This article series documents the price changes of cards in print. We will track how cards go from release to its time out of print. We're currently tracking nine sets: Theros Block (Theros, Born of the Gods, and Journey into Nyx), Khans of Tarkir Block (Khans of Tarkir, Fate Reforged, and Dragons of Tarkir), Magic 2015, Magic Origins, and Modern Masters 2015 Edition. A Standard set runs as long as it's Standard-legal, whereas non-Standard sets will be run as for as long as deemed necessary.
This will be updated every Monday and Friday. The Monday update will follow the Magic events on the weekend to see price changes as a result, while the Friday update will track any changes before the next series of events. The prices come from TCG Player’s median, tracking cards valued at $2.00 USD and up.
There will be upcoming changes that will be implemented periodically throughout this time until Battle for Zendikar is brought to this article series. Feel free to comment about the changes. There will be a section under summary that include the odds of pulling a rare or mythic worth more than $2.00 USD and the value of the set only counting cards worth more than a two dollars.
This will be the last article with Modern Masters 2015 edition. There will be closing thoughts on the set at the bottom, separate from the Overall Summary.

Theros is coming to an end. Only the sun god saw any upwards movement, and the rest of the set is free fall. As Erebos would say, it is time to accept the fate that Theros's time has come. There is little that could whip up desire in any of the cards in this set for Standard. |

Overall Summary
Battle for Zendikar spoilers were virtually non-existent, so there was not too much movement upwards in this time. The cards that are normally moving up moved up, and the cards that normally move down moved down. Sarkhan Unbroken and Shaman of Forgotten Ways both jumped. Magic Origins is slowly dropping, but has one of the most valuable cards in Standard, with Jace. Looking at its appeal that is now across formats, this card feels like a solid thirty to thirty-three dollar card. Otherwise, time to look forward to next week for the start of spoilers for Battle for Zendikar.
Closing Thoughts: Modern Masters 2015 Edition
Modern Masters 2015 Edition was a success. There were faults with the set, such as not enough reprints of desired cards like Serum Visions, Gitixian Probe, Inquisition of Kolizek, Goblin Guide, or that most of the money was concentrated in mythics, the MSRP of the pack, and a limited format that was predesigned archetypes or bust. And those archetypes either had a lot of good cards but little synergy, or a lot of synergy but not much pay off. However, the set did what it was intended to do. It dropped the price of the cards in the set and had the most attended GP as 9/4/15. Some of the cards did not drop much, like Tarmogoyf, but many dropped in value. Hopefully Modern Master 2016 Edition will learn from the mistakes and make an even better Modern reprint set. Because of where that set is going, that set is going to a snap buy.

Posted Sep 8, 2015I am not sure why it says 2016 when I specifically wrote Modern Masters 20XX. There was a joke based on Mega Man, which is loosely associated with the Snapcaster joke (Snapcaster looking like Mega Man X). Also, I have corrected the Animist's Tutelage in my database. It should be Animist Awakening.
As for colors, I will go back to the Red/Blue. I was testing some stuff, and I want to see how it works. The mix up on some of the colors was me confusing my color association. I will double check next time. Thank you for noticing.
The odds of pulling value is based on whether you could pull a rare or mythic worth more than 2.00. I am still toying with some stuff. Modern Masters...I forgot to change that about the packs. It will not be an issue since MM2015 will no longer be in this article series.
Sorry about no update on Monday. I had something come up and was unable to write the article. I fully expect an update on Friday.
