over Innistrad with W/x Humans the other. Right now is the time to invest in the cards from those two decks, as they will go up, unless the two decks are completely outshone by a deck that invalidates both deck, which is unlikely. The Pro Tour will most likely define the meta for a few weeks. White-based cards are going to be number targets for both hate and play.
Cards to Watch
Last week, these were predicted:
Languish: This went up a dollar since last week, and seems to be the card people are going after.
Planar Outburst: It did not go up noticeably.
Tragic Arrogance: It did not go up noticeably.
Lumbering Falls: It is now being tracked, so it went up to $2.00.
Tango lands: All went up by small amounts, but they all went up.
This week:
Always Watching: This card is going to go up again, and it will stay around that for its time in Standard.
Reflector Mage: This could go above $2.00, so it is worth looking into.
Cards to Avoid
Last week, these were predicted.
Archangel Avacyn: It went down, but not a lot in relative to its price.
Arlinn Kord: This went down, as there were no prominent decks that played it and did well.
This week:
Westvale Abbey: This is a strong card, but the rise in ways to deal with the payoff of this card means that it is not the great card it was slated to be. Dump your copies now and avoid picking the up unless you know you need them for a deck.

Posted Apr 22, 2016G/b Aristocrats is the new hotness, and looks like the new combo deck for Standard. Get the staples for that deck if you want ot run it, because I expect it to go on to be one of the big decks in Standard.
GR Ramp looks ot be making a strong come back.
There are some interesting brews coming along and seeing some cards spike Dark Petition.
Bant CoCo (and Abzan) and Humans are also doing well.
Collected Company is the defining card of Standard.
