This article series documents the price changes of cards in print. We will track how cards go from release to its time out of print. We're currently tracking nine sets: Theros Block (Theros, Born of the Gods, and Journey into Nyx), Khans of Tarkir Block (Khans of Tarkir, Fate Reforged, and Dragons of Tarkir), Magic 2015, Magic Origins, and Modern Masters 2015 Edition. A Standard set runs as long as it's Standard-legal, whereas non-Standard sets will be run as for as long as deemed necessary.
This will be updated every Monday and Friday. The Monday update will follow the Magic events on the weekend to see price changes as a result, while the Friday update will track any changes before the next series of events. The prices come from TCG Player’s median, tracking cards valued at $2.00 USD and up.

Set summary This set has it ebbs and flows, but that is the fate of a middle set sandwiched between two great sets. The rise of mono red and other decks trying to outrace board sweepers has left Whisperwood Elemental less desirable since it does not help you beat mono red but rather just not die as quickly. Long-term investment suggests cards like Whisperwood will continue to lose value as devotion decks will go away with Battle for Zendikar, which is currently the best place for them. In general, cards with higher mana costs are going to be less playable unless Battle for Zendikar others up some good ramp. |

Overall Summary
Outside of Journey into Nyx and Khans of Tarkir, the Standard sets are dropping in value. For Khans of Tarkir block and forward, this is most likely due to over-drafting and people settling into the new Standard. The hype has died down, and we are being left with an established meta. There is still room to shake the format up, and it is not stale, but it is established. That does lend itself to a less exciting market, but after the last month or so of a roller coaster ride, it is nice to settle down and enjoy the calm before the next storm.
