The Magic Market Index: Review of Post-Rotation Standard for March 31, 2016

Shadows over Innistrad will be coming out in the prerelease this weekend, and with this article, we will review the rest of the cards in Standard for what to go after and what to avoid. There will be a separate article for Shadows over Innistrad which be published subsequently to this.

A couple of things to know before reading. Cards not on this listed are card deemed not likely to increase. Neither were they valuable and/or in demand prior to the rotation. These include cards that are generally regarded as "bulk" or cards that are only value what stores are willing buy at a flat rate regardless of what the card is. It is not a good thing to be bulk. Cards on the list were judged by whether or not they have value in Standard or later down the road. Just because a card is playable does not mean it worth something. The sets are listed in individual spoilers so it easier to navigate between sets.

This article is not a crystal ball for predicting what will be the next best deck, but simply a means to see what has the best chance of being good and then what cards will be worth going after and what cards to drop. Trying to figure out the new Standard meta is beyond the scope of this article. However, there are some decks that look clearly to be good already and some existing deck will cease to exist.

Here is a list of decks that will be a good candidate for doing well and cards that could be in them are worth going over.

B/R Madness Vampires U/R Prowess U/(W/B) Control
Bant Co Co G/R Aggro R/W Equipment
G/r Ramp U/B Zombies G/R Werewolfs
Mono Red Eldrazi W/r/b/g Allies Superfriends

The Running Tally of Standard

Oath of the Gatewatch

Name

Price on 3/31

                                                                    Invest?                                                                     Comments
Ayli, Eternal Pilgrim $1.84 N Unless there is a powerful life gain deck, this card has lost its appeal.
Bearer of Silence $0.95 N This card is a decent spell. Unfortunately, "decent" isn't quite enough.
Bone Saw $0.12 N Bone Saw is (not) ready.
Call the Gatewatch $0.44 N There is an argument about a Superfriends deck in Standard, but this card is disappointing.
Captain's Claws $0.62 N This card has potential, but allies need to be a thing first.
Chandra, Flamecaller $21.65 Y This card is red hot and is one of the best planeswalkers in Standard.
Cinder Barrens $0.17 Y Run this only if you do not have the rare dual lands, but still keep the ones you open.
Corrupted Crossroads  $0.79 N This is okay, but the Eldrazi menace is shifting down, as is the need for devoid fixing.
Crush of Tentacles $1.62 Y This card could see play in a blue-based control decks. Besides, don't you want to release the Kraken token?
Dimensional Infiltrator $0.47 N This card will not see play in any deck, which is sad because it is a fun card.
Eldrazi Displacer $3.57 Y This card is the best non-broken Eldrazi creature.
Eldrazi Mimic $2.47 Y This card will be good as long as you can produce two colorless mana in a deck with colorless creatures bigger than itself. Always keep them in stock.
Eldrazi Obligator $0.99 N This is a strong card that is worth keeping in the trade binder.
Endbringer $0.60 N This card is only good in Modern against Lantern Control.
Expedite $0.14 Y This card is always good value and should be in the non bulk commons section.
Fall of the Titans $0.35 N This is not even the best X burn spell in Standard, and the best X burn spell in Standard is almost unplayable.
Flaying Tendrils $0.32 N A fine card, but decks need more than fine cards. Languish is better and without Rally decks, exiling creature is not as important.
General Tazri $0.80 N Allies are barely a thing and this card is generally not worth it.
Goblin Dark-Dwellers $2.43 Y This card has a lot of potential and will only go up as better three-mana instants and sorceries are printed.
Grasp of Darkness $0.25 Y This and Ultimate Price are the best pieces of two-mana removal right now.
Hedron Alignment $0.29 N Outside of when things align perfectly, this card is not good.
Hedron Crawler $0.12 Y One of the better mana fixers in that it let's you cast your colorless Eldrazi and use colorless abilities.
Hissing Quagmire $2.09 Y This creature-land is worth going after, even if Abzan is not longer the deck it once was.
Immolating Glare $0.25 N Now that Declaration in Stone is in Standard, this card loses most of its value. It still good and worth keeping a playset, but it will not have much value.
Jori En, Ruin Diver $0.63 Y A U/R prowess deck may be lurking in Standard, and this card will help make that deck tick.
Kalitas, Traitor of Ghet $22.99 Y This vampire may not be of Innistrad, but it fits in Shadows over Innistrad quite well.
Kozilek's Return $7.20 Y This is a great card and will continue to see sideboard play. It might go up, but it will never command the price it once did.
Kozilek, the Great Distortion  $7.84 Y Ramp decks will be on the rise, and this card could see more than sideboard play. It is worth looking into.
Linvala, the Preserver $2.85 Y With the rise of B/R Vampire decks, U/W control will look to this angel to be their salvation.
Matter Reshaper $3.19 N This card is fine, but feels like filler rather the meat of a deck. Keep them for the binder, but do not go after them.
Meandering River $0.16 Y Run this only if you do not have the rare dual lands, but still keep the ones you open.
Mina and Denn, Wildborn  $0.53 N This card might see some play in a G/R aggro deck, but it will not be worth going after.
Mirrorpool $3.60 Y This is a unique card that is playable, which is a good recipe for value.
Munda's Vanguard  $0.27 N Allies may or may not be a thing, but this will not help in changing it to be good.
Natural State $0.15 Y This is like Nature's Claim as a strong sideboard choice in older formats,.
Needle Spires $1.28 Y Playable creature-land are always worth going after.
Nissa, Voice of Zendikar $14.61 Y This is a powerful three mana planeswalker is waiting for the right new deck to be broken. The tokens deck might be it. Losing Hardened Scales sucks, but this could still pull its weight.
Oath of Chandra $0.35 N Chandra got left out in the cold despite being a strong part of the Gatewatch.
Oath of Gideon $0.68 Y This is great in Superfriends and ally decks. Worth looking into. Also, Gideon does look good in that shot.
Oath of Jace $0.57 Y This card's stock has gone up much since Shadows over Innistrad came up with madness and delirium. It may be crazy, but this could be the best Oath.
Oath of Nissa $2.48 Y Currently the best Oath at a slightly worse Ponder, which is a banned card in Modern. You should swear to keep a few of these around.
Pulse of Murasa $0.13 Y This is one of the best green commons in Standard, period.
Reality Smasher $4.95 Y This card has been a smashing success, and it is worth going after.
Reckless Bushwhacker $0.40 Y A good uncommon in aggressive red decks, so keep all the ones you get.
Reflector Mage  $1.23 Y This is best of the gold uncommons from Oath of the Gatewatch.
Ruins of Oran-Rief $0.43 N The come into play tapped and not being able to produce mana to cast on curve is too much of a cost for the aggressive Eldrazi decks that run it.
Sea Gate Wreckage $1.63 Y This is a great land that will only go up in value over time. It is a bad Library of Alexandria, but that is still great enough to be playable.
Slip Through Space $0.16 Y If the U/R prowess deck picks up, this will be one of the best uncommons.
Spatial Contortion  $0.28 Y Colorless removal is always going to have a place.
Sphinx of the Final Word $1.31 N This is not the blue finisher you are looking for. Pass this off for better cards to go after.
Stone Haven Outfitter $0.49 Y This is heart of the R/W equipment deck. If this was a human, this would be worth a lot more, but it is still worth going after.
Stoneforge Masterwork $0.79 Y This is the strongest equipment in Standard right now.
Stormchaser Mage $1.25 Y This card is the strongest card in the U/R prowess deck that may come out.
Submerged Boneyard $0.17 Y Run this only if you do not have the rare dual lands, but still keep the ones you open.
Sylvan Advocate $4.70 Y Still the best two drop green creature in Standard, and now arguably the best period.
Thought-Knot Seer $9.20 Y You thought there was not going to be a joke about this card? Seers wrong.
Timber Gorge $0.15 Y Run this only if you do not have the rare dual lands, but still keep the ones you open.
Tranquil Expanse $0.17 Y Run this only if you do not have the rare dual lands, but still keep the ones you open.
Vile Redeemer $0.32 N Maybe this will redeem it self later by buying a motorcycle to travel to Colorado.
Void Grafter $0.18 Y This card will have some value as a sideboard card for the Bant Co Co deck.
Void Shatter $0.30 Y This is becoming the best three-mana counterspell in Standard.
Wandering Fumarole  $2.99 Y A solid creature-land that you should not have to switch your feelings about.
Warping Wail $0.64 Y A solid colorless charm card that is worth playing in older formats.
Wastes $0.86 Y Keep your Wastes basic. You do not waste a potential silver mine.
Weapons Trainer $0.17 Y There is a R/W equipment deck in the wings. Keep these guys.
World Breaker $6.96 Y This is the best Eldrazi titan in Standard. This card is waiting to be broken.
Zendikar Resurgent $0.43 N Although it is not worth investing it, it is a card worth keeping around.

Battle for Zendikar

Name                                                                 Price for 3/31                                                                 Invest?                                                                 Comments
Ally Encampment $1.20 N If the Ally deck takes off and it is more than one color, this will be in demand.
Bane of Bala Ged $0.26

N

This is fine uncommon to have in lieu of some the bigger more expensive Eldrazi.
Beastcaller Savant $0.63 N
A fine Ally in some deck, but not a ramp deck.
Blight Herder $0.75 N This card has passed beyond the days of being a serious contender.
Bring to Light $0.83 N This card sees play in Scapeshift decks, so if that deck ever explodes, the card will gain value.
Brutal Expulsion $0.33 Y

This has a lot of upside and could be quite good in the right home.

Canopy Vista $4.06 Y
Playable dual lands will always have value.
Catacomb Sifter $0.21 N A great uncommon that will pass into the "not playable for now" category. Keep your copies, as it has a lot of potential.
Cinder Glade $4.64 Y
Playable dual lands will always have value.
Conduit of Ruin $1.47 Y A casual favorite that might sees play in the Eldrazi Ramp decks.
Crumble to Dust $0.35 Y A solid removal spell that sees a lot of sideboard play in multiple formats.
Desolation Twin $0.49 N This is a cute card, but that is all it is.  The titans are much better for the same cost.
Dragonmaster Outcast $3.13 Y
This is a fan favorite and very playable card in competitive Magic.
Drana, Liberator of Malakir $15.00 N This is a solid vampire, but the jury is out if this as good as good at it should be.
Drowner of Hope $0.94 Y

One of the best six-drop Eldrazi printed. It worth getting them and having them in stock.

Eldrazi Skyspawner $0.16 Y

This is a great common and worth keeping your copies and not bulking them out.

Endless One $2.37 Y
This will be solid as long as there is a way to produce multiple mana from one source.
Fathom Feeder $0.50 N This has potential to be playable, as it has been at the ends of playability, but no one has gone too deep with it.
Felidar Sovereign $0.48 N While a casual favorite, the reprint at rare and in a intro deck ruined this creature for value.
From Beyond $1.00 Y This has a lot of potential beyond what you see on the card.
Gideon, Ally of Zendikar $18.73 Y A great planeswalker for multiple decks and is decently costed. Sounds like a good card to get.
Greenwarden of Murasa $1.47 N Stapling two Eternal Witnesses together does not make the card twice as good. That aside, this is a solid card and could see some use.
Hedron Archive $0.44 Y
This is two clues stapled together at worst. At best, it is a great ramp and colorless mana fixer.
Horribly Awry $0.26 Y This is a solid two-mana counterspell against a lot of the decks out in Standard. It is hard to name a deck that is not touched by aside from the Ramp deck.
Kiora, Master of the Depths $3.52 N
One day, people will want this Kiora, but today is not that day and tomorrow is not looking any brighter. Maybe if she made Kraken tokens, we could consider Kiora.
Lantern Scout $0.86 Y This is a great three-drop in multiple decks, not just an Ally deck.
Lumbering Falls $1.59 Y
Enemy colored creature-lands are worth getting, even if their value is not high up there.
Ob Nixilis Reignited $6.49 Y This is the most underrated planeswalker currently.  Invest in it.
Oblivion Sower $4.99 Y A great 6 drop with a cast trigger that is value and a good body.
Octopus Token $0.19 N Not a Kraken token.
Omnath, Locus of Rage  $2.07 N When Dragonlord Atarka leaves Standard, this might be the big green creature players go to, but that is all. Casual demand drives his value, which means good luck trading it off.
Painful Truths $1.79 N Three-color deck are not likely to be a thing anymore, so Read the Bones is going to be better than this. It sees play in older formats, so it isn't a complete waste.
Part the Waterveil $1.83 Y This is a fun card in some blue-based ramp decks, so keep your eyes open.
Planar Outburst $0.64 Y This is the only current board sweeper for five mana in Standard.
Prairie Stream $4.00 Y
Playable dual lands will always have value.
Quarantine Field $1.49 Y Mass Banishing Light is still fine, and might be good in the white-based control decks.
Radiant Flames $0.59 N Tri- and quad-color decks are dimming slowly, but Jund might still want this.
Ruination Guide $0.30 Y
Another strong blue aggressive creature.
Ruinous Path $1.09 Y
This is not Hero's Downfall but it does not deserve the crap thrown at it.
Sanctum of Ugin $1.23 Y
This will be good as long there are Eldrazi ramp decks.
Seek the Wilds $0.13 N This has potential in some green-based deck, but that might be going to far into the wilderness.
Shrine of the Forsaken Gods $1.39 Y This card will go up if the Eldrazi ramp decks continue ot do well.
Sire of Stagnation $1.46 N This barely saw play, and the trend will continue.
Smoldering Marsh $4.50 Y Playable dual lands will always have value.
Smothering Abomination $0.33 N
This might make an interesting sacrifice deck, but that is a bridge too far cross at the moment.
Spell Shrivel $0.15 Y This and Void Shatter are all the three-drop counterspells needed unless there is a specific theme.
Stasis Snare $0.60 Y A very effective answer to haste creatures. Average effectiveness against most other creatures.
Sunken Hollow $4.37 Y Playable dual lands will always have value.
Sylvan Scrying $0.40 N
Keep your copies. They will not ever be what they were before Battle for Zendikar, but they are always good to have.
Tide Drifter $0.18 Y A good blue defensive creature to keep and great in the Assault Formation deck.
Titan's Presence $0.29 Y One of the best colorless removal spells printed. Keep all copies and gather a few more.
Transgress the Mind $0.52 Y Standard's second best hand disruption spell. behind Duress. Keep all your copies.
Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger  $19.05 Y This is the second best Eldrazi titan printed for a reason, and getting them should not be a bad thing.
Undergrowth Champion $2.89 N This card had its chance to shine and failed. There is no reason to see if do well now.
Vile Aggregate $0.50 Y This is an all-star in Standard and Modern and will continue so as long as the Eldrazi are a deck and you are playing red.
Void Winnower $2.75 Y The value on this card can't even.
Wasteland Strangler $1.25 N This card could be good, or could never see another constructed game. Depends on where the Eldrazi go.
Woodland Wanderer $0.47 N This failed to make a name for itself during the four-color mana bases. It will not do anything in the two colored.
Zada, Hedron Grinder $0.50 Y This card has a unique effect and good type to see play. It is worth a little investment.
Zulaport Cutthroat $0.79 N Rally leaving the format weakens this card's playability a lot, and outside of some weird black sacrifice deck, this will not see any more play

Magic Origins

Name   Price for 3/31   Invest?   Comments
Abbot of Keral Keep $8.09 Y
A solid card that can see play in other formats as well as the U/R Prowess deck.
Alhammarret's Archive $4.45 N This is an interesting card whose value comes mostly from casual and Commander. Not worth trading for, but if you can acquire it for cheap, then it is fine.
Animist's Awakening $0.96 N This card did not do well in the landfall decks, which failed to take off.
Archangel of Tithes $6.06 N This was good during the age of devotion but loyalty to this card died off. People payed the tithe and left her behind.
Avaricious Dragon $3.59 N
The hype on this is unreal. It is a fine card, but there are much better dragons to play and this is a poor madness enabler.
Battlefield Forge $1.42 Y
This is the weakest of the painlands, but it is still worth investing in, especially if the R/W equipment deck becomes a thing.
Bounding Krasis $0.28 N This is the weakest card in the Bant Collected Company deck, and probably the first to be cut for any other good three-drop.
Caves of Koilos $2.28 Y This is solid painland to get, despite being the most reprinted enemy one.
Chandra, Fire of Kaladesh $6.36 N She is a solid card, but she is missing a home and there is no current decks that want her outside of the sideboard.
Chief of the Foundry $0.35 N It is a fine land to have, but it not going to worth much ever.
Dark Petition $1.13 Y Unless this gets restricted in Vintage, this card will hold value for a long time.
Day's Undoing $2.62 N
One day, this card will do something amazing, but that is a few days off.
Demonic Pact $1.42 Y
This is the one of those card that screams "build around me" that Johnny players cannot resist.  Make sure you have some to offer them.
Dwynen's Elite $0.59 Y This is a great elf that could see play in almost any deck in Magic.
Dwynen, Gilt-Leaf Daen $0.71 N This is a solid elf that has no home, as Standard Elves are decent at best, and other elf decks do not want him.
Erebos's Titan $1.15 N The card is interesting and cool, and might see some play in a weird U/B zombie deck, but that is all.
Evolutionary Leap $0.75 Y
Interesting card effects that are cheap to play and activate usually bring out value at some time.
Exquisite Firecraft $2.40 N

This burn spell has kind of puttered out, but it not worthless. It is not something to go after, but it you open it or get one for very cheap, it is fine.

Fiery Impulse $0.31 Y
Almost as good as [card]Lightning Bolt[card] against creatures. It's still worth using and getting. After it rotates it will lose all value.
Flameshadow Conjuring $0.33 N
This is just waiting for the right card or deck to break it. Someone will conjure up a use for other than bulking it out to stores.
Foundry of the Consuls $0.23 Y
This has so much potential to be good. It is just waiting on that right deck.
Gaea's Revenge $0.45 N
This card has failed to live up to its potential, since the Eldrazi monsters are such better than it
Ghirapur Aether Grid $0.23 N This will never be an expensive card, but it has applications in older formats so it has some value long term.
Gilt-Leaf Winnower $0.43 N A solid card that is not going to be worth anything.
Goblin Piledriver $4.24 N Keep these because they will be worth something some day.
Hallowed Moonlight $3.53 Y
While Rally is gone, there is still Collected Company and potentiality a reanimator deck. It is worth getting them. Maybe they will see Modern play.
Hangarback Walker $8.07 Y This is still a solid card that will see play in all formats it is legal in. Keep yours and invest in more.
Harbinger of the Tides $2.14 Y A solid two-drop in the Bant Collected Company deck. Worth getting some because it does see play in other format Merfolk decks, including Vintage.
Herald of the Pantheon $0.58 N This card is not heralding any new decks, as the white enchantment deck is just white, or splashes a different color. This should have come out in Theros where it would have had insane value.
Infinite Obliteration $3.57 N There are no creature-based combo decks anymore, but this still does some damage to ramp decks. Worth keeping your copies, but not getting any more than what is needed.
Jace, Vryn's Prodigy $87.94 Y This is the best card in Standard and will only get better. It may or may not hit $100, but it will not go down by much.
Knight of the White Orchid $1.84 Y There is little good ramp, and none of it is white.
Kytheon, Hero of Akros $4.99 N This card will one day see play. It might in the human deck, but that is not worth betting on.
Languish $2.55 Y Without Crux of Fate gone and no black sweeper in Shadows over Innistrad, this is the black sweeper.
Liliana, Heretical Healer $17.75 Y This card has a lot of potential in Shadows over Innistrad. Worth looking at.
Llanowar Wastes $1.79 Y All painlands are worth investing in.
Managorger Hydra $3.00 N While still a strong card, the heart of the Scales deck is gone, and so stock in this card will go down.
Molten Vortex $0.48 Y Although it will not be tier one, this and Groundskeeper will make a fun value burn deck.
Nissa's Pilgrimage $0.19 Y One of the better green ramp spells in Standard.
Nissa, Vastwood Seer $14.95 Y This will see more play now that there will not be four color decks for the most part.
Orbs of Warding $0.47 N It sees play in some older formats, but not enough to make demand worth it.
Pia and Kiran Nalaar $4.86 Y The clues points to this card being very strong, but further investigation is needed.
Possessed Skaab $0.20 Y This might be a a good card in the U/B Zombie deck and maybe in a U/B reanimator deck.
Pyromancer's Goggles $2.15 N This effect is neat. That's about all there is to say about this.
Relic Seeker $0.41 N Unless the R/W equipment deck becomes tier one, pass on investing in this deck.
Scab-Clan Berserker $0.51 N Burn decks have lost so much and have gained very little.
Shaman of the Pack $0.48 Y This is a great elf for older formats.
Shivan Reef $3.63 Y The best Standard painland. Always have these in the trade binder.
Sigil of the Empty Throne $0.50 Y The other win condition in the Starfield of Nyx deck and a casual favorite. Always have these in stock.
Sphinx's Tutelage $1.24 Y This mill card has a chance now that best aggro creatures are gone.
Starfield of Nyx $2.38 Y This is one of most interesting cards to come out of Magic Origins, and that set was full of awesome cards.
Sword of the Animist $2.29 Y This card is sword of good in R/W equipment decks.
Tainted Remedy $0.58 N Life gain effects are a niche market, and while it should get some value, finding a person who wants it is not worth the time put into it.
Talent of the Telepath $0.50 Y With delirium being a thing in some decks, this has a chance of seeing play. Not the best chance, but better than a zero percent chance.
Terra Stomper $0.79 N Was not good. Will not be good.
The Great Aurora $0.95 N This card has yet to see play, nor will it.
Thopter Engineer $0.28 Y Giving clues haste is always a good thing. Wait… the card is still really good.
Thopter Spy Network $0.62 Y With clues around, you can almost always guarantee getting a 1/1 thopter.
Tragic Arrogance $0.56 N This is not a good sweeper unless you really need a way to get rid of clues.
Vryn Wingmare $0.59 N This will not see play outside Death and Taxes in older formats.
Whirler Rogue $0.39 Y This could see some play with all the clues to make unblockable creatures.
Woodland Bellower $1.38 N This could see some play in a G/x Aggro shell, but that is not likely.
Yavimaya Coast $1.45 Y All the painlands are valuable and worth investing in until the Eldrazi is gone from Standard and diminished in Modern.

Dragons of Tarkir

Name   Price for 3/31   Invest?   Comments
Arashin Foremost $0.69 N This card's value is gone now that B/W Warrior will not be a thing anymore. The best warriors have marched off into the sunset.
Assault Formation $1.00 Y This effect is unique and in a hard to kill enchantment form.
Atarka's Command $12.03 Y The second best Command, and a cross-format all-star. Get and trade for these.
Avatar of the Resolute $1.26 Y The loss of Hardened Scale hurts the playability of this card, but it can still see play. It is worth investing in as a gamble.
Blood-Chin Rager $0.26 N The loss of the Warrior lords and one drops renders the deck a lot weaker.
Clone Legion $1.01 Y There 501 reasons this card is good, but all of them have missed the mark.
Collected Company $17.96 Y This is the best card out of the set. Get these because they are Modern format playable in multiple good decks.
Deathmist Raptor $10.59 Y This card continues to be a great card will no doubt be good in Standard until it stops being Standard legal.
Den Protector $7.24 Y Still the best green creature. Go after these for as long it is Standard.
Descent of the Dragons $2.09 N This keeps waiting for the combo to take flight, but it keep getting dragged on down.
Draconic Roar $0.90 Y The only two-mana three damage burn spell in Standard. Paired with Dragons, it is great, but the B/R Dragon deck it was a part of lost its best card.
Dragon Whisperer $2.07 N This casual card somehow does not seem go below two.
Dragonlord Atarka $8.87 Y The ramp target herself is still good in ramp and the reanimator decks that seem to popping up.
Dragonlord Dromoka $7.12 Y  The anti-control and anti-aggro dragon should do well. It is weak to Reflector Mage, but what non-hexproof creature isn't?
Dragonlord Kolaghan $3.45 N This dragon is not faring well in Standard, and this Standard does not look any better for her.
Dragonlord Ojutai $12.47 Y  The best five-drop for U/W decks, and nothing is going to change that. Still the backbone of Esper Dragons.
Dragonlord Silumgar $5.20 Y  This dragon is still one of the most underhanded cards, but could easily be the reason Esper Dragons is still a thing.
Dragonlord's Prerogative $0.38 N A fine card in a deck that might be out of favor.
Dromoka's Command $3.17 Y

This is an amazingly versatile card that handles a lot of problems. Make sure you have yours and have some for trade.

Explosive Vegetation $1.33 Y [card]Rampant Growth/card] is too powerful for the format, but two stapled together is fine. Keep these for the ramp deck.
Foul-Tongue Invocation $0.47 N The age of dragons is over, but not because they died off. There are simply new tribes to focus on.
Haven of the Spirit Dragon $2.37 N Great card, but it needs a haven to be in.
Hidden Dragonslayer $1.00 N A solid creature that needs a home. Maybe in white humans?
Icefall Regent $1.25 N This dragon did not get any better, but it did not get any worse.
Kolaghan's Command $19.31 Y This is the best Command of the cycle and sees play in every deck that runs red and black.
Lightning Berserker $0.57 Y A solid red beater that can do well in the what will be the new red decks, whatever they form as.
Myth Realized $0.70 N

Prowess is going into U/R and white-based control want something better.

Narset Transcendent $9.25 N This is a strong planeswalker, but she seems to be a good sideboard planeswalker and that is all.
Ojutai Exemplars $1.16 N This will see less play than it already has, which is nearly zero.
Ojutai's Command $1.83 Y This is one of the biggest sleeper hits in Standard.
Risen Executioner $5.92 N While the card is better than previously indicated, it is still not a card to go get right now.
Roast $1.77 Y Red's best removal at two mana and arguably at all costs. Get these and use them as trade bait.
Sarkhan Unbroken $6.00 N Maybe the Temur curse will be broken and this will see play, but most likely not.
Secure the Wastes $4.95 Y

Still good in the token deck and white based control decks, this will have a home for awhile.

Self-Inflicted Wound $1.09 N Now that Abzan is no longer the dominant deck as that deck is largely gone, this is only good against Bant Co Co, so it not worth going after, but keep a few.
Shaman of Forgotten Ways $3.00 N

If ramp does not want this card, then this card has no home.

Sidisi, Undead Vizier $3.18 N If Standard slows down, this could be good in a Zombie deck.
Silkwrap $2.38 Y One of the best two-mana removal spells in Standard, although it could diminish depending on how Declaration in Stone fares.
Silumgar's Command $0.50 N This card is going to need a lot to command any value.
Silumgar's Scorn $0.68 Y A good counterspell if there is a blue Dragon deck.
Stratus Dancer $1.22 Y

An uncounterable Negate on a solid body and potential flier is worth keeping around.

Surge of Righteousness $0.72 N

The time of this card has passed.  It might see play if B/R Vampire Madness is too dominant.

Surrak, the Hunt Caller $0.62 N This card is not that great despite being powerful. If a G/R aggro deck can get off the ground, this might gain some value.
Thunderbreak Regent $3.89 Y This card will always be a solid card and investment until it rotates out of Standard.
Virulent Plague $0.24 N Keep these in case tokens become a thing.
Zurgo Bellstriker $2.75 N

Red aggressive decks are going to in a different direction than being able to jam every cheap creature in the deck and pray their opponents stumble. This will not be worthless, but do not go after them.

Overall Standard Summary

Standard is a strong place with the market after the disaster that was Battle for Zendikar. All the other sets have great value across multiple formats. Boxes of any of these have value, so it not bad to buy them. The only negative in the market is the Expeditions have lowered the value of all of Battle for Zendikar

There are multiple viable decks, so the market is not concentrated in any one deck. The market has plenty of wants, which promotes a healthy marketplace. Shadows over Innistrad is only going to continue this.
