This article will track how cards go from release to its time out of Standard, and as long as deemed necessary for non-Standard sets, as well as offer insight into what cards to invest in and what to ignore. This article will be updated once a week on Thursdays. Currently, this article series is tracking Khans of Tarkir Block (Khans of Tarkir, Fate Reforged, and Dragons of Tarkir), Magic Origins, and Battle for Zendikar Block (Oath of the Gatewatch, Battle for Zendikar, Zendikar Expeditions). There are no current plans to track any promo sets or other non-set releases. If it can be opened in a pack, it will be covered.

Overall Summary
Magic is in an interesting spot right now. It is in what is being called the Eldrazi Winter. The next month is the time to dump any Eldrazi that do not see play in other decks for Modern. Cards that will be most likely hit are Eye of Ugin or Eldrazi Mimic. It would not be a good idea to invest in Eldrazi cards until the bans in Modern in April are announced. The Eldrazi will dominate Modern until something is done about it. As for Standard, Eldrazi decks are a little more fair, so why the cards are going up or not losing much value, they will not be super hot. Once the format rotates though, Standard might switch to a slower format and less good mana fixing so two color decks and colorless decks might shine. Madness enablers are prime topics for speculation.
Card to Watch
Chandra, Flamecaller: This will become the control finisher of choice once the format slows down with the rotation of Khans and Fate. It will go up at least a few dollars, and may be up to twenty if U/R based control decks are solid.
Card to Avoid
Eldrazi Mimic: When the Eldrazi banning comes, this card will be the major market victim if Eye of Ugin is not banned.

Posted Mar 2, 2016Considering it is now almost 19.00, yeah. I never said anything about it being a Madness enabler, but just a control finisher. The thing was I did not expect that (Dark) Jeskai would take it and that G/R ramp would find a use for it.
