This Week in Magic Gavin fills us in on the awesomeness of being interviewed by BDM in his most recent article, "Getting to Know Gavin Verhey". Check out the new foil Brion Stoutarm promo that has been spotted. Aaron Nicastri wins the 2008 Australian National Championship with a Swans of Bryn Argoll + Seismic Assault deck! Tom and Derek also discuss the PTQ in Madison. Derek gives us some of the hints on playing the Faeries mirror match and Tom happily reports that the BR Blowfly Infestation deck did better than expected, winning against a Faeries deck, completing CRUSHING Kithkin and wearing a home-made Blowfly Infestation shirt to the PTQ. Check out this picture of the "Blowfly Brothers" (John, Tom, Charlie, Will "Little Castro") who wanted some signed Blowfly Infestation's. He has a wide range of accomplishments, a few of which are playing in U.S. Nationals 2006, a top 16 finish at Grand Prix Los Angeles 2009, playing in Pro Tour Berlin, and being awarded over $8,000 in college scholarship through the Junior Super Series and Magic Scholarship Series programs. He sports 12 Pro Tour Qualifier Top Eights with two wins and formed the successful internet based group Team Unknown Stars. Gavin is a level one judge and MTGSalvation Administrator. He lives in Washington state and is a student at the University of Washington. |
