This article series documents the price changes of cards in print. We will track how cards go from release to its time out of print. We're currently tracking nine sets: Theros Block (Theros, Born of the Gods, and Journey into Nyx), Khans of Tarkir Block (Khans of Tarkir, Fate Reforged, and Dragons of Tarkir), Magic 2015, Magic Origins, and Modern Masters 2015 Edition. A Standard set runs as long as it's Standard-legal, whereas non-Standard sets will be run as for as long as deemed necessary.
This will be updated every Monday and Friday. The Monday update will follow the Magic events on the weekend to see price changes as a result, while the Friday update will track any changes before the next series of events. The prices come from TCG Player’s median, tracking cards valued at $2.00 USD and up.
There will be upcoming changes that will be implemented periodically throughout this time until Battle for Zendikar is brought to this article series. Feel free to comment about the changes.
Magic Origins

Set Summary Magic Origins is proving to be a good sendoff to the core sets. There are a lot of good cards that are seeing play across Standard, Commander, and Modern.
Jace is proving to be very important in several blue decks in both Standard and Modern. It is doubtful it will see play in Legacy or even Vintage, but it would not be too surprising.
Nissa and Hangarback Walker will be staples in Standard until they rotate out. Mono-colored devotion is picking up some steam in its final days of Standard.
The set value as whole will continue to decline for the foreseeable future. Investment in this set should begin about a week or two after Battle for Zendikar's release. |

Set Summary Modern Masters 2015 continues to fall, but Tarmogoyf is now growing in size after some player decided to go to the graveyard. The prices do not feel like they have bottomed out.
Overall, this was not as bad as Wizards could have made it. There could have been something that would have made this better, like some more valuable common and uncommon reprints or packs being sold at the price Modern Masters started at. Also, a good cycle of rare dual lands, like the ten filter lands, would have made this better too. |

Set Summary This set has finally started to pick up steam and increase in value. Get the fetchlands now because with the printing of duals in Battle for Zendikar that can be fetched, the fetchlands will never be cheap again while in Standard.
If you like, buying a box of this set is not the worst thing to do right now, although it is best to wait for Battle of Zendikar. This set has the potential that sealed boxes can worth a good amount in the future. |

Set Summary Demand for these cards going up is unexpected since the set only has about a month left. Wait to get any cards you want for Commander, casual, or Modern, because most of the cards in this set will tank hard. Brimaz and Courser of Kruphix are the only cards that have any place in Modern right now. |

Theros

Set Summary Theros is preforming as to be expected. It is declining with the cards that have other format appeal climbing slightly or not losing much value.
On the whole, Theros block was not a bad block, but rather sandwiched between two amazing blocks, so like Kamigawa, it will be looked down upon. The set offered a lot of good cards and mechanics as well as it changed Magic in a positive way. However, its time has come time to say goodbye to the heroes and monsters of Theros. |

Overall Summary
Battle for Zendikar spoilers have come out, and they are shaking up the market. The new dual lands are going to drive an even greater demand for fetchlands. The Zendikar Expeditions mini-set is a great way to get people to buy packs and boxes as well rewarding those that spend a lot of money opening sealed product. The only losers in this deal are collectors who do not have a large bank account and people that want four of a specific land and casual players who will likely never open a full-art foil. Allies have not released a really powerful pay off card for being allies, but the support is great so far. Gideon looks like he could be the U/W control deck finisher he was in Rise of the Eldrazi. Green ramp decks are looking poised to be strong. Going after the strong green ramp cards is a good idea, such as Whsiperwood Elemental and Rattleclaw Mystic. Landfall looks solid, and Ulamog is a monster. This card will be one of the money cards from the set. Open it and save it for something good.
In the current standard, white is the dominant color. Whether it is G/W, Abzan, Jeskai, or Mono White devotion, these decks are doing well and do not seem to get much weaker. However, Standard is still wide open as a format, so it makes it overall better for the market. Multiple cards wants mean trading and selling are easier to do since not everyone want the same deck.
This is a great time for Magic, and the market is quite healthy.

Posted Sep 2, 20151) His Looting ability allows you to filter past lands, which is great for decks that don't want to have more than a few in play
2) His Looting ability can stock the graveyard, allowing you to bolster Tarmogoyf at instant speed, enable surprise flashback of Lingering Souls or Cabal Therapy, or just pitch Reanimation targets
3) His "Flashback" ability doesn't require that you flashback the spell on the same turn you cast him. This actually makes it easier to Flashback spells, as something like Abrupt Decay costs 1UGB to Snap Back
4) His Flashback ability does not actually grant Flashback, it merely enables you to cast the targeted spell. This may seem inconsequential, but it means you can target a Daze or Force of Will to enable you to cast it with its alternate cost, which helps you use Jace to protect the resolution of a threat or combo.
5) The +1 of Jace isn't entirely inconsequential either. It can completely neutralize a lot of threats, which can help combo decks buy time to go off.
