Feb 10th: The giveaway is official closed! Winners will be announced in the next few days!
To celebrate the new MTGSalvation site going well and truly live, we're hosting a Theros giveaway! To participate, just post here in the comment section telling us about your favorite Magic card!
The Rules of the Giveaway
- Each winner will get 6 Theros booster packs.
- We will randomly draw 15 winners from those who participate.
- For legal reasons, we are only able to ship to the following countries: US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, France, Germany and the UK. If you do not have a delivery address in one of these countries, you will not be able to win the giveaway.
- Each user may only enter once. Multiple posts on the same account will count as one entry. Those caught entering more than once using multiple accounts will be disqualified.
- If you don't name your favorite Magic card, we won't know if you're explicitly entering the giveaway or not, so we won't be able to take your comment as an entry into the giveaway.
- Staff members (moderators, global moderators & administrators) are welcome to post their favourite Magic card, but they won't be entered into the giveaway.
The giveaway will end on the 10th February at 5PM CST, just 7 days from now!
Started playing MTG in Mirrodin block and have been playing affinity ever since.
From a gameplay perspective, my favorite card is Unexpected Results. Can't help but love flipping over random things until you hit something awesome.
The combination of boons on one card creates something better than either of them. It's an extremely versatile card that can help in an aggro race (kill your one drop, reset all the damage it's done) or just be used for a 6 point life swing. It's not oppressive, broken, or even under costed; it's just what every card in the r/w color combination hopes to be.
Close second is Arcbound Ravager. Because robots.
Too soon?
I'll have to say Birthing Pod. It's just so sweet, flavour and mechanics.
During the New Phyrexia prerelease, I had included this guy in the deck because he seeemed like an alright little guy: 1/2 flyer isn't too great, but vigilance meant he could block 1/Xs all day long, and strap an equipment, and he was an all-star.
I played at a fairly competitive shop, so other players there gave me ***** for playing "bad cards", this guy included. Regardless, he was totally an MVP, and brought me to victory for the first time at a prerelease.
Currently sitting on something like 200 in a special binder. Highlight: when the binder jumped in value for like one weekend when Gerry Thompson put some in his Delver build, haha.
The coolest card that had no reason whatsoever to be banned in an eternal format. Also, the art is amazing.
Its like Storm Crow's great great grand nephew in terms of Awesome. Its like Mulldrifter is William Wallace and Storm Crow is the crazy uncle that shows up and teaches him all he knows lol
Draws cards, flies, is modal, is a creature, works in SO MANY decks and strategies, all while being super easy to find and afford. Lightning bolt is in second place for being similarly cool and simple and evocative, all at common (PS new site seems cool :))
