This article will track how cards go from release to its time out of Standard, and as long as deemed necessary for non-Standard sets, as well as offer insight into what cards to invest in and what to ignore. The Magic market is a dangerous place, and this article is here to help guide players and speculators through the murky waters to greater returns.
This article will be updated once a week on Thursdays. Currently, this article series is tracking Khans of Tarkir Block (Khans of Tarkir, Fate Reforged, and Dragons of Tarkir), Magic Origins, and Battle for Zendikar Block (Oath of the Gatewatch, Battle for Zendikar, Zendikar Expeditions). There are no current plans to track any promo sets or other non-set releases. If it can be opened in a pack, it will be covered.

Set Summary
The Eldrazi are cooling off after a red hot spike, which is to be expected. The planeswalkers really took off, breathing new life into decks that were on the decline. The Hardened Scales deck is not one to invest too much into, as it has a shelf life of about a month. |

Set Summary
The set is taking its lumps as the expedition set and being heavily drafted. A few weeks after Shadows over Innistrad is out, the value should start going up. Drana, Liberator of Malakir might be an interesting speculation target as while there may not be a tribal theme, there will be some vampire cards and Drana is one of the best vampires to come out. |

The rares of Khans of Tarkir block are the dominant value. Collected Company is the card from this set, and will only get better. The two red Commands are cards to keep and see where they go. |

Overall Summary
The Magic market is healthy and will recover from the Expedition season.
Collected Company-based decks are the top decks, but the format is not solved, nor is it dominated by any single deck. The Rally deck is arguably the deck to beat, but it is not dominant. That makes the good hate cards against it, like Hallowed Moonlight, rather valuable. Control decks are doing well, with Chandra, Flamecaller being the finisher/board sweeper of choice. She is not on Elspeth, Sun's Champion's level, but she not is not that far down on the list. Unlike other hot cards, this is not one of the cards that is immediately going down.

Hardened Scales: A quick flip might be worth if you are holding some of this card, but it is not a long term investment worthy. It has some casual appeal, but that is not worth the amount of time and resources to devote to it.
